If You Need A Shoulder To Cry On

Book:Miracle Doctor And Her Hot CEO Published:2024-6-4

Natasha, comfortably seated in Huxley’s car, spoke, “I hope this isn’t another trick of yours to kidnap me.”
Huxley smirked, “I wouldn’t dare. You are under the protection of the most powerful man in the city. I’m not that foolish.” He said as he drove.
Natasha, after not finding Huxley inside the living room, walked outside of the house only to see him leaning on his car. Huxley had claimed that he knows where Ruby and Zara are, and particularly, he knows where those two women are hiding her father.
She didn’t trust Huxley at all so she informed Naomi that Naomi should keep tracking her for she had sent her her live location, and that if her movement stops anywhere, she should call to check up. Should she not be able to reach out to her anymore, she should immediately report to the cops as well as find a way to inform Titiana who will in turn inform his brother.
At the end, she followed Huxley.
Soon, Huxley parked before a ranch style house and both adults stepped down from the car. Natasha, casting her gaze on the house wondered if this is where her father is.
“Come with me,” Huxley said.
“No, I’ll wait here.” Natasha said. She knew Huxley can’t just decide to help her, he must want something in return. Plus he disgusts her. Being around him always makes her flawlessly remember how cute their love used to be and how he ruined everything by cheating on her.
Huxley smirked briefly and walked inside the ranch home. About a few minutes later, he appeared with Zara. He was holding Zara’s hair forcefully, it’s apparent he had forced her out.
Then he dragged Zara closer to Natasha and made her kneel before her, “where’s my father?” Natasha asked the old woman.
“Inside.” Zara replied.
Natasha left her immediately and walked inside. On getting inside, she saw her father on the wheelchair, he looked like one that had a stroke. Apparently, he had not gotten better since they were in the hospital. But the blind old man had treated him and he was getting better, how did this suddenly befell him again?
“Father…” Natasha called sadly even as she walked towards her father. The man looked at her and raised his right hand up since the left hand is unmovable.
“I’m… so …. sorry,” Lewis Ivan cried. Natasha moved closer to him and let him caress her on her cheek while looking at her. “I was… fooled.” he struggled to say, watery saliva slipping down his mouth for half of his mouth was paralyzed too.
“Obviously father. Which is why I can’t leave you. You have hurt me and even disrespected mother. You went ahead and trusted your mistress… You can’t see those who love from those who just want your money.”
Lewis Ivan forced himself to nod. He regrets all of his actions of the past. “Forg… ive me.”
“It’s okay, father. Let me help you get better firstly,” Natasha said. Lewis Ivan wanted to utter a word but he had already spoken more words than his ability could let him so he couldn’t utter any coherent words.
Natasha soon got behind him and began to wheel him out. Zara was still kneeling outside.
“Huxley, will you please take my father and I home?”
“Sure,” Huxley said and helped Lewis Ivan inside the car. Soon, they sped off the scene.
Once Huxley parked before Natasha’s lodge, he helped her in bringing her father out of the car and placing her on the wheelchair, “I will leave now, Natasha.”
“I’m still yet to understand why you are acting like a saint, do you want something from me?” Natasha asked.
“I’ll talk to you later.” Huxley quickly got inside his car and started the ignition.
“And how about my money?” Natasha said out loud but Huxley was already moving the car. She could not help but wonder where he was rushing too.
Soon, Lewis Ivan was in Natasha’s living room. “Father, you will get better okay?” She assured him. Although she had no remedy to this particular sickness, Mr. Peller had been reluctant in teaching her more medical skills these days so she had to do all the research herself.
As she turned to walk away from him, Lewis Ivan grabbed her hand, “I’m so happy you forgive me, Natasha.” His words were more coherent than earlier.
Has she forgiven him? For the physical abuse and emotional abuse? She wasn’t sure. She just can’t get her father out of her head, doesn’t matter how vile he had been to her.
“I wish I remained a good father… to you,” he said, this time, tears were now streaming down his face.
“This is not the time to cry, father. Let me quickly start working on how you will recover,” she said.
“It’s too late, my daughter,” Lewis said. Those last words of his, ‘my daughter’ broke her. She didn’t know her father who had suddenly turned vile and hostile towards her would use those words to refer to her again. He didn’t even believe she was his daughter anymore.
“My forefathers have an asset in the city’s vault worth almost a billion dollars. I couldn’t… access it cause it was supposed to be there for a number of… years,” he swallowed hard. “It will be ripe for withdrawal in the next five years. Only show the DNA test that proves you are my daughter to the bank and they’ll…”he swallowed hard. “they will give you access to take it all.”
“It hurts me that I’m not able to play with my grandchildren, I regret so many things,” said Lewis Ivan.
Natasha was stunned at the secret her father just revealed, “Father, stop talking as if you will die, just trust me, okay?” She asked her father but instead of the man to respond, his head went down.
“Father!” She lifted his head up but the man had stopped breathing. “Father!” She screamed in agony. “No… no… You can not die… you can’t. I lost mother a few months ago, you can’t follow, father!” She screamed in pain.
Naomi quickly rushed out of the children’s room and her heart sank into an abyss on seeing Natasha holding her dead father, crying in misery.
Naomi walked closer to Natasha slowly, “Naomi… it hurts… it hurts so bad.”
Naomi hugged her slowly, she had silent tears streaming down her face too. The pain was incredible for Natasha.
About an hour later, Natasha picked up her phone and called Zara angrily. Once she picked up, Natasha spoke, “I swear, you and your daughter will pay for what you did to my father.”
“Oh he’s dead?” Zara asked, “I couldn’t let him die here.”
Took a while before Natasha processed what the woman said, “oh! That was why you let me find you?”
“That was why I sent Huxley to bring you over. Huxley was only acting according to script. He’s done with his job and he has been paid,” answered Zara.
Natasha finally understood why Huxley had suddenly paid her an unexpected visit, claiming she knew where her father was. Zara had told her to come over and inform her about her father’s whereabouts so that her father wouldn’t die with them. Apparently, they knew he had only a few hours left to live.
It’s no wonder Huxley quickly left.
“You will pay, I assure you.” Natasha said and hung the call up. Looking at her dead father on the wheelchair hurts her to the gut.
She won’t rest until Zara and Ruby get their payback. Those two witches murdered her parents and took all her family’s assets away. Maybe not all since her father had revealed a billion dollar secret to her.
Two days later, Natasha stood before her father’s burial with two flowers in her hand. She had ensured that both her father and her mother were buried right beside each other. To think she’s a miracle doctor yet she lost both of her parents to incurable diseases. Even Though her parents were sick and are not likely to recover, it still doesn’t justify what Zara and Ruby did. Technically, they murdered her parents.
She had two goals right now, first was to put more effort in learning traditional medicine eo that no one around her will ever be struck with such incurable disease and second is to deal with her stepmother and stepsister. But firstly, she needed to claim her father’s properties from them even though she knew it wouldn’t be easy.
Natasha dropped to her knees, right before the two graves and placed the flower gently on the graves. With a broken heart, she shivered, “mom, dad, I miss you.”
For she remembered how loving and peaceful her family had been. She grew up under her loving father and mother, who genuinely showed her all the love in the world. She was never in need of anything. They sponsored her all through school, even when her mother fell sick, her father was still there for her.
She didn’t expect for everything to start falling apart immediately after her mother’s departure. Natasha sobbed for so long. After she felt slightly less burdened, she stood and turned. She wished she could rewind time to when they were happy together. She wondered what her mother’s reaction would be if she was alive and healthy, to find out she had beautiful grandchildren. Sadly, her children will never have a grandfather nor a grandmother.
As she walked out of the grave sites, she saw a super looking expensive car drive slowly towards her, then the person inside stepped down and her eye brow raised on seeing Dmitry. What shocked her even more was that he was holding two flowers.
“This is for your parents,” he said gently.
Tears rushed down like a full cloud emptying its rain, she didn’t know that there was someone in the world that would be willing to honor her dead parents.
How beautiful is it to see that the most powerful man in the City is here with flowers to honor her parents.
“Thank… you,” she said in the middle of her tears.
Dmitry brought out his handkerchief, but this time, he didn’t hand it over to her, instead, he cleaned her tears himself then he said to her, “if you need a shoulder to cry on…”
Natasha crashed on his huge and muscular body and cried so hard on his shoulder, hugging him dearly as if her life depends on it.
