“Energence Pharmaceuticals is at a critical juncture, and I can’t believe Ms. Sharp would take in trash like you!”
“It looks like Ms. Sharp needs to clean house and kick out useless people like you from the company!”
Flynn’s face darkened when he heard Kamari’s words, clearly displeased.
“Kick me out of the company?” Kamari noticed that Flynn wasn’t moved by his words and dared to say such things. His face turned black as he spoke coldly, “I am a member of the Wong family, and all department heads in the company are under my control. Ask Rose if you don’t believe me.”
“If Rose fires me, I’ll make sure she becomes unemployed too!”
Flynn was stunned after hearing this.
He understood why Kamari was so arrogant.
Kamari thought Flynn had been intimidated by him and couldn’t help but feel smug as he grinned, “Young man, do you understand how important I am now? Since it’s your first time here not knowing who I am, I’ll let it slide.”
“The next time we meet, remember to nod your head and greet me properly. Got it?”
“A watchdog for guarding homes actually dares to be arrogant in front of me? Do you think I’m giving you face?”
Harriet felt her heart sink when she heard Kamari speak this way.
She had just graduated from college with her grandfather seriously ill and needing money urgently. When she heard that Energence Pharmaceuticals needed clerks for work with good pay benefits included, she was very satisfied.
She thought she could stay here for a while but didn’t expect to be harassed by Kamari as soon as she arrived; seeing this situation made her want to leave immediately.
Thinking about this made Harriet extremely sad.
Harriet gently pulled on Flynn’s sleeve when he saw his cold expression; timidly saying, “Mr. Clark, thank you for helping me stand up against him but there is no need for us both get into trouble.”
“I think tomorrow will be my last day working here.”
Although Harriet had heard that Flynn was very skilled, having punched Sage into hospitalization, Rose hadn’t done anything about him yet either way despite Sage being just one department head while Kamari held more power than anyone else within their foundation.
If things really escalated, then Rose wouldn’t side with Flynn anyway.
Harriet didn’t want things getting bigger nor did she want Flynn losing his job because of her.
“Resignation?” However, Flynn shook his head lightly after hearing what Harriet said before speaking calmly, “Don’t worry, you’re not the one who needs to resign.”
“Just go back and do your job well. I’ll handle everything here.”
Kamari’s face instantly turned black with anger, “You bastard! You think I gave you some respect? It seems like you really don’t wanna work anymore so later on I’ll fire you myself!”
“Also, that bitch Harriet. I only invited you to dinner because I thought highly of you. Who the hell are you flirting with behind my back?”
“I’ll tell you what, not a single woman I’m interested in can escape me. Do you think quitting your job will solve everything?”
“I know where your family lives, and tonight I’ll do whatever it takes in front of your father!”
“Don’t think I’m bluffing; just wait and see what happens tonight!”
Harriet couldn’t bear Kamari’s harsh words and immediately burst into tears, pleading, “Mr. Wong, all I wanted was to earn some money here. Please don’t treat me like this…”
Kamari snorted disdainfully, “Scared? If so, then sleep with me and serve me well; there will be benefits for you! Otherwise, if necessary, I’ll force myself on you and upload the video online!”
His voice was so loud that it quickly drew the attention of everyone in the parking lot.
“What’s going on? Is Mr. Clark arguing with Mr. Wong?”
“It seems like Mr. Wong wants to sleep with one of the security department’s clerks while Mr. Clark is standing up for his subordinate.”
“Yeah! But he can’t win against someone two ranks higher than him who has connections within the company, especially since Kamari is from the Wong family.”
The employees at Energence Pharmaceuticals whispered among themselves.
The security department also joined in their conversation as they didn’t believe Rose would side with Flynn but rather appease Kamari by firing Flynn instead.
“Did both of you idiots hear me clearly?! Even ants at Energence Pharmaceuticals know my status here! How dare both of you challenge me?”
Listening to everyone discussing him made Kamari even more arrogant as he leaned against his Porsche car door laughing coldly.
“Do you really plan on going all out?” Flynn looked at Kamari coldly before taking a step forward.
“This is your last chance; kneel down before my people apologize or face consequences yourself!”
Kamari hesitated for a moment before bursting into laughter, “You’re threatening me?! You’re just a watchdog underling trying to threaten someone like me?”
“You want me, vice president, to apologize through one of your subordinates’ hands?! What kind of joke is this? Are you insane or something?”
“Oh, I see. You’re afraid of losing face because of what others are saying and want to show off, right?”
“I’m telling you now, get down on your knees and kowtow to me fifty times while slapping yourself in the face. Then tuck your tail between your legs and get out of here.”
“Otherwise, I’ll make sure you suffer the consequences!”
After speaking, Kamari turned to Harriet and hooked his fingers together with a sinister smile.
“Harriet, come with me! Tonight I’ll show you my skills! I guarantee it will be mind-blowing!”
“Otherwise, tomorrow I’ll kill your father!”
Kamari opened the door of his Porsche and sat in the driver’s seat with his legs hanging outside while smirking arrogantly.
Flynn narrowed his eyes fiercely as an icy chill emanated from them.
A watchdog? The security department’s faces darkened.
Kamari’s words not only insulted Flynn but also implicated their entire security department! But what could they do? When under someone else’s roof one must bow their head! Kamari was a vice president; if they didn’t want to leave empty-handed, then they had no choice but to endure it.
“Judging by Mr. Clark’s expression, he intends on standing up for himself until the end! Isn’t he digging himself into a hole?”
“Mr. Clark speaks too harshly; if he spoke more respectfully, things wouldn’t have escalated this far. He doesn’t understand respect for elders or authority figures!”
“From any perspective Mr. Wong is superior; Mr. Clark is probably feeling insecure now. Let’s back away so that Mr. Clark can apologize properly.”
Everyone shook their heads wanting to leave this place while preserving Flynn’s last bit of dignity.
The security department members were even more bitter about it all since Flynn had just told them earlier that when faced with trouble, they should take action. ow it seemed like he would lose all face instead.
Harriet saw this scene unfold before her eyes feeling guilty beyond measure as tears streamed down her cheeks causing her shoulders to shake uncontrollably.
Facing Kamari’s overbearing attitude and limitless arrogance, she felt especially helpless.
“Mr. Clark, I’m sorry for dragging you into this…” After apologizing, Harriet turned towards Kamari pleading, “Mr. Wong please spare us both due to my grandfather being gravely ill.”
“Can’t you have mercy on me? Can I kneel down instead of Mr. Clark?”
Harriet looked like a helpless child whose entire body trembled as she cried out these words.
The onlookers were all moved by what they saw, and some even became furious.
It was just a young girl, but Kamari had humiliated her so shamelessly. He was too shameless and too much of a bully!
