After a brief discussion, the beauties in the R&D department decided to go to Phoenix Manor for some golfing, dining and singing. They arrived quickly and as soon as Flynn stepped onto the golf course, he saw two familiar figures – Madeline and River.
River’s face went from amused to gloomy when he saw Flynn surrounded by beautiful women. Madeline also frowned as she walked over and glanced at the women around Flynn before speaking coldly.
“Why are you here?”
“Ms. Sharp asked everyone in R&D to take a break, so I came along. What about you? Do you need something from River?” Flynn replied calmly.
“The Peninsula Group’s business is going smoothly but I’m looking for more projects. The Stewart family has a good one so I came over to ask,” Madeline nodded with a smile.
So Flynn came over to be a bodyguard for the research and development department!
Madeline thought he found out about her being at the golf course through her dad and came over to flatter her.
What she feared most was Matteo betraying her or intentionally reminding Flynn to spend more time with her.
Now it seemed like she was too sensitive.
“I don’t want to be involved with Flynn, not because of Nathan, but because I simply don’t like him,” Madeline reasoned to herself, finding an excuse for her sensitivity.
“Oh, how did it go?” Flynn asked.
A strange thought flashed through his mind.
Since Madeline knew he was helping Rose, why bother going to River for a project?
Perhaps she couldn’t accept the truth for a moment and wanted to make a name for herself.
“Not very smoothly. The price they offered was too low, so there wasn’t much profit in it,” Madeline replied casually.
Just as she finished speaking, River walked over.
A few young people followed behind him.
They were indulgent, unruly, and dressed in designer brands, likely from wealthy families.
Their gazes fell upon the beautiful women of the research and development department, their faces showing astonishment.
Among the thirteen beautiful women in the department, any one of them had higher looks than the several socialites who were with them.

“Mr. Clark, coming to such an upscale place, do you want to play golf? It costs three hundred thousand to become a member here! If you don’t become a member, it’s twenty thousand for a game,” River joked with a smirk.

“How could he not know? This is Flynn, who has been stealing Rose’s limelight!” River looked coldly at Flynn, his eyes showing a chilling light.
“That abandoned heir of the Clark family who spent ten years in prison, Madeline’s husband? The dog Rose is raising?”
“Heh, according to Mr. Stewart, this dog particularly enjoys biting people. How is he still alive?”
“Rose is really impressive. Instead of using retired soldiers, she lets a convict be the head of the security team. Doesn’t that tarnish the reputation of Energence Pharmaceuticals?”
The eyes of the young masters narrowed, and their faces were filled with determination.
They were River’s friends and had heard about the conflict between the two. Naturally, they had nothing good to say.
Madeline sternly said to Flynn, “Everyone is just joking, don’t mind them. There’s an empty space over there, let’s go there.”
Seeing Flynn’s dark expression, afraid of causing another incident, she quickly asked Flynn to avoid them.
“Hey, don’t go!” the chubby guy said with a half-smile.
“Mr. Clark, being from a prestigious family, you must be good at golf, right? How about a comparison with Mr. Stewart to impress everyone?”
“If you win, I’ll cover all the expenses here today. If you lose, you can be our caddy, how about that?”
“Not interested,” Flynn said indifferently.
“Not interested?” River shook his head, sneering, “If you can’t, you can’t. Why pretend?”
“If you know how to play golf, let’s have a little match. If you win, I’ll double the price for Madeline’s project.”
“If you lose, you can be my caddy for the afternoon.”
“Hmm… don’t say I’m bullying you. How about this, my best score is seventy-two, so I’ll give you forty strokes. How about that?”
Someone who was abandoned by the Clark family from a young age, lived as a scavenger for over ten years, and then went to prison, probably hadn’t even set foot on a golf course!
Flynn became a little impatient and said, “I just think it’s a waste of time to compete with someone like you. It’s been dragging on for a ridiculous eighteen strokes.”
“Damn! Eighteen strokes? Is this guy joking?”
“A golf course has eighteen holes, including four par fives, ten par fours, and four par threes, so the standard score is seventy-two. Being able to play within ninety strokes is considered skilled. Do you understand?”
It seemed like he had never played golf before, yet he still wanted to show off like an idiot!
Everyone burst into laughter, looking at Flynn as if he were a fool.
Flynn shrugged indifferently and said, “If you count them, aren’t there just eighteen holes? Can’t you just hit the ball into one of them with one swing?”
“Hahaha… Mr. Clark must be dreaming. Saying something like that, he’s undoubtedly a country bumpkin!”
“The world’s lowest record is only fifty-eight strokes. Do you think you can hit a hole-in-one with every swing? Is this guy from the comedy?”
River and the others laughed so hard they couldn’t straighten their backs.
They couldn’t understand how Flynn had the audacity to say such things. Even the world champion of golf wouldn’t dare to make such arrogant claims!
Even the employees of the research and development department frowned.
They felt that Flynn had gone too far.
Among the 18 holes in golf, the longest one had a distance of 450 meters. Could Flynn hit the golf ball into the hole from such a distance with just one swing?
It was likely that standing at the first hole, he couldn’t even see where the hole was, let alone hit a hole-in-one!
“Mr. Clark, don’t blame us for laughing. Even those beautiful ladies don’t believe it!”
“How about we give it a try? Maybe he really can do it in eighteen strokes!”
River grinned slyly.
He had long wanted to seize an opportunity to make Flynn look bad. Since this fool was so full of himself, he had to make sure Flynn couldn’t live up to the challenge.
If Flynn agreed to the competition, he was confident that he could beat Flynn by thirty strokes, as he was skilled in this area.
If Flynn refused, then his bragging would be exposed, and those beautiful ladies would also look down on him.
No matter how he looked at it, Flynn would end up embarrassing himself!
Flynn thought for a moment and casually said, “Let’s play a game then.”
In fact, he couldn’t care less about competing with River.
There were two reasons for that:
Firstly, Flynn didn’t care about the opinion of trash like River.
Secondly, he noticed that River’s complexion was abnormal. His ears were turning purple, his eyelids were pale, and his cheeks had a reddish-brown hue, indicative of severe hypertension.
River had passed out at an art exhibition before, and his health had been deteriorating since then.

River was Rose’s enemy, and Flynn wanted to leave him for Rose to deal with.
