Chapter 290 You Mean The Problem Is Underground?

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2024-6-4

“Mr. Wong, how could he be Mr. Price’s master when he’s so young? This joke is getting out of hand.”
“I know, right? There are grandmasters in their twenties, but they’re all prodigies. Before the age of thirty, there are only a few grandmasters, and this guy is definitely not one of them.”
“If he’s a grandmaster, why did he run away yesterday instead of just killing the bat with one kick like Molly did?”
The people present didn’t believe Uriah’s words at all. They felt that his praise for Flynn was too absurd and couldn’t understand why Uriah would say such things about him since Flynn didn’t seem like a grandmaster in any way.
Charlie smiled and said to Uriah, “Mr. Wong, I know you invested five billion dollars in Energence Pharmaceuticals and I came here today to persuade you to withdraw your investment.”
“Because Energence Pharmaceuticals has no chance against the Swanson Group and other two companies; there is no hope for success. Don’t try to fool me into working with Ms. Sharp.”
Corbin and others suddenly realized what was going on.
Of course! Uriah had a close working relationship with Rose and had invested heavily in Energence Pharmaceuticals because he wanted everything related to it to go smoothly.
They were close partners; therefore Uriah praised Flynn so highly because he wanted Charlie to work with him.
“Mr. Carlson, why would you say such a thing! How could I possibly do that?” Uriah was stunned to hear this, feeling a bit bewildered.
The others smiled faintly, knowing Uriah would try to defend himself. Out of courtesy, no one argued, but their expressions showed a hint of disdain.
Though Rose was also puzzled, she believed Uriah was not that kind of person, thinking that Charlie was overthinking things.
“Mr. Clark, they all said so. Please, lend me a hand and check the geomancy,” Uriah pleaded anxiously.
Rose also looked at Flynn and said calmly, “Flynn, if you have the ability, then help Mr. Wong!”
“On one hand, it would shut them up, and on the other, Mr. Wong is an important shareholder in the company. It’s not good for him to be distracted all the time by his father.”
Flynn was a little bit frustrated.
Initially, he had only agreed to help Uriah with his father’s illness. Now, he was being asked to help resolve geomancy matters, which was quite annoying.
But then again, it was all because he was helping Rose.
Toby, too, was puzzled. How come he, a renowned geomancy master from Shipmeda, couldn’t figure out where the problem lay?
On second thought, it made sense.
Toby was indeed a master, standing on a mountain at an altitude of a thousand meters, but Flynn was standing on a mountain peak of ten thousand meters. Their perspectives and understandings were not on the same level.
“Master Hewson, have you only deduced the geomancy on the surface of the Wong family’s land, or have you looked beneath the ground?” Flynn asked calmly.
Toby was taken aback, then somewhat surprised. “Are you suggesting… the problem lies underground?”
“It’s impossible! I’ve checked the Wong family’s water source and ancestral tombs. There’s no issue!” Toby retorted.
“That’s not it,” Flynn shook his head. “The water source and ancestral tombs are indeed fine. The Wong family has abundant virtue, and the water source flows smoothly, which are all auspicious signs.”
“But the earth’s veins are weak, the soil is turning black, which is inauspicious.”
“Moreover, if there’s strong vitality underground, the earth’s surface would show signs of bulging. However, there are no such signs of upheaval, which is ominous!”
“Furthermore, looking at the nearby vegetation, if it’s thriving with lush foliage, it’s considered auspicious.”
“But here, the vegetation is stunted, with twisted and sickly trunks and branches. This is highly inauspicious. Master Hewson, do you think there might be a problem with the earth’s veins?”
“And if you still doubt it, we can use the method of weighing the soil to determine auspiciousness. Take a rectangular inch of soil and weigh it.”
“If it weighs nine taels, it’s highly auspicious. Seven to five taels is moderately auspicious. Three to four taels is highly inauspicious. I bet the weight of an inch of soil here is no more than three and a half taels!”
“Furthermore, a simpler method: do you all feel oppressed and somewhat anxious standing in this place?”
After Flynn’s series of arguments, everyone present was dumbfounded.
Except for Master Toby, the others only half understood, but Flynn’s words indeed matched the condition of the Wong family’s soil.
The ground was compacted, with no signs of upheaval.
The soil was turning black, and the vegetation looked ugly and distorted, like elderly people in their declining years, appearing eerie.
Most importantly, as Flynn had said, standing in this place, one clearly felt restless, as if something underground was pulling them down, making them anxious.
After digesting Flynn’s words for a while, Toby picked up the specialized tool for weighing soil and immediately measured an inch of soil.
“Indeed, it’s three and a half taels!” The onlookers gasped in shock, their faces showing astonishment.
Looking up suddenly, they saw a different expression on Flynn’s face.
Could it be that Uriah’s words were true?
Rose remained composed. After all, the geomancy layout of Energence Pharmaceuticals was arranged by Flynn.
Before that, Rose had also felt the factory area was lifeless and oppressive.
After Flynn arranged the Lotus Falls formation, the geomancy of the factory area changed drastically, and one could feel vitality at all times.
“If there’s a problem with the earth’s veins, then what do you think specifically caused it?” Toby, after confirming that Flynn’s words completely matched the current situation, asked again.
Flynn pointed with his hand towards the northwest, about ten meters away, and said, “Every plant and every tree are part of geomancy. Sometimes something inconspicuous can affect the entire geomancy pattern of a house.”
“There’s a stone about a meter underground, roughly three meters long. If I’m not mistaken, it’s entirely dark, hard, covered with plant roots, damp, and stinks. Dig it up and take a look!”
Uriah quickly ordered someone to bring a shovel, and with the help of a few servants, the huge stone was exposed to the air.
An offensive odor filled the air, making people feel nauseous.
“Indeed, just as Mr. Clark said!” Uriah was even more impressed and hurriedly asked, “Mr. Clark, are you suggesting that the geomancy problem of my family lies here? What’s the significance of this giant stone?”
Everyone perked up, eager to hear more.
Charlie was amazed by Flynn’s abilities and looked at him with a great deal of respect.
Corbin and Tristan were speechless, their minds in turmoil.
Flynn calmly stated, “This giant stone was originally a lucky stone for the Wong family, with effects similar to those of a protective stone, warding off evil and impurity.”
“After your son brought the nine-orifice jade back home, the geomancy of the Wong Residence turned ominous. It was this stone that absorbed most of the negative energy, which is why the Wong family did not suffer major calamities.”
“Otherwise, the Wong family would have inevitably faced disaster, with the family falling apart within half a year.”
“However, the power of the nine-orifice jade is too great. After the giant stone had absorbed the saturated negative energy, it transformed into a malevolent stone. This is also why the nine-orifice jade was destroyed and the old master’s illness still hasn’t been cured.”
After this explanation, Uriah took a sharp intake of breath.
He hadn’t expected the nine-orifice jade to cause such significant damage to the Wong family. While angered by his disobedient son, he was also grateful to the giant stone for shielding the Wong family from disaster.
He was even more thankful for Flynn’s timely appearance, saving the Wong family from calamity.
“Men, dig out the giant stone and dispose of it elsewhere!” Uriah gestured, and a few servants stepped forward.
“No need, just step on it. I will do it. Please, all of you, move back thirty meters,” Flynn spoke again, standing confidently with his hands behind his back.
The others were puzzled.
But without questioning Flynn, they all moved back to a distance of thirty meters.
“Boom!”
Energy surged out from Flynn’s body.
A wave of energy, carrying sand, stones, and shattered leaves, surged in all directions.
Struck by this fierce energy, everyone felt as though a mountain’s pressure was descending from the sky, causing their hair to stand on end.
Fearful expressions appeared on their faces.
At that moment, Flynn’s figure seemed both godly and demonic, standing between heaven and earth. Those who saw him couldn’t help but feel awe, not daring to breathe heavily.
Corbin, wide-eyed, couldn’t believe what he was seeing and exclaimed in shock, “How can he have such powerful energy? It feels even more terrifying than Molly and Sullivan!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Flynn leaped up next to the giant stone and stomped on it!
