Chapter 120 The Medical Report

Benjamin noticed that Credence, who should have been leaning against the black executive chair, had fallen heavily on the floor with his eyes closed. His handsome face was pale and haggard. Sweat covered his forehead, and his chest heaved up and down as he breathed heavily and disorderly.
The thunderous sound he had heard from outside had been the sound of Credence falling from the chair to the ground.
“Mr. Scott, what happened to you?”
Benjamin noticed that there was something wrong with him. Credence was even twitching occasionally. Feeling uneasy in his heart, he was so shocked that he held his breath and quickly called Jonathan, “Mr. Stanton, Mr. Scott has suddenly fallen unconscious. Right, all right, I will send him to the hospital right now.”
After hanging up on the call, Benjamin immediately called another assistant to help carry the unconscious Credence to the back seat of the car. Then, he got into the car and drove all the way to the hospital.
After half an hour, Benjamin jumped out of the car. He ran into Jonathan at the front doors of the hospital, carried the unconscious Credence to a medical stretcher, and steadily placed him on the trolley.
The dean had been standing outside and waiting for a long time. He rushed over and gave Credence emergency first-aid treatment.
Credence’s chest was suddenly shocked by a strong wave of electricity. The pale-faced man gradually opened his dark bloodshot eyes and frowned. He slowly raised his hand with great difficulty as he asked in a hoarse voice, “What happened?”
“What do you think happened?”
Jonathan was furious. He punched Credence’s shoulder in a seemingly strong but actually gentle way, “Credence, must you hurt yourself like this for Dorothy?”
When she had been by his side, he had always ignored her. However, now that she did not want to talk to him anymore, he was torturing himself!
His ridiculousness was enough to make Jonathan doubt his intelligence.
“This has nothing to do with her.”
Credence slowly shook his head, his breathing shallow. He closed his eyes before suddenly opening them again. His chiseled right hand slowly reached up. He smiled in a self-satisfied manner and said, “Here… It hurts so much.”
The place was where his heart was located.
It hurt because Dorothy was pregnant with Juelz’s child. He had tossed and turned all night as he could not sleep well.
He harbored great regret. Every breath he took in the night made him tremble.
His heart ached, so even his stomach ached as well.
“You are just so despicable!”
He reaped what he sowed. He deserved it.
Jonathan hurriedly pushed the trolley to the emergency room as he looked at the quiet man lying on the bed who could not help but cough. Jonathan was so enraged that he glared at Credence and said, “Credence, I’m telling you, you either die now, or you get Dorothy back after you recover.”
“She’s just a woman. She’s a woman that has even loved you for the past decade. You are the man almost every woman wants to marry in Talco City. There is no one else comparable to you. You are rich, have a good figure, handsome, and you are also good in bed. Don’t you have the confidence to pursue her back?”
Credence thought that Jonathan was being too noisy and turned his head around in indignation. He cast a glare at Jonathan and frowned slightly while enduring the pain in his stomach. There was no expression on his face.
He had passed out in the office due to that recurring gastric problem of his. The incident had nothing to do with Dorothy’s refusal to forgive him.
Yes, that was the truth!
Jonathan saw that he was faking it, but just clenched his teeth and punched the white pillow beside Credence’s head. He scolded, “D*mn it, just keep your thoughts in your heart, will you? Sooner or later, you’re going to regret doing so.”
As soon as Jonathan said that, the tall and majestic man who had just been sent to the operating table suddenly trembled.
Regret for doing so?
He had regretted believing in Rosalie’s words and for continuously making Dorothy feel devastated until she was filled with despair. She had even told Kingston that she would never forgive him.
“You and Benjamin, leave first.”
Although all kinds of feelings were welling up in his heart, and all sorts of emotions were jumbling into a mess in his heart, Credence hid all of those emotions, and nothing could be seen on his face. He only closed his eyes and kept his long eyelashes motionless.
He was a mature man who was almost thirty years old. He had been in control of the business industry for many years. He was reserved and patient with a strong personality. He only knew how to order people around and not how to complain. He often displayed no emotions on his face, thus he had long been accustomed to swallowing all the bitterness and pain into himself. He swallowed it down, and digested it carefully.
Jonathan and Benjamin looked at each other with a wry smile helplessly. They stepped out of the operating room one after the other.
Jonathan took out two cigarettes from his cigarette case and threw one to Benjamin. He cocked an eyebrow and asked, “It must be his stomach again. When was the last time Credence ate regularly?”
Benjamin replied, “About a month or so.”
He held his breath and took a long drag from the cigarette. After spitting out the thick, white smoke, he frowned and sighed. His gentle and handsome face was filled with a worried expression.
“Ever since Mrs. Scott left the house and gone to Palm City with Juelz in secret, Mr. Scott’s diet has grown irregular. When he had no appetite, he would not eat at all. When he was starving, he would only drink coffee aggressively to refresh himself. After being like that for such a long time, his stomach finally couldn’t stand it anymore.”
“In the past, when Mrs. Scott was around, she would often cook some medicine and secretly ask me to hand it to Mr. Scott. She has also specifically told me to not let Mr. Scott know. As you know, Mr. Scott has always detested her. If he knew that Mrs. Scott was the one who did those, he would not even bother to look at it, let alone eat it.”
“Mrs. Scott is good at cooking. The soup she made was sweet and the bitter taste of the ingredients had disappeared. Mr. Scott liked it very much, and he would always finish all of it.”
“I can only say that Mrs. Scott had always been the one who took care of Mr. Scott’s gastric problems. No matter how good the takeout he would order in the hotel, he would look down on them, and won’t even eat it.”
Sure enough, the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach.
Mrs. Scott was so amazing that she had secretly captured Mr. Scott’s stomach, and had even made a place for herself in his heart!
Benjamin took two more puffs from the cigarette in his hand.
Jonathan thought the same. He flicked away the cigarette ashes that were burning in his hand and sighed, “I’ve already told Credence that Dorothy is a good woman. I’ve told him that she loves him with all her heart. She loves only him, but Credence is blind. He won’t listen to my advice and has made me so anxious.”
Benjamin nodded in agreement.
In that moment, these two strikingly handsome and graceful men were smoking while sighing at the same time.
After a long time, the red indicator light of the operating room went out, and a doctor opened the door and handed Jonathan the final medical report. It was about Credence’s health condition.
When he stared at the line of black words, Jonathan was taken aback at first. After a while, in the end, he cried out in pain, “Sh*t, how could this be?!”
