In the vast galaxy, stars adorn the night sky.
After seeing Matteo off, Flynn ordered some barbecue that Scarlet loved and returned home with the suit Rose had dry-cleaned for him.
In the living room, Scarlet was lying on the sofa with her feet up.
She was only wearing one of Flynn’s white shirts, which barely covered her hips, with a hint of cartoon underwear peeking through. Her smooth legs were bare, making it hard to look away.
“I thought you were drinking with your brother-in-law until late.” Scarlet got up to greet Flynn when he returned.
An hour ago, Scarlet had contacted Flynn and knew he was having dinner with Matteo.
Flynn placed the takeout on the table and handed a grilled corn to Scarlet. “Mr. Kaur had a few too many drinks today, so I sent him back early.”
“Do they know about the divorce?” Scarlet asked while nibbling on the corn.
Flynn shook his head and sighed, “Mr. Kaur still wants to have grandchildren next year.”
If Matteo found out about this, he might faint on the spot.
But what could be done?
Madeline had requested to keep it a secret, leaving Flynn with no choice.
Besides, even if they knew, what difference would it make?
What’s done is done, and Flynn could not remarry.
Scarlet, perceptive as always, noticed Flynn’s reluctance to discuss the matter and changed the subject. “What job did you arrange for Molly?”
“As my secretary, organizing documents and making tea.” Flynn replied.
Scarlet, astonished, shook her head and laughed, “Miss George is so determined. She’s willing to do anything just to see the God of War.”
Flynn, however, was troubled. “This girl has some issues. If she doesn’t adjust her mindset, she might cause trouble.”
As they continued chatting, Flynn brought up what had happened in Rose’s office.
“Is Miss George really the sister of the second in command? Did he die because of her?” Scarlet was surprised and shook her head sadly.
Flynn nodded, “This girl is ambitious, feels guilty about her brother’s death, and has been affected by Kendal’s words. She’s not as strong as she appears.”
“If she can’t overcome her inner demons, her martial arts won’t improve. Seeking revenge for her family would be a fool’s dream.”
“She’s so focused on seeking death that, if she encounters a strong opponent, she’ll likely face them with a death wish, with predictable consequences.”
The night she had killed the King of Poison, Molly had known that Brady and Layla had already lost, yet she had still pursued the King of Poison without hesitation, showing that she was willing to risk her life.
“What should we do? Miss George is already feeling guilty, and if Kendal keeps hitting her, it will only make her more unstable.” Scarlet worried.
Flynn explained, “Molly has locked herself in a cage, and she can only rely on herself to break free. If she could open up, others might be able to help, but this girl is too stubborn.”
“It’s best to help her, after all, she’s part of The Spencer family, and if something goes wrong at Orco Real Estate, it won’t look good.” Scarlet insisted.
Flynn, however, was dismissive, “I agreed to take Molly in not because of The Spencer family, but merely to repay the loyalty of The George family.”
“The Spencer family is not worth a second look from me.”
Scarlet was astonished. The first family of Shipmeda State, a governor’s family, not worth a second look? Then who would be?
This guy was way too arrogant.
Even if he was a Great Grandmaster and a superior doctor, his pride shouldn’t be that high, right?
“Is everything okay with Energence Pharmaceuticals? You mentioned developing a medicine for the side effects of Acebegron Clear Relief. How’s it going?” Scarlet asked.
Flynn said, “It’s going smoothly, but a girl in the research department got injured today.”
“I helped treat her, and if she can go to work tomorrow, the new drug will be ready before Acebegron Clear Relief’s issues are exposed.”
“Soo, that girl.” Scarlet narrowed her eyes and smirked. “She must be very pretty.”
Flynn furrowed his brow, “What do you mean?”
Scarlet made a fist and pinched her nose, “You were reading a magazine about Nordic beauties yesterday, and today you’re volunteering to treat a young girl. If she’s not pretty, would you be this eager?”
Last night when Flynn was waiting for her in the hotel lobby, he was engrossed in reading a magazine.
This old pervert might have a hidden agenda.
Flynn couldn’t help but be speechless and explained, “I agreed to help her because of Rose’s concern. Trusova is a poison expert, and without her, clinical trials of the new drug would be delayed, which could lead to major problems.”
“But I won’t deny that she’s quite something. She’s much bustier and has a bigger… butt…”
“I will kill you!” Scarlet was startled and pinched Flynn, looking angry.
Scarlet had an attractive figure and a flawless appearance, a mix of innocence and allure. Her long legs were as straight and slender as Lilia’s, and would draw anyone’s gaze.
However, Trusova had a bigger bust, exaggerated curves, and more three-dimensional features. Compared to the slim models, she appeared more voluptuous.
“And she has a shiny belly button piercing, any man who sees that wouldn’t be able to resist.”
Both of them had their own charm and qualities. Different types of cuisine may taste different, but they’re both delicious…
“You can laugh all you want, with your love life flourishing, and a promising future. You might even become a successful jerk!” Scarlet glared at him and turned her head away.
Flynn hugged her around the waist and pulled her close, smiling. “Is your body still sore? I admit I was too rough last night. But I’ve been holding back for over twenty years, I couldn’t control myself.”
“Especially since you’re so beautiful…”
Scarlet’s face turned red, and she pursed her lips shyly. This guy was really riling her up with every sentence.
She couldn’t help but blush when she thought about last night. Especially that moment on the stairs and in the kitchen, it was like a storm.
This kind of situation was over and done with, Flynn mentioned it, and she was forced to recall it all over again. How embarrassing!
“I let you sleep, and you saw blood. Will an apology be enough? Regretful or impulsive?” Scarlet pouted, rolling her eyes.
Flynn quickly shook his head and held her flushed cheeks, smiling. “No, I just feel like I was too rough.”
Scarlet raised an eyebrow and brushed her hand inside Flynn’s shirt, teasing him with a mischievous smile. “Actually, I was quite satisfied with your performance last night.”
She wrapped her arms around Flynn’s neck and whispered in his ear, “But if you really want to apologize, then carry me to the bedroom now.”
