“Who said I was running away just now? I was afraid of hurting Ms. Sharp, so I planned to move a distance away and use my inner strength to kill the bats on the tree!” Flynn said calmly.
“Not running away? You were faster than an athlete, what else could it be?”
“You think you’re a master who can use inner strength to kill bats? That’s ridiculous! You probably don’t even have any inner strength, let alone using it! It’s all nonsense!”
“It’s obvious that he was running away in panic, but he found an excuse to go kill bats. How ridiculous! Rose is really unlucky to have such a bodyguard. I doubt if he would also run away if she encounters danger!”
Everyone obviously didn’t believe Flynn’s words at all.
It was clear that he was running away, but he made it sound like he was breaking some kind of curse. He was too good at making excuses!
Corbin and Tristan also looked disdainful. They already had a bad impression of Flynn before and now they had no good impression at all.
Admit it instead of being stubborn!
Camden sneered even more.
As a bodyguard, the most important duty is to protect clients. This guy thought about running first when encountering danger. If Rose had trouble later on, this guy will definitely abandon her too!
Molly frowned when she heard Flynn’s words.
There was nothing wrong with escaping from danger without being able to break curses or anything like that. But this man tried so hard to make excuses for himself which showed his poor character.
It seemed that as everyone said before: strong in words but cowardly in actions – really not worth considering.
“I believe Flynn wasn’t trying to run,” Rose couldn’t help glancing at him and chose to trust him because she knew the real Flynn wouldn’t do something like this. Even if it wasn’t breaking curses, he would still try his best against bat attacks.
Sullivan sneered, “Ms. Sharp, your bodyguard is too cowardly!”
“This kind of person may help you when there are no strong enemies around, but once you encounter someone like me, he will definitely leave you behind and run!”
“As fellow martial artists, I’m ashamed for him.”
Corbin joked, “I remember you used be decisive in your actions. How come you became so indecisive?”
“Why keep such a coward around? Will he block knives for you when facing top assassins? He offends people everywhere which will eventually lead your death!”
The people present looked down on Rose’s matter and couldn’t be bothered with it.
Especially for Braiden, it was best if Rose kept someone as cowardly as Flynn. It would make it easier to deal with her later.
Flynn frowned and said coldly, “You don’t believe me? Then let’s have a contest!”
It seemed that if he didn’t make Sullivan cough up blood, they wouldn’t stop buzzing like flies.
That was what he thought, but the others looked even more disdainful.
“Heh, he got angry just like that when we provoked him. He wants to prove himself through a contest? Fine! Let’s see Mr. Cox beat the crap out of him!”
“Mr. Cox will give him a good smack! Beat his foul mouth to a pulp so he won’t dare to talk big or be impudent anymore!”
“I can’t believe it. Shouldn’t he have knelt down and admitted defeat right away? How dare a bastard who knows a little martial arts challenge a quasi-grandmaster! He doesn’t know the meaning of life and death!”
“A contest? We couldn’t ask for more!” Sullivan also wore a cold smile, squinting as he looked at Flynn and said, “Rest assured, I won’t take your life, but I’ll break your limbs and make you live in regret for offending the Cox family for the rest of your life! It’s better to be dead!”
“I’m afraid you can’t!” Flynn’s face turned icy as he prepared to release his pressure, returning to the state he was in on the Demon Island.
The King of the Underworld had descended, divine and demonic!
With just half of his strength, everything within a ten-mile radius of this lakeside would cease to exist, like hell itself!
“Enough! The contest ends here today!” Molly calmly intervened.
As soon as these words came out, everyone was stunned.
Even Flynn furrowed his brows.
This girl kept stopping them, truly annoying!
If it weren’t for her interference, he wouldn’t have had so much trouble!
“Miss George, are you going too far?” Braiden couldn’t help but be infuriated.
Victory was within reach; Sullivan could make Flynn kneel with just one move, yet Molly called a halt?
“Going too far?” Molly raised an eyebrow, disdainfully saying, “Mr. Swanson, you used threats to force Mr. Calder and Mr. Howe to participate in the contest. This contest is not honorable.”
“A contest that goes against one party’s will won’t be recognized by anyone; there’s no meaning in winning or losing!”
With her words, everyone fell silent.
Indeed, Corbin and Tristan had initially refused, and it was only through Braiden’s coercion that the contest took place. It wasn’t their own will.
Such a contest lacked persuasiveness!
Molly glanced at Flynn sideways and shook her head slightly.
Setting aside the unethical purpose of this contest, she ended it mainly to protect Flynn.
After all, Flynn was the puppet of the God of War, someone who could converse with him. If he were to be killed or crippled, who would introduce her to the God of War?
Rely on Rose? That woman was as cold as ice, not easy to talk to.
Moreover, through her interactions with Flynn and Rose, Molly could clearly sense that Flynn knew more about the King of Poison.
She certainly scorned Flynn’s act of running away, but for now, this man was useful to her, and she had to keep him.
“If Mr. Cox is unwilling, I can compete on behalf of Flynn. What do you think, Mr. Cox?” Molly said calmly.
Sullivan was taken aback and laughed, “Miss George, you’re also highly skilled in internal energy and are no match for me.”
“We probably won’t be able to determine a winner after half a day of competition. Let’s just forget it! Well then! Goodbye!” Sullivan turned around and left the Swanson’s Residence.
Molly’s released energy was not much different from his own; she must also have reached the level of internal energy mastery.
The main reason for coming here today was to kill Flynn; there was no point in competing with Molly!
Braiden was furious.
Originally, he could kill two birds with one stone by killing Flynn while helping Garrett take down Bloodwort.
But since Sullivan refused to compete, all his efforts were in vain.
And according to Sullivan’s words, even if they did compete, they would only end up tying. It seemed like this bet couldn’t go any further now!
Flynn was speechless too; he had wanted to slap this old man into the lake but Molly had intervened again – so annoying!
“Let’s go!” After saying these light words lightly, Molly turned around and left behind a sharp frosty aura.
Braiden clenched his fists tightly as anger surged within him. He gritted his teeth and muttered, “What is this woman doing here in Niarak? Ruining my plans!”
Garrett watched as Molly walked away with a serious expression before quickly leaving himself without even dealing with his grandson’s body first.
Rose’s group left the Swanson’s estate too while Corbin, Tristan and Rose discussed tomorrow’s business matters together.
The King of Poison matter was confidential so Molly asked Flynn to come somewhere remote where she spoke expressionlessly, “I’ve already proven my ability; can you introduce me to War God now?”
It turned out that she came over here specifically because she wanted to prove that her strength could help War God defeat King of Poison!
He hadn’t been even a month since arriving at Niarak yet all he met were women like these!
Layla was as proud as an empress, Rose was as cold as an iceberg, and now there was another domineering heroine who spoke nonchalantly.
If these three women continued like this for a lifetime, there won’t be a single man brave enough to marry them!
He even doubted if he locked these three women together for half a year, whether they could exchange three sentences!
“Tell me about the incident ten years ago when the George family was wiped out! What grievances are there between the King of Poison and the George family?” Flynn didn’t respond to Molly’s request.
He wanted to know about the incident involving the George family, to understand who exactly the King of Poison was.
Molly replied indifferently, “Because of a woman surnamed Noble.”
“A woman surnamed Noble?” Flynn furrowed his brow. “What’s her full name?”
“Adrianna Noble,” Molly replied.
