Chapter 15 Swapped Sperm Sample

Book:Alpha's Rise and Luna's Love Published:2024-6-4

In the formidable world of werewolves, even when chased by enemies, brave werewolves always maintain a strong fighting spirit, engaging in life-or-death battles until their last breath.
But just now, faced with a vulnerable woman pouring her heart out, Aldrich was caught off guard and fled. He feared that if he listened a little longer, if he allowed himself to linger in Maggie’s unique presence, he would involuntarily begin to care about her and commit to helping her. He always struggled to suppress his wolf’s desire to care for and protect Maggie.
However, he bore a heavy responsibility. He had to remain vigilant at all times for the welfare of the werewolf community. He understood that every action he took was for the greater good of the werewolf race. He couldn’t lose control, especially when it came to a fragile, seemingly insignificant human woman.
“Aldrich, always remember your duty!” Aldrich reminded himself in his heart. He pushed open the office door, and the dean had been waiting there for a while.
Maggie’s test report was spread out on the desk.
As Aldrich entered the office, the atmosphere became unusually tense. The dean quivered and said, “Mr. Barrett, we just found out that Maggie has been pregnant for two months. We didn’t detect it when we checked for compatibility with your sperm earlier. This is a severe negligence on the hospital’s part, please forgive us!”
Aldrich was equally troubled. “I don’t have time to waste, Walliams. I can’t trust you anymore.”
“No, Mr. Barrett, please trust us!” The dean couldn’t accept failure, especially when failure meant losing the substantial investment provided by Aldrich.
Once Aldrich was determined, he didn’t waver. He issued a cold command: “I will terminate all cooperation with the hospital. For the sake of privacy and security, I want you to immediately return the remaining sperm samples to me.”
The dean stood frozen, his face ashen, sweating profusely in his palms. Panic surged through his veins, and remorse mercilessly overwhelmed him.
“The samples… the remaining samples… have all been used up,” his voice trembled, each word growing smaller and almost disappearing into silence.
“What did you say! You’ve wasted all of my sperm samples?” Qualifiable sperm samples were incredibly hard to come by, especially Alphas like Aldrich. In an instant, Aldrich was in front of the dean, his presence akin to a hurricane. With one hand, he effortlessly lifted the dean from the ground. Anger caused Aldrich’s eyes to flash with a faint red hue, his face contorted, revealing his fangs, and the situation was on the brink of explosion.
If Aldrich exerted even a bit more force, the dean knew he would lose his life. The fear of death enveloped him, and he desperately pleaded, “Mr. Barrett, for the sake of our many years of cooperation, spare me. I promise you, your sperm will never be used maliciously. I swear on the entire hospital and my life!”
He had secretly instructed his assistant to swap Aldrich’s sperm for the basketball player’s sperm chosen for Maggie. Maggie was the sole match, and the other samples had been used up in previous tests. He genuinely believed he had made no mistake.
Aldrich roared with anger, his wolf instincts urging him to tear the person before him apart. He advanced coldly toward the dean’s neck, sharp teeth glistening with an icy light. The dean dared not move and helplessly repeated, “Please, believe me, Maggie is the only one whose genes currently match yours. We used your sperm sample when she got pregnant. However, I don’t know why the pregnancy test results show two months. I’m devoted to you; spare me…”
“Ahh…” Aldrich roared, forcefully throwing the dean to the ground. He regained his icy composure and said, “You should consider yourself fortunate. At the moment, I can’t sense any signs of your betrayal.”
The dean quivered all over, lying on the ground, gasping for breath like a fish out of water. “Thank you, thank you…”
“You listen here. I expect you to provide an explanation as soon as possible. If my sperm has caused trouble due to misuse, you better be prepared to be torn to shreds by me.” Aldrich no longer paid attention to the quivering figure on the ground and walked away.
Charlie watched the pale-faced dean and shook his head. He quickened his pace and caught up with his boss.
It was already evening, and the nightlife in the human world was just beginning. Christmas was approaching, and the streets were filled with laughter and cheer. However, Aldrich’s expression remained icy as he strode through the building. His assistant, Charlie, followed closely behind.
They entered the VIP-exclusive elevator, and Aldrich gazed at the bustling crowd below through the transparent glass windows. Charlie spoke up at the right moment, “Boss, your current state might not be suitable for continuing work. Perhaps you need some rest.”
Aldrich remained unfazed. Charlie was well aware that convincing Aldrich was nearly impossible. An image of a fragile human woman flashed in Charlie’s mind, but he shook his head and paid her no further attention. She didn’t belong in their world; she wasn’t part of their world. They were destined to be strangers.
However, Aldrich suddenly took a step forward, and Charlie’s gaze followed, always ready to obey Aldrich’s commands.
“Notify them that these two individuals are no longer allowed to enter our mall for shopping. My mall will not provide them with service or welcome them!” The words Aldrich uttered from his thin lips took Charlie by surprise.
You see, Aldrich carried numerous responsibilities and constantly pondered critical matters for the werewolf community. When would he have time to care about such trivial matters?
Charlie was speechless and stammered, “Wh-what? Who are these two people?”
Aldrich accurately pointed to the counter below, where Linda was admiring expensive handbags, with Max in her company.
Charlie was quite perplexed. “Boss, what’s the story with these two? Is it really so simple to refuse service to them just like that? Shouldn’t we send someone to investigate? They’re just regular people, but if you suspect them of colluding with rogues, I can have them arrested for questioning. You can trust me; I’ll handle everything perfectly, leaving no room for error…”
“No need.” Aldrich withdrew his gaze, feeling that continuing to observe these two was a waste of time. When he noticed Charlie’s puzzled expression, he cleared his throat. “I just really don’t like them.”
Charlie could hardly believe the response he received. However, Aldrich showed no intention of explaining. He walked out of the elevator without looking back.
With his back turned to Charlie, Aldrich didn’t appear as composed as he seemed. Charlie’s surprised expression reminded Aldrich once again of the foolish things he had done because of Maggie.
Aldrich sternly reminded himself that the turmoil involving Maggie had come to an end. He had been absurd to entertain the idea that the woman had accidentally become pregnant with his child. That strange and familiar scent had momentarily confused him. He would have no further contact with this woman. Now, he needed to wisely utilize his time to find a suitable partner and have his own offspring as soon as possible.
