“Don’t overestimate yourself!”
He stared at Juelz coldly, who was curled up in pain on the ground. There was a cold expression on his face. A cigarette was held between his two long fingers. In the dazzling white smoke, he unbuttoned his coat. His elegant gestures were so attractive that he could blow one’s soul away.
Credence’s gaze fell on Dorothy. His gaze was sharp enough to frighten someone.
There were several men who were as tall and burly as Credence following him into the room. Dorothy knew them all. They were Jonathan, the director of the hospital in the city, and Marvin, who was a special-forces soldier. Both of them were good friends of Credence, who would risk their lives for each other since they were young.
The last one was Credence’s assistant, whose name seemed to be Benjamin.
There was a period of time when Dorothy was obsessed with using diet therapy to cure Credence’s gastritis that he had been suffering from for many years. However, she was afraid that Credence would refuse to eat the food once he knew that it was prepared by her. Hence, Dorothy would pass the nutritious soup to Benjamin and ask him to hand it to Credence as “takeaway food”.
There were suddenly many people in the hotel suite she booked. Dorothy was at a loss in an instant.
She shouted in panic, “Credence, what do you want to do?”
“Want him dead!”
Credence gave Marvin a signal with his ferocious look. Seeing Dorothy who was standing in front of Juelz to defend him, he took a deep inhale of his cigarette. The smoke he exhaled from his throat was filled with rage!
Jonathan could not help shivering upon seeing Juelz’s miserable look. He was afraid that Credence would really kill Juelz as he was in fury. He sneaked up on Dorothy and whispered, “Credence is angry now. Don’t argue with him anymore. Otherwise, Juelz will suffer!”
As soon as he finished his words, Credence gave him a cold stare. Jonathan was so frightened he broke out in a cold sweat.
It was so terrifying! If Juelz was not his friend, he wouldn’t care about Juelz at all.
Dorothy didn’t know whether to listen to Jonathan or not. She was standing still and frowning. However, before she could think of her next course of action, a gust of cold breeze blew over her.
Marvin suddenly leaned down. He was a man who had been serving in the army for nearly 20 years. He stretched out his long arms and pulled Juelz up from the floor effortlessly. Juelz turned around and threw a punch at Credence forcefully. However, he could not compete with Credence who was agile physically. He was knocked down to the ground by Credence effortlessly and was once again dragged out of the room by his collar by Marvin.
A general manager of the hotel, followed by a batch of hotel security guards, rushed over upon hearing about the incident.
Benjamin moved forward to block the general manager leading the security guards. He then took out his business card and handed it to the manager. They moved to one side to talk.
Dorothy could hear Juelz groaning again. Ignoring the man standing in front of her, she let out a scream and rushed out of the suite to the corridor and tugged Marvin.
His solemn face looked a little friendlier than Credence’s. However, Dorothy didn’t expect that he would be even scarier than Credence when he fought. Every of his punch hit Juelz’s internal organs precisely, without any trace of blood.
“I don’t hurt women. Get out of my way.”
To Marvin, the force exerted by Dorothy was slightly stronger than a mosquito’s, which could not hurt him at all. However, thinking that she was Credence’s woman, he kept dodging her to avoid hurting her accidentally.
Seeing Juelz who was rolling on the ground with his hands covering his head, Dorothy had no choice but to rush to the man who had been keeping quiet while smoking. She shouted angrily with a pale face, “Credence! What do you want? What exactly do you want?”
“I’m telling you, Credence, don’t force me! If you beat Juelz to death tonight, I’d rather jump from the window… I’d rather die than going back to Talco City with you!”
Credence stared at her with no expression on his face. He frowned and thought for a while. Then, his slender fingers holding the cigarette made a gesture at Marvin.
Marvin understood what he meant instantly and immediately stopped what he was doing. He quickly picked up Juelz and then walked into the elevator, ready to send him to the hospital nearby for treatment.
After suffering from those punches and kicks, Juelz would have to be hospitalized for at least a month before he could recover fully.
Foolish man. There were so many pretty ladies in Talco City. Why did he want to mess with Credence’s woman instead of choosing another woman? He had overestimated himself!
In the room, Jonathan realized that the others were all leaving, except him, the third wheel. He quickly turned to Credence and gave him a suggestive look. He immediately packed his things up and left.
In the living room which was 20 square meters big, there were only Dorothy and Credence left.
The living room was too small and too narrow. She couldn’t get farther away from him. Whenever she breathed, she could smell his minty scent.
The person Dorothy hated to see the most at that moment was this man. She wanted to enter the bedroom and leave him outside. When she began to move, her back froze instantly. She could feel a cold breeze on her back. Credence was following her into the bedroom.
There was only one thought in her mind at that moment. She could not allow him to enter the room. As he was in a furious mood, he would vent his anger out on her.
“Credence Scott, stop following me!”
Dorothy suddenly sped up and rushed into the bedroom. She was in a panic and wanted to reach out to close the door. Unexpectedly, the man moved as fast as the wind, and his leather shoes blocked the gap between the door and the door frame. No matter how hard she tried to close the door, she still failed to close it.
“Stop, Credence, stop!”
“Don’t come near me! Credence, since you don’t love me, why don’t you just let me go? Isn’t that good? Don’t give me hope only to let me down again, okay? I can’t stand it, I really can’t stand it anymore.”
“I don’t want… I don’t want to keep speculating about what you and Rosalie are doing every day and night. Or else, I’ll really lose my mind and go crazy!”
Dorothy couldn’t stop him from entering the room. She could only move back step by step with a pale face. After a dozen steps, she was backed up against the wall.
“You’re my wife. Let’s go home!”
The man walked to her side, and his cold gaze fell on her beautiful and watery eyes. His eyes were mysterious, but there were some complicated feelings within that made her anxious.
Then, he opened his slender arms and held her tightly. His strength was so strong it almost broke her bones.
She could not catch her breath, so she had to open her mouth to breathe while putting her face against his warm chest.
Her heart which had been hurt so many times by him once again beat faster because of his gentleness at that moment.
However, he only admitted that she was his wife, and did not mention that she was his lover!
She should not forgive him. She should not forgive him so easily!
Dorothy’s body couldn’t help trembling. The man holding her assumed that she felt cold because of the low room temperature. He threw the remaining half of the cigarette into the trash can, took off his black suit, and put it on her.
He was exhausted yet in high spirits. At that moment, he looked down at the woman in front of him, who had no excitement on her face. He said helplessly, “Are you not happy that I’m here?”
Why should she feel happy?
Was there anything to feel happy about?
Dorothy sniffed and knew that he used to keep a handkerchief in his pocket. Hence, she reached into his pocket to find the handkerchief. Unexpectedly, a document fell out of his suit pocket.
Even Credence was stunned for a moment due to this sudden occurrence.
His expression suddenly changed. He was about to bend over and pick it up. However, Dorothy acted faster than him.
Her movement was both astonishing and terrifying.
She was already squatting on the ground. She picked up the document, and spread out the document little by little using her hands. She saw the words “Divorce Agreement” clearly…
His heart skipped a beat as if it had been ripped by a beast’s claw. It was so painful that Dorothy closed her eyes. The moment she exhaled, her tears fell down her cheek as well.
