Chapter 157 Henson, You B*stard!

Book:Mr. Charles's Hidden Wife Published:2024-5-1

After exiting her house, Wendy suddenly wondered why they returned to her place in the first place.
Weren’t there paparazzi at the door? She was unsure if they’d been caught on camera or not.
It would be even more dangerous if she exited with Henson now.
She took a deep breath, sent him a text, and left by herself first.
After stepping into the elevator, she bent down to pat her sore legs.
“So this is the aftermath of doing it,” she thought to herself.
Henson told her before that he didn’t use any toys when they did it last time. So, if they did it the same way they did before, then why was it that the ache she felt now was way more intense than it was back then?
“Could it be… that his… member was bigger?” She thought and immediately flushed crimson.
and immediately flushed crimson.
When he’d finished his shower, he noticed that she was already gone.
He looked aside and chuckled. It seemed like she didn’t understand what he’d said last time about how she could never fully escape from his grasp. He then wiped his hair dry in a nonchalant manner and strode to the bed to pick up his phone.
He planned to give her a call, but he saw that she’d sent him a text first.
He clicked on the notification and it read,
“I had to leave first to avoid getting caught on camera by those pesky paparazzi. You be careful when you leave too.”
He raised an eyebrow and called her anyways.
She hesitated for quite a while before picking up the phone. “Hello?” She answered.
“Where are you now?” He asked.
“At the entrance outside.”
“Stand there. Don’t move.”
“I need to go to campus first if not I’ll be late.”
With his eyebrows still raised, he asked, “Are you sure about that?”
“Absolutely, so I’ll be hanging up now,” she replied, confused. Why wouldn’t she be sure?
“Since that’s the case, you better not blame me if anything happens on campus later,” he said, amused.
She felt perplexed by his statement. What was the worst that could happen?
The worst that could happen was if he appeared in front of her right now, which would make things super awkward.
But upon arriving at the bus stop, she decided to ditch her plans of taking the bus after some thought, as she assumed he would drive by her with his car later. She extended her hand to hail a cab instead.
It was only 7:15 am when she arrived on campus, as she left home early and had skipped breakfast.
There weren’t many students on campus at that hour, but all three students who walked past her had their gazes fixed on her neck, which made her wonder what they were looking at.
wonder what they were looking at.
She decided not to give it more thought after walking for some distance. She later stepped into her office and poured herself a cup of warm water to drink.
She started to feel somewhat peckish, so she fished out her meal card. Just as she was about to head out of the office, she noticed Linda coming into the office at the same time.
Upon seeing her, she gave her a warm smile. “How come you’re so early today, Linda?” She asked.
“I have to meet a student in a bit. We have a few things to discuss,” Linda said as her gaze gradually fell on her neck.
Seeing as how she was looking at her neck with such a bashful expression on, she frowned and instinctively touched her neck. “What is it, Linda?” She asked, confused.
“You…” Linda hesitated for a moment before pointing at her neck. “You two really went at it hard last night, huh?” She teased.
“Huh?” She gasped then spun around as if she just recalled something.
She whipped out her handbag and quickly took out a pocket mirror to use to look at her neck.
She felt like burying herself deep underground at that moment.
At the front of her neck were already five or six hickeys. She couldn’t imagine how many more there were elsewhere on her body.
Thinking to what he’d said just now when he called, a twinge of annoyance surged in her and she suddenly felt the urge to stomp him.
The man definitely saw all of it, so why didn’t he bother to at least tell her?
He was diabolical.
She felt so embarrassed at the moment.
Seeing her annoyance, Linda guessed that she wasn’t aware of the hickeys on her neck,
so she took off her scarf and wrapped it around Wendy’s neck.
“It’s a bit chilly out today, Miss Evans. Seeing as how little you’re wearing, I thought this scarf that I just bought would suffice for you. This is my second day wearing it, but it’s still pretty clean. You can use it if you don’t mind,” Linda offered.
She looked at Linda with a flustered look on her face and replied, “Thank you so much, Linda,”
Linda gave her shoulder a few pats. “We’re both working in the same office, so there’s no need to be polite,” she said.
With that, she scooped up a few papers on her desk and went on her way.
Wendy heaved a sigh of relief as she held onto her meal card all the way to the cafeteria.
While munching on her food, she thought about phoning Henson up to ask him why he hadn’t told her about the hickeys.
But just as she was about to do so, she encountered Cael, her colleague working in the same office.
Cael was carrying a tray of food when he took a seat opposite her. “Ah, Miss Evans! I believe this is my first time meeting you in the canteen,” he said jovially.
“I usually prepare my own breakfast, but I felt a bit lazy today, which is why I’m here now,” she explained and giggled.
After finishing their meal, they returned to the office together.
Carmen had also just arrived and she saw her wearing a scarf. “Hey, didn’t Linda wear that scarf yesterday?” She quizzed.
Wendy slid a hand to her neck instantly. “Yep, it is. I wore too little before going out today, and so happened to bump into Linda today, so she lent me her scarf,” she explained.
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, Cael, but anyone with a good figure and good looks will be able to pull of any look they want, and that includes scarves. See, when Linda put it on yesterday, I didn’t feel that it looked that special on her, but after seeing you put it on today, Miss Evans, one can instantly see how important it is to choose the right model,” Carmen snickered.
Cael chuckled in response. “I suppose it does have a lot to do with her good-nature,” he replied.
While her gaze was still fixed on her, Carmen stepped forward and said, “You’re just too stunning, Miss Evans. Seeing you wear this makes me want to buy one for myself. Ooh, can you take it off so that I can try it on? I want to see if it suits me or not.”
Seeing as she was coming towards her, Wendy grabbed onto the scarf out of nervousness. “I’m afraid this scarf won’t look good on you, Carmen,” she hurriedly said.
The moment she finished her sentence, she realized she might’ve just offended her.
Not surprisingly, Carmen’s expression turned chilly in an instant.
Cael exchanged a look with Wendy but didn’t say anything.
Carmen was understandably upset after hearing that. “You might be the prettiest professor on campus, Miss Evans, but ragging on us common folk was a bit uncalled for, don’t you think?” She huffed.
“I didn’t mean it like that, Carmen. I just mean that this scarf doesn’t suit your skin tone. Now that you mentioned it, I bought a scarf recently and I just realised that its colour doesn’t suit me, but I noticed that it might suit you. So, if you don’t mind, I can bring it along with me tomorrow to let you try it on, how’s that?” Wendy suggested in an apologetic manner.
“I doubt there’s a scarf out there that doesn’t suit you,” Carmen said and pouted.
“Of course, there are loads. Not every item of clothing suits me,” Wendy said.
“I suppose so. I also just realised that this colour might make me look older than I am,” Carmen said
with a satisfied look on her face. She then returned to her desk to start work.
Wendy heaved a sigh of relief. But before she could sit down at her desk, she heard Carmen remind her, “Make sure you bring me that scarf tomorrow, Miss Evans.”
“Alright, I won’t forget,” she replied with a nod and polite smile as she sat down in her chair.
