When Ivana arrived after hearing the news, Dorothy was in a mess in the detention room.
When she saw Juelz’s condition, she was in greater shock.
He was on the ground and could not get up. His upper body was wrapped in gauze, and lots of blood dripped out from the reddish gauze, which was horrible to look at.
What… had he been beaten up by Mr. Scott?
Dorothy took a basin of clean water and held a towel in her hand. She carefully wiped the cut on Juelz’s arm when she saw Ivana enter. She looked down at the dying man and the corners of her eyes turned red, “Ivana, I can’t leave this place because I’m being labelled a murderer. Can you help me send him to the hospital?”
For her sake, Juelz was constantly beaten up by Credence. Had it not been for Gordan’s sake, Juelz might have already been killed by Credence countless times.
In her world, she had done nothing wrong, and she had a clear conscience. Juelz was the only person she owed too much to. She might never be able to repay him.
“There’s no need to take me to the hospital. It’s just a small injury. I won’t die from it.”
Juelz frowned in pain as he looked at her worried gaze. In order to keep her from feeling guilty, he held back the stuffy cough in his throat and pointed at the pile of clothes piled up like a hill on the bed. He raised his eyebrows and laughed happily.
“Dory, did you see the clothes I’ve brought for my baby. Aren’t they cute? Am I great at choosing clothes? Come on, praise me!”
“When you get out of prison, I will accompany you to a children’s shop to buy whatever you want. If it’s a girl, we will dress her up until she is the most beautiful princess in the entire world! If it’s a boy, we will take him to learn horse riding, shooting, and even golf. I will make him the most handsome and charming man in the world. He will be just like me, and everyone will love him at first sight!”
Dorothy originally felt somewhat depressed, but Juelz teased her until she was amused, “Alright, alright. You are the most handsome man in all of Talco City!”
Ivana stared at their lovely interaction in shock. She suddenly understood why Juelz had been beaten up.
However, this was his private affairs, and it was not right for her to be involved.
She lowered her head and looked at Juelz shamelessly. “Let’s go, I’ll send you to the hospital first.”
Juelz thought that it was rare for him to be able to spend time with Dorothy alone. He did not want to leave, but when he saw her pleading eyes, he coughed and got up reluctantly. He pulled her wrist, “Dory, I’m fine. You don’t have to worry. The condition of this place is terrible and there’s not thing nice here. In a few days, after I get out of the hospital, I’ll get someone to luxuriously decorate this place. Try to hang on for a few more days.”
“I understand. You should go to the hospital quickly. I will take good care of myself.”
Dorothy saw that his injury was serious, but he was still concerned about her. How could her heart not be in pain after seeing this?
Ever since she had met Juelz, in most of the eleven years they had known each other, every time she was hurt or in pain, he would stay by her side and take care of her to give her strength. No matter how far she and Credence were in their relationship, Juelz and she were more like family then she was with her real family. That was something that would never change.
Juelz laughed and covered his abdomen that was in extreme pain, “Dory, I really don’t want to see you suffer again. When you get out of prison and the child is born, you’ll marry me, right?”
Dorothy looked at his expectant smile. In the end, she could not bear to refuse his offer, so she said, “Alright, we’ll talk about this later.”
“You didn’t reject me, so I’ll take it as a yes.”
Juelz’s handsome face lit up with extreme happiness, and he was too excited to speak coherently, “In a few months, I’m going to become a man with a wife and a child! Ah, I’m so happy! Ivana, tomorrow, bring yourself and your friends to the Renaissance Royal Hotel. Whatever you guys want to eat, be it lobsters or caviar, just go wild! I’ll foot the bill.”
“Thank you.”
Ivana thanked him politely and followed Juelz out through the metal door of the detention room. Before leaving, she looked at Dorothy again with a complicated expression, then left without saying a word.
In her opinion, Dorothy with Credence were a better match. For everybody in Talco City, the two of them were better for each other. She never thought that such a perfectly matched couple would have such messy private lives.
It seemed that these wealthy men and women only looked glamorous on the surface.

The day after.
She did not know what Juelz had told the person-in-charge at the police station. Dorothy no longer had to eat simple, bad food. Instead, she had luxurious meals with expensive meat, vegetables, and soup. She really enjoyed the food.
Although she had no appetite from her morning sickness, Dorothy still enjoyed small mouthfuls of the food and eventually finished the food.
She did not have to wash the dishes after she finished eating. Someone would come over and help her clean her plate and cutlery.
Dorothy had a stomachache. She stood up and walked around the small room that had a surface of only a few meters square.
At that moment, Ivana brought a medium-sized TV in. Looking at Dorothy’s curious eyes, she smiled and said, “Someone entrusted me to set up a TV to relieve your boredom. Don’t ask me who it was. I can’t say it, because it’s a secret!”
After spending lots of time with Dorothy, Ivana had lost her coolness. Occasionally, she would turn into a mischievous and cute young lady.
“I know who it is, even if you don’t tell me.”
Dorothy’s long eyelashes trembled, and she flashed a beautiful smile which made her gorgeous face look even prettier.
Germaine was in Monticello, which was far from this place. In Talco City, the only person who really cared about her was Juelz!
In the evening, Dorothy laid on the bed. She listened to the news on the TV and felt a burst of warmth.
How great would it be, if the person she loved was Juelz!
Unfortunately, she had fallen in love with Credence at first sight. He had completely occupied her heart, and there was no more room for anybody else.
Only one person could fit in her heart at a time.
Even if Juelz loved her with all his heart, she could never love him as deeply in return.
Since that last incident, Credence had completely disappeared from her world.
After he had angrily slammed the door close and left that night, they no longer had any contact.
To be more precise, Credence never appeared in her detention room ever again.
When it was daytime, apart from borrowing Ivana’s phone to chat with the bored Juelz for half an hour every day, Dorothy spent the rest of her time watching TV in the detention room. Sometimes, she would clean and tidy up the toys and clothes for the baby in her womb with a heart full of love and expectations. Those had all been sent to her by Juelz.
She continued to live comfortably, awaiting the day of her trial.
In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.
One day at twelve o’clock, the television was broadcasting the news.
Dorothy listened as she walked. Suddenly, she heard the words ‘Credence Scott’.
At first, she had thought that it had all been in her head. However, she soon heard the words ‘Credence Scott’ uttered by the sweet female reporter on the screen again.
The female reporter enunciated every word clearly, “Here is an interview with brand new information from our reporters. It’s rumored that Mr. Credence Scott, the president of the Scott Group, will dissolve his relationship with Miss Dorothy at 10 o’clock in the morning due to personal reasons.”
Apart from that, Credence has also revealed his feelings for Rosalie of the Fisher Group, and that they will choose a day to hold their wedding ceremony by the end of this year. When they finally decide on the date of their wedding, they will make an announcement on the Scott Group’s official website as soon as possible.
Afterwards, the female reporter seemed to be offering a lot of flattery and congratulations, but Dorothy did not listen to any of them anymore, as if she had gone deaf.
In her trance, she only saw the glaring image of Credence and Rosalie holding hands and smiling at each other.
He had finally decided to give up their marriage. Was he going to marry Rosalie as he had hoped?
She had clearly promised herself that she would not feel pain for Credence anymore. Alas, why? Why was her heart still in such great pain? It hurt so much that she could not breathe. Even her blood seemed to have stopped flowing, as if it had frozen over.
Dorothy stretched out her hand and covered her slightly protruding abdomen. She closed her eyes in pain.
She went through another week in a daze. One evening, while Dorothy was still locked up in the detention room, a very unexpected visitor entered.
