Chapter 94 Marry me.

Book:Mr. Charles's Hidden Wife Published:2024-5-1

Wendy was deeply moved.
So… did he really come here to deliver the food to her?
“Here you are. And you can try this.”
Looking at the beautifully packaged cardboard box, Wendy asked, “It seems to be some desserts, right?”
“What? You don’t like desserts? ”
“Yes. I just wonder why you don’t buy some common food instead of desserts?”
“In my opinion, you’re really hungry, but just in a bad mood. I checked on the internet, which says that you girls would like to eat desserts most when you are unhappy. Isn’t it right?”
She lowered her eyes to chuckle for his words.
Henson was embarrassed, thinking that he might have made a mistake?
“Why are you laughing?”
Wendy received the desserts with a smile, “Yes, I like eating desserts, especially sweet ones.”
Wendy suddenly felt her mood was lighter. Then she turned around to walk to her community.
Henson looked at her to call her name, “Wendy.”
She turned around, “Huh?”
Henson then approached her and asked, “What happened today?”
Wendy pursed her lips with lowered eyes, “Let’s just forget that. I don’t want to feel unhappy again.”
“It’s the Nicholson family again?”
Wendy looked at him and nodded.
“I’ll help you to tackle with them.”
Wendy shook her head. “No. I don’t like Ken, so I don’t want to get involved with them anymore. If you continue to target them again, they will have to blame that on me.”
Thinking of the times she met with Ken in the past two months, it had already been bigger than that of the common three years in the past.
She didn’t like to see Ken’s repulsive face again.
Henson nodded. “Okay, when you want to get revenge, you can tell me. Then I can start a war for you at any time.”
Wendy pursed her lips and said helplessly, “I don’t need a war, ok?”
“But as for the Nicholson family and Charles Families, it is a war, a business war.”
“By the way, what are your grudges with them? Why are you so afraid of each other?”
“The Charles family has never been afraid of the Nicholson family. As for what has happened…”
Henson raised his hand to caress her head, “You don’t need to know that for you are not a member of them in my eyes .”
Wendy felt a little touched for he had really not treated her as a Nicholson.
Then in that case, how could he have another purposes to approach her?
She was just a common person, who had no value to him.
He treated her well just for he wanted to.
She could not love him.
But she could make friends with him. Even if he didn’t think her in that way, she would still treat him as a good friend.
“Why do you look at me in that strange way?” Henson stared at her.
Wendy pursed her lips to smile. She just held the dessert box in her arms.
After a while, she suddenly promised, “Henson, if one day you need my help, I will try my best to help you.”
Henson laughed ‘disdainfully’, “I won’t need a woman’s help for I would never let myself to fall into that situation.”
“Don’t look down upon our women, especially a woman like me. I will keep my words. Wait and see.”
“So, in fact now, you don’t even bother to say thanks to me but just give me a ‘dishonored check’, right?”
Wendy glanced at him and then continued walking. “I’ve said that I’ll keep my words.”
“Then if I say I need you help now, will you help me?”
“Speak.”
“Marry me.”
Henson chuckled, “I want you to be Mrs. Charles, my wife now.”
“Henson, please be more serious about this promise. About these sweet words, I have heard too much from you so that I would even not flush anymore.”
Wendy then snorted with a smile and turned back to continue her walking.
Henson followed her. “I’m serious. But you always don’t give me an answer.”
“You know that I won’t agree with you on that, but you still keep saying to me. Should I praise you for your tenacity, or just call you willful?”
“You always have so many words to hurt me.”
“Sorry, but before knowing you, I have already known those words.”
They chatted and laughed to the building.
Wendy was still walking forward, but Henson suddenly stopped.
“Miss Evans.” called Henson.
“Yes,” replied Wendy, who was pushing open the door.
“Later after you finished these desserts, you could have a hot bath, and rest early.”
Curiously, Wendy turned around her head and asked, “You’re not coming upstairs with me?”
“If you invite me, then I will. After all, I kinda like your little room.”
“No, I won’t invite you. I will have all the desserts alone. I don’t want you to share them with me.”
“Then after you finish them, you should send me an picture to prove that you have not lied to me. And you really like these desserts.”
Wendy looked at him with a complicated feeling that he actually didn’t go upstairs with her?
Somehow, she felt kinda disappointed.
“Alright, okay, I will send you the pictures. Drive carefully.”
“You could go up first. After I see the lights in your room are switched on, I will leave soon.”
Wendy smiled and walked away.
After arriving at home, Wendy turned on the light. Then she ran to the window to look down.
It’s a litter far between them but Wendy could still see Henson waving at her.
She smiled and waved to him too even though she knew he couldn’t see her.
After Henson left, she turned around to the table to open the dessert box.
A sudden smile then spread all over her face.
Did he take her as a three-year-old kid? He actually bought her several fairy cakes. One of them was even the Princess Elsa.
After taking a picture of all of them,  Wendy started to eat them.
She was full. But, she could still squeeze two more small cakes into her stomach.
Her hand reaching the third one, her cell phone rang.
She thought it was from Henson and quickly wiped her hands with a tissue.
But it turned out not to be him.
A strange call.
“Hello?” Wendy picked up the phone.
“Hello, is that Miss Evans?”
Wendy frowned, “Yes. May I ask who is that?”
“Hello, Miss Evans. I am Dayne, Mr. Charles’s secretary. We had a meal together in our company’s canteen before.”
“Yes, I remember. Dayne. So what can I do for you?”
“I just want to ask you if Mr. Charles is with you right now.”
Wendy felt embarrassed, “He… just left.”
“Well, we’re in for trouble now. ”
“What’s wrong?” asked Wendy with worry.
“Before we were having a meeting with the foreign partners in the company. But then Mr. Charles received a call and suddenly left, so that we had to suspended the meeting to wait for him. But it has been about an hour now and Mr. Charles still has not come back. I am afraid this deal of hundreds of millions of dollars will be withdrawn.”
