Micah saw Hamish meet Orion and nodded politely, extending his hand and saying, “Hello!”
“… Mr. Everett!” Hamish could hardly believe his eyes; he was so excited that his whole body trembled.
He tried to steady himself and shook hands with Micah.
In an instant, everyone looked at Hamish with envy. Micah had actually greeted him and even shook his hand!
“Oh my god! Did Hamish hit the jackpot today? He actually shook hands with Mr. Everett! But when you think about it, he has a good relationship with Mr. Kennedy, so of course Mr. Everett would take notice of him.”
“I’m so jealous; the Lloyd family can brag about this for a lifetime now. I bet Hamish won’t want to wash his hands for a month after this!”
“When Hamish comes over later, I’m going to shake his hand too; that way it’s like shaking hands with Mr. Everett! I never thought that Hamish was so close to Mr. Kennedy; this guy is really low-key but impressive. We’ll have to ask him to introduce us to Mr. Kennedy soon.”
Everyone at the table was excited and envious; some were even teary-eyed.
“Are you going to let go?” Orion saw that Hamish was still holding Micah’s hand and frowned.
Hamish finally came back down from cloud nine and quickly let go of Micah’s hand, “I don’t know which private room you’re in eating dinner but I’d like come over later on give you a toast!”
“A toast?” Orion was already angry at how out-of-control Hamish had become. Seeing him try push things further made Orion sneer, “Who do you think you are? You’re not worthy enough for a toast from Mr. Everett.”
“Mr. Everett greeting you is already your ancestors’ blessings. Drinking wine together is something only big families can afford… do you really think someone as small as yourself can handle such good fortune?”
Orion gave him a cold look before turning around smilingly towards Micah, “Mr. Everett, you don’t need to stoop down to his level. Let’s go upstairs and talk.”
The two walked towards the stairs.
Hamish’s friends felt awkward hearing what Orion said; he spoke too harshly.
Hamish told them he knew Orion well enough, but did not expect such treatment from Orion.
“Well, it’s understandable. Mr. Kennedy probably thinks there are important matters between himself and Mr. Everett, and doesn’t want any interference from outsiders like Hamish to mess things up.”
“Yeah, Hamish is just trying too hard. He should be content with having connections through Mr. Kennedy. Why bother trying to get close with someone as important as Mr. Everett? It makes him look desperate.”
“Yep, talking to Mr. Kennedy means he can live well in Niarak now. He’s from a third-tier wealthy family, how could he expect to drink with someone like Mr. Everett?”
Everyone shook their heads, thinking Hamish was being too much.
Flynn chuckled lightly after hearing this and said, “Orion really has some tricks up his sleeve; he actually became friends with Micah!”
He didn’t care about these things and muttered a sentence before finishing his drink and wanting to say goodbye to Callie.
Before Flynn could speak, Augustine turned around and raised his hand, shouting towards Micah’s back, “Fatso! Where are you going? Come over here for a few drinks!”
“Fatso?”
Everyone was almost scared out of their wits when they heard Augustine call him that.
“That old man actually called Mr. Everett ‘fatso’, what the f*ck… is he trying to kill us? That old guy doesn’t even know what he’s saying.”
“F*ck him! Who does he think he is? Inviting Mr. Everett over for drinks? Has his brain gone bad or does he not know who Mr. Everett is?”
“I thought this old guy was different from Clark; having lived for fifty or sixty years should mean that he understands some manners but it seems like birds of a feather flock together. All f*cking brain-dead!”
Hamish had just returned to the table in shock when he heard Augustine’s words and almost sh*t himself in fear.
He had just upset Orion earlier and was thinking about how to apologize next time they met but now there was trouble at their table again. Calling Mr. Everett “fatso”?
Wasn’t this going to cause trouble for the Lloyd family as well?
Hamish and his friends were all going crazy.
When Orion heard this, anger rose within him as well as cold killing intent in his eyes as he turned around sharply towards Augustine.
How dared someone come here causing trouble when he finally managed to invite Micah over?!
“Mr. Everett, don’t be angry; I’ll go take a look…” Orion calmly turned around but saw that Micah already had a smile on his face as she said towards Augustine, “I wondered why you weren’t here yet since you’re such an alcoholic; turns out you’ve been here all along.”
“What happened? Did you run into an acquaintance here?”
Micah walked over smilingly while Orion furrowed his brows before following behind him.
Hamish and everyone else were stunned by what they saw.
“What’s happening right now? How does this old man know Mr. Everett? Who is he anyway?”
Augustine didn’t respond immediately. Flynn wanted to leave so he quickly filled three glasses of wine then respectfully handed one glass over beside Flynn’s seat.
“Didn’t expect Niarak to have a friend of Timothy!” Micah saw this scene and patted Flynn on the shoulder, laughing. “Since you’re his friend, you’re my friend too. Let’s go upstairs and have a drink together!”
Augustine saw this scene and was so scared that he almost spilled what was in his hand. He immediately became angry and said, “Micah, are you blind? Look at who he is!”
Upon hearing this, Micah was stunned for a moment before suddenly feeling that the back view of the person in front of him looked familiar. A cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
Just then, Flynn slowly turned his head and glanced at the hand resting on his shoulder. His eyes narrowed slightly.
Boom!
Micah felt as if struck by lightning and quickly withdrew his hand as if electrocuted.
This… wasn’t it King of the Underworld?!
Orion also trembled with shock upon seeing him.
“Boss…”
Remembering how disrespectful he had been earlier made Micah break out in a fine sweat on his forehead.
Boom!
Upon seeing this scene, the entire hall exploded into discussion.
“Boss? Mr. Everett actually called that young man boss? My goodness! This is unbelievable! And did Mr. Everett just call that old man Timothy? Isn’t he one of Ostrad’s most famous masters?”
“Who is that young man? The Eahta clan member was scared enough just from tapping on his shoulder! Even Master Timothy poured him wine?”
“Oh my god! I thought Mr. Everett was legendary enough but Master Timothy is even more unattainable than him! Who would’ve thought there would be an even more powerful figure here whom even Mr. Everett reveres like a god!”
Everyone could no longer control their emotions as they discussed fervently amongst themselves while goosebumps rose all over their bodies due to what they had witnessed. It was too miraculous to believe!
Callie also looked surprised; she suddenly felt Flynn becoming increasingly mysterious.
Although Flynn earned Micah’s respect through medicine skills alone, Callie couldn’t help but feel there was more to Flynn than met the eye after witnessing Micah retracting from him with such deep fear and reverence emanating from within himself, something beyond just being an extraordinary doctor…
Who exactly was this man?!
