On the other hand, after scenting the strong alcohol smell coming from Dorothy, Juelz shook his head helplessly. He then brought her to a hotel not far away from the hospital.
Dorothy was so drunk that her head was in the clouds. Lying on the bed, she squinted her eyes and was in a half-conscious state.
“Dory!”
Juelz came out of the bathroom after he took a quick shower. He walked to the bedside and touched her face. Only then did he realize that there was something wrong with her.
Her face was no longer pale. Instead, her cheeks were flushed with a crimson red. Besides, she was breathing heavily.
“D*mn it. How could that a*shole let you drink so much?”
Dorothy nodded subconsciously.
Juelz’s face darkened instantly. He picked her up and walked into the bathroom. “Take a shower first.”
He knew that she was a clean freak. If she did not bathe, she would not be able to fall asleep throughout the night.
“No! I want to drink water.”
After taking merely a few steps, Dorothy asked for iced water.
Not only she just had a miscarriage, but Credence had forced her to donate blood. Hence, there was no way Juelz would allow her to have iced drinks.
However, Dorothy kept weeping but she refused to tell Juelz what was wrong.
Juelz finally gave in. He put her down on the sofa and poured her a glass of warm water. Then, he added some room-temperature water, telling her it was iced water.
Dorothy finished the water in one gulp. After having her thirst quenched, she looked up at Juelz with a bright smile.
There was a sheen of moisture on her soft lips, making her look exceptionally beautiful and charming. Juelz’s Adam’s apple moved. There was a burning desire in his heart.
“Do you want more water?”
Dorothy replied by shaking her head.
Seeing how obedient she was, Juelz could not help himself. He sat down next to her and grabbed a tissue to wipe some water droplets away from the corner of her mouth.
Dorothy did not move at all and allowed him to wipe her mouth.
“Dory, you’re so beautiful!”
Juelz was a little excited and dazed at the same time.
Ever since she married Credence, he did not have the chance to be this close to her. Also, he was not able to take care of her to his heart’s content.
She was a woman whom he had known for more than ten years. He only dared to kiss her in his dreams. He couldn’t help feeling that she had gotten more beautiful and feminine.
However, all her goodness only belonged to Credence. They never belonged to Juelz, even for one second!
Her choice was also his heart-wrenching regret.
But since Credence did not cherish her at all, he’s better not blame Juelz for grabbing this opportunity.
A fierce determination suddenly flashed across his mind. Juelz took out a beautiful gift box from his jeans pocket and said with a gentle smile, “Happy birthday, Dory! This is the thirteenth time I’m giving you a present since the year you saved me! And I’ll continue preparing birthday presents for you every year in the future.”
“What is this?”
Dorothy felt even more drunk as alcohol rushed to her brain. Her vision became even more blurry. Narrowing her eyes, she opened the box. It was a set of pink diamond jewellery, including a necklace, a pair of earrings, and a bracelet. She could even touch a shiny diamond ring. It was in the shape of a butterfly, which was her favorite.
In a blurry state, she vaguely remembered that she had once received a gift with a butterfly pattern.
She raised her head and smiled at Juelz. It was a sad, yet happy smile. “Credence, this is your second gift for me. I will definitely take good care of it. I’m sorry that I’ve lost the first gift you gave me… I don’t know how it ended up in Rosalie’s incident. Please believe me, I really did not do anything to her. I’ve loved you for ten years. Don’t you know what kind of person I am?”
“But Credence… Why do you even bother remembering my birthday? We are getting divorced anyway!”
Juelz’s body stiffened instantly. He did not expect that in Dorothy’s delirious state of mind, she still thought of Credence.
His heart that had been beating fast just now cooled down in an instant. He leaned closer to her ear, wanting to wake her up. He wanted to tell her that the person who gave her the gift was not Credence. It was him, Juelz Sherman, who had always loved her.
When he leaned over, Dorothy thought that he was going to take the gift back. She muttered in a low voice and pushed his face away. Before he could react, she suddenly leaned over and landed her soft lips on his left cheek.
It was a brief kiss.
Dorothy lifted her head slowly and stared deeply into Juelz’s eyes. With a bitter smile, she said, “Credence, loving you is painful beyond words. I don’t want to love you anymore!”
Almost at the same moment, Juelz felt a chill spreading throughout his body.
No matter what he did, or how much he did, he would never be able to surpass Credence in Dorothy’s heart.
With a wounded heart, Juelz’s eyes flickered with a mixture of sorrow and determination. He suddenly leaned over and kissed Dorothy on the lips…
Thinking that the man who kissed her was Credence, Dorothy closed her eyes subconsciously. She resisted his kiss while crying.
“Mm… No! Credence, let me go… No!”
“Credence…”
“Since you don’t love me, don’t give me hope anymore!”
The painful kiss was recorded by a tiny camera hidden under the crystal chandelier.
In less than three minutes, the scene where they were embracing in a kiss, as well as their photos taken at the entrance of the nightclub, were all sent to Credence’s mobile phone. Also, they had spread like wildfire online.

In the intensive care unit, Credence logged onto his private Facebook account after ending the call.
What greeted his sight was the intimate kissing scene of Juelz and Dorothy.
Credence’s pupils contracted instantly. He scrutinized the scene repeatedly, looking even more serious compared to when he was signing a contract worth billions of dollars.
He watched as Dorothy took the diamond ring affectionately from Juelz’s hand. Not only that, she even took the initiative to kiss him…
Credence locked his cold gaze on the phone screen in burning rage.
Didn’t she tell him that she had loved him for ten years, and she would only love him in this lifetime?
But now, after requesting a divorce, she could not wait to flirt with her so-called best male friend.
What a good wife she was!
