Mia’s pov
I tried to crontro how hard my heart was racing but I couldn’t help it, the smile on my face was almost making my cheeks hurt as well.
This is the third time in a row that a gift was arriving for me this week, and all were from Lorenzo as well.
When I had asked him why he kept sending me gifts the second time, he had told me it was just because he felt like it.
Somehow, it felt like that wedding which we both attended a week ago had some kind of magic in the air that day, because of that extremely perfect night spent with him whereby he had completely ravaged my entire body, the feud that followed that night had soo been so perfect that I sometimes stop to ask myself if all of these were real or not.
Lorenzo had made it a habit to kiss me randomly these days. I had been scared the morning after that wedding and that night in his bedroom, because I assumed he was gonna pull away and go back to avoiding me at all cost like he did after that first time we kissed but this time was completely different. He touched me even more these days, random touches of my face, my hands, my waist, my chin. And the kisses… the kisses were always perfect.
It doesn’t matter how many times he had kissed me now, it still managed to feel like something new every time, prompting my heart to race and my stomach to clench up nervously each time. Lorenzo seemed to relish in that reaction because his eyes used to darken each time.
Although he had never did more kissing after that night after the wedding, and even though I wanted to experience those heated, coursing feeling and that one that had engulfed me at the ending that had prompted me to pass out, I never feel less satisfied by just a kiss because the kisses was more than perfect for me.
The first gift he sent my way had been something I hadn’t even realized was needed, and the second one had been a pair of shoes. He had expressed how he loved me in those shoes which was why he didn’t make me take it off that night after the wedding, the entire thing we did was with my heels still on. It made me blush whenever I thought about that night.
This third gift though, Lorenzo was handling it to me by himself this time, and it had made me smile so damn hard.
“Are you gonna turn around so I can put it on you?” He asked, voice sounding dry and I hastily turned around and pulled my hair away from my neck.
It was the necklace.
The silver one which I had asked him if he was gonna get it at that auction which we had gone to, that particular one whereby he had caused commotion in and had killed some people in it while some of his men went to replace the original of something with a counterfeit.
It’s impossible to not recognize the silver necklace. It was so beautiful and its design was so pretty and unique.
“Didn’t know you ended up getting this necklace.” I mumbled through the smile on my face and he only gruffed in response. Once he was done, I turned back around while checking out the necklace on my chest.
“Like it?” He asked and I nodded my head vigorously. The side of his lip got tugged in amusement and then his hand stroked a few strands of hair from my face. I pushed my face into that touch because his hands felt warm and nice against my skin.
“Needy as always.” He whispered through a small chuckle and I flushed from embarrassment before a small scown settled on my face as I pulled away from him.

Dinner was perfect that night, and the night blended into another perfect day. Lorenzo was busy the next week almost although, but whenever he wasn’t, he was giving me kisses and just spending that time with me talking about a lot of random things at once.
One time, I mistakenly brought up the fact that he kidnapped me and had me trapped with him.
Of course, I regretted it immediately and wanted to take it back at once, but it was too late because Lorenzo heard it clearly and the smile that had been on his face had been wiped off in the blink of an eye.
“I…” I began to speak but he shook his head and sat up straighter and I silently berated my loud, dancing mouth. Things had been so good between us for a while and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to survive if we returned how we once were.
“You want me to let you go?” He asked and I shook my head without hesitation, and I meant it. Returning home was out of the question, and being allowed to wander around was definitely gonna lead me to my doom.
“I think we’ve both established the fact that I’m no longer killing yoy anymore, right? So don’t bring up the kidnapping thingy again, except I bring it up myself, okay?” He asked and I hastily nodded my head in understanding, heart racing deliciously when he closed the distance between us and tugged my jaw forward till he was giving me a bruising kiss.
~~~
Two nights later, I suddenly jolted awake and I found Lorenzo standing beside my bed, staring down at me. I didn’t get engulfed by fear like I’d have normally been, instead, my eyes caught the face that something was wrong and so I opened the blanket and tugged him down despite his reluctance at first. I remained silent, knowing that someone like him would appreciate that over prodding.
His grip was firm around his waist and his face buried in my chest as I slowly stroked his hair.
I continued to do that until after about thirty minutes had passed then I tried checking if he was asleep.
“Lorenzo, you asleep?”
“Almost.” He whispered, hands tightening around me and I hummed in response, before tentatively probing.
“Did something… happen?”
He remained silent for about a minute and I almost assumed he had fallen asleep, right before he responded.
“Nothing happened, just a nightmare.”
