Mia’s POV
I glanced forward, locking eyes with the man that I expected to save me right now, especially seeing as he was the one that practically dragged me into the situation in the first place, but he was only wearing a nonchalant smile on his face, all the agitation in the abandoned warehouse seem to be coming from me and the man behind me who was holding a gun to my skull, ready to unleash a load of lead at any given time.
He pressed it harder on my head as if he was trying to shove it through my ear, and even though he tried to appear relaxed, I could easily make out the terror on his face.
My eyes strayed towards the men that my kidnapper had beaten black and blue as if they were nothing more than little insects as they were all sprawled on the floor with their bodies twisted at absurd angles and groaning with pain from their broken bones.
It was a very gory sight for the eyes and I wish that there was some way that I could just peel it out from my memory.
However, my entire attention that was given to the beaten men was immediately stolen away when I heard my kidnapper’s voice after several seconds of everyone just breathing heavily in the warehouse.
“Then go ahead and shoot her…”
I instantly felt my heart drop down to my stomach and I looked at him with my lips apart in a shocked gasp, mouth parted wide enough for a fly to simply slip in without me noticing.
The anxiety that was now coming from the man behind me was so intense that I could feel it in my bones as they became taunt and tense.
“You are not serious about it, I know you don’t want me to kill her…and if you don’t let me go, I’ll shoot her right this minute right in the SKU-”
The rest of his words seem to die in his throat just as I had hoped, right as my kidnapper just yelled and placed his finger over his mouth then he looked at him with a dagger-like stare and said.
“Honestly, Fernando I am quite disappointed to imagine that I put you under my wing and this was the best idea you could come up with to defeat me? gathering a bunch of cockroaches like yourself hoping that you will make some kind of difference?”
Fernando gulped up a load of spit. What happened next came as a shock to me because in less than a split second he pushed me away as if someone had just whispered in his ear that I was carrying some kind of contagious disease and once again for the second time that night I found myself traveling down to the floor first face front.
Then I closed my eyes waiting for the impact because there was nothing close by to hold on to, but then once again that night, I found myself hanging mid-air and it was for the same reason as before.
He had caught me once again.
He was holding me by my waist with one hand, and then he pulled out his gun with the other without even a split second of hesitation, he released all the bullets in that gun, in the retreating figure of Fernando.
I had not even recovered from that, when he turned around still holding me as if I was some kind of ragdoll and then continued to shoot all of the men that were on the floor.
I was completely horrified and I couldn’t help the scream that flew past my lips as I buried my face in his chest in order to not look at the very gory sight any longer. He didn’t hesitate to shove me away at a point because I was hindering his movements.
When he was finally done, everywhere was painted red. I felt like I was about to puke as I glanced over the extremely battered and lifeless bodies.
But what made my stomach twist up even more, was when he finally turned around to regard me, I saw that he was stained with blood from the men that he had shot and he had a sick, wild smile on his face.
He looks so thrilled as if he had not just casually killed several men putting them down like rats.
Who was this man??
If I had not been scared of this man before, I was petrified now, if he could easily kill off people that had worked with him before without any hesitation because they were trying to betray, him then what will he do to me…someone that he doesn’t even care about.
Just thinking about all of these things was enough to make the warehouse start to spin. My legs became as light as jelly and gave up on holding the rest of my body but before I crumbled in a fall, he was there to catch me.
When I woke up, it was almost time for a new day to start and I let out a heavy sigh of relief.
Of course everything that I have just experienced was nothing but a dream or that was what I had assumed until I turned around and saw somebody sitting on a chair looking at me with razor-sharp eyes and an unreadable expression playing across his face.
“You are finally awake…” He stated and I was tempted to ask if he had been waiting by my bedside, looking at me from that chair, but for the sake of my sanity, I simply tucked that question away.
“… I don’t expect you to be passing out like that every time you see blood, okay?”
And that was when all the hope that I had that what I had experienced was a dream came crashing down.
So. I witnessed all of that violence.
“It’s going to get worse than this…much more worst, so I hope you are prepared.”
