After talking to Yvonne, Rosalie’s face turned ice-cold.
She thought that after completely hypnotizing Credence, he would forget about Dorothy completely, and that her chance had finally arrived.
However, back in the private room, she had let go of her dignity as a woman and had beckoned Credence to sleep with her, but he had rejected her without hesitation.
What did that mean?
It meant that even if he didn’t have Dorothy in his heart, Rosalie had no chance, either. When they were together, apart from occasionally holding her hands or embracing her, he had rarely ever kissed her.
After disappearing for the past six years, not only had Dorothy appeared once again, she looked even more beautiful and graceful; none of the aging and all of the maturity. It was as if life had treated her well throughout all those years.
She had a beautiful daughter, who was doted on by Juelz. Her life was not worse than before. On the contrary, it had even taken a turn for the better.
All of those facts conjured unadulterated jealousy in Rosalie.
Why did she have to work her a*s off for so many years just to get the title of Credence’s fiancée? Juelz did not even mind Dorothy having a child who wasn’t his, and would marry her so long as she agreed to it.
How could a woman that Credence had divorced be so arrogant? How could Rosalie not feel resentful and disgusted towards her, now that things had escalated till this point?
As of the moment, just because Dorothy’s daughter Belle had been injured, Juelz wanted to end Hugo’s career and was even going to take down the whole Fisher Group along with him. She could not bear to watch all that unfold.
Standing in the dimly lit corridor, Rosalie slowly took a deep breath and calmed her pent-up emotions. She then opened the door of the private room and entered. When she saw Credence sitting on a chair and drinking elegantly, she showed him a gentle smile, her eyes filled with intoxicating desires.
“Credence, you know my cousin, Hugo, right? He’s gotten himself into deep trouble recently. You have quite the power within the police department too. Can you help him?”
“I can’t.”
Credence had always been busy with business affairs, so he was not aware of the video that got published this day and the huge ruckus and public anger it had caused on the Internet.
However, he had Jonathan, who was a huge gossip, as a friend. He had told Credence everything the moment the news came out.
He could tell who was in the right and who was in the wrong at once.
Although he was not a good person himself, helping trash like Hugo was not his style at all.
He had long drawn a clear bottom line of what he could and couldn’t do.
“Credence, you have the ability to help him, but you just aren’t willing to, is that right?”
A bitter smile appeared on Rosalie’s face. Her eyes were glazed over as she looked at the handsome man in front of her. His face was ever so familiar yet so indifferent.
Her heart ached.
“It doesn’t matter if you don’t help Hugo, but my father’s company’s shares have declined a lot because of this matter. He’s about to go crazy and is in poor health. The last time he got sick, he had to be hospitalized for nearly a month before he recovered, albeit only slightly. Now, such a thing has happened once more. Credence, can’t you just take this as me wanting a favor from you to give my father a way out?”
Soon as her speech ended, Rosalie smiled softly, her fists balled. Where was the Credence who would go above and beyond to help her whenever she dropped the word?
“Credence, please, as long as you are willing to help my father’s company through this crisis, I will do everything you want me to!”
After speaking, the most beautiful smile bloomed on Rosalie’s face. She walked towards him step-by-step, exuding charm. She raised her hands and gently placed them on his wide shoulders. Slowly, she rested her head on the crook of his neck, her red lips inching closer to his ear, and her breaths soft. She said, “Credence, I’m all yours tonight. Let me become your woman for real, alright?”
Her fingertips brushed over his firm and straight back, and she felt the temperature of his skin through his black shirt. It was slightly hot, burning her fingertips and through her heart.
He was the man who she had loved for many years. She wanted to be his woman, she wanted to enjoy the feeling of being loved on their bed, she wanted to bear his lovely children-
Rosalie wanted to fulfil her dreams so much that she was on the verge of going insane!
“Ah!”
Rosalie was thrust to another spacious seat, screaming as she was sent flying by his swinging arm, coughing and panting with effort.
Credence was still sitting there, straight-backed and tall. His handsome face was expressionless, and his deep and sharp eyes swept over Rosalie’s slender and beautiful body.
Rosalie was wearing a tight sleeveless evening dress. The hem of the dress barely reached her snow-white thighs. Under the light of the crystal chandelier, the most private parts of her seemed to be revealed in front of his eyes.
Sensing Credence’s gaze, she purposely refrained from closing her legs. She left it slightly open, showing no intention of covering herself up.
Noticing her actions, Credence quietly withdrew his gaze and said faintly, “It’s getting late. I’ll ask Benjamin to send you back first.”
She was only a suitable marriage candidate. He held no feelings towards her, so giving her the title of his fiancée was good enough. As for other things, she should learn to curb her expectations, for he would not give her anything too.
Rosalie was stunned. She swallowed down all her unwillingness and smiled gradually. “But, Credence, don’t you like Sandy the most? All she did was push Dorothy’s daughter to school. As a result, her daughter’s forehead got hurt and she started to bleed, but that had nothing to do with Sandy.”
“Belle had always been in poor health as she has leukemia. As her guardian, Dorothy should not have sent such a weak girl to school, for it only serves to inconvenience everyone.”
She continued to laugh, her face as pale as a withered flower, “Credence, the issue with Belle was only an accident, so Dorothy should take at least half of the responsibility. However, Juelz, the white knight who has been protecting them, is the president of J&D Group. He put all the blame on Sandy, on Hugo, and even my father’s company…”
“Credence, can you stand by and watch our family suffer such unexpected disasters? Are you willing to watch the Fisher family’s company go bankrupt in Juelz’s hands?”
“If the Fisher family goes bankrupt, it’ll harm your reputation, and nothing good will come from it.”
When she finished her speech, Rosalie cried softly, and sadly. Her sobs were so heart-breaking that they gave people a bone-piercing sense of despair.
A bankrupted Fisher family was useless to Credence. With his abilities, he could cancel their engagement and take back her title as his fiancée with a snap of his fingers. To Credence, that was something as easy as eating and drinking.
However, the names Dorothy and Juelz rang particular sharply in his mind.
It was the two of them again!
Credence was a cold-hearted person to begin with. He no longer cared if the Fisher family was dead or alive. However, Dorothy and Juelz had provoked him and Rosalie time and time again. They had challenged Credence’s patience, and that was something that he couldn’t tolerate!
At some point, Credence had picked up a cigarette with his slender fingers and lit it with a lighter. He frowned and took a long drag from it. His eyes turned serious as he said, “I know. You go back first.”
She knew that she could not get anything useful out of him if she continued to stay. So, Rosalie followed Benjamin out of the room like the docile woman she was.
After a while, the room returned to its former silence.
His eyes narrowed into slits, Credence harshly smothered the burning smoke in the white and ice-cold porcelain ashtray.
The ember from the cigarette puffed out immediately.
White tendrils curled up in front of Credence’s eyes, making him look even more frigid than ever.
After a moment of silence, he slowly opened his mouth.
He spoke in a low and deep voice, “Dorothy Fisher, what the hell are you trying to do?”
