All eyes were fixed on the bracelet, and everyone was stunned.
Milo took a quick glance and then sneered, “Flynn, are you not embarrassed to bring out a fake glass bracelet?”
The crowd followed suit with cold laughter.
“Exactly! This bracelet feels too much like glass. It doesn’t have the rich and clear color of jade.”
“Clark is really something. He actually gave a glass bracelet as a gift! He might as well not give anything at all!”
“This glass bracelet costs at most ten dollars. You can find it in any dollar store! He must be trying to embarrass Paulina!”
This bracelet was too perfect, without any flaws or impurities throughout its body. It truly looked like a piece of glassware.
But precisely because it was so perfect and given by Flynn, everyone naturally assumed that it was an imitation handicraft product.
After all, that kind of perfect jade is rare in the world. How could Flynn possibly have it? No one in the Kaur family believed him except for Scarlet.
“Useless waste never fails to disappoint us by making jokes again!” Charlotte looked at Flynn with disdain and said coldly, “You should have several hundred dollars on you. If you wanted to prepare a gift with good intentions, why not buy some clothes instead?”
“What’s the point of buying something worth only tens of dollars? Are you trying to embarrass Paulina when she takes this out?”
“I think you just want to make her angry since she often scolds you on other days.”
Madeline’s face turned dark involuntarily.
Although she didn’t like Flynn very much, she wasn’t materialistic either; she valued only sincerity behind gifts.
If Flynn could spend ten thousand dollars renting a Koenigsegg for one day, why couldn’t he spend several thousand dollars buying decent gifts? A few tens-of-dollars handicrafts were too perfunctory!
“Fynn, if money is tight, you can just say some auspicious words for Paulina; your intention counts more than anything else…”
Matteo considered Fynn’s face but still showed disappointment on his face while speaking cautiously.
Flynn shook his head lightly, “Mr. Kaur, this is real jade…”
“That’s enough!” Paulina slammed her hand onto the table suddenly and shouted, “You’re doing this deliberately because I always scolded you! You’re trying to humiliate me today!”
“If someone dislikes being scolded so much, then they should improve themselves first!”
“You’re nothing but trash who always thinks about revenge through bad ideas! You’re really ungrateful!”
“You deserve death in prison so that we don’t get harmed!”
“Do you feel embarrassed?”
Flynn looked at her coldly and said, “If you weren’t Madeline’s mother, I think you would have been disabled by now!”
“Unfortunately, you are Madeline’s mother. I gave you some face for the sake of Mr. Kaur. Naturally, I wouldn’t cheat you with fake goods!”
This statement was truly shocking and everyone was outraged.
“This guy is trying to turn the world upside down! He actually spoke to his mother-in-law like that!”
“He’s threatening Paulina! This little bastard is naturally rebellious and wants to revolt!”
“Isn’t he an ungrateful guy? Matteo must regret helping them now!”
After hearing this, Paulina was even more furious. Her mouth trembled with anger.
“How dare this bastard defy me?” she exclaimed.
“Matteo, listen to the nonsense he’s spouting.” Paulina raged on while Matteo sighed.
He felt that Paulina was too domineering but Flynn was also a bit impolite.
Seeing that Matteo remained silent, Paulina continued:
“You always side with him. How does he treat you afterwards?”
“He causes trouble all day long and now he humiliates me with a craft worth only tens of dollars.”
“Who do you think he’s slapping in the face?”
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She picked up the jade Buddha and bracelet and put them in front of Matteo angrily, “You don’t want to speak? Fine! Let these two items be placed in front of you so we can compare them. I want to see if you disgust or not after comparison.”
Flynn’s face darkened as his eyes grew indifferent, “I’ll explain one last time. This jade bracelet is genuine because there will never be any fake goods in my house.”
How could Cruz’s Collection Room have glass bracelets worth only tens of dollar? Besides, Flynn had knowledge about jade; its texture and feel were top-notch which couldn’t be compared with glass products.
“The things in your house can never be fake?” Charlotte sneered, “Are you living inside a museum or something? Stop kidding around already!”
Milo also mocked, “Flynn, we don’t want to argue anymore since this bracelet belongs to yours; then there should be an invoice, right?”
“There isn’t an invoice for this bracelet but I guarantee it’s high-quality glass seed,” Flynn said seriously.
“Hahaha…”
“Mr. Barrett asked for an invoice but he actually said there wasn’t one? It’s not that there isn’t one; it’s just that he doesn’t dare show it! Shameful… so damn shameful!”
“Mr. Barrett is really smart, one sentence made him unable to continue lying! He revealed the truth directly! What a shameless waste!”
“Oh my god! Look at this bastard, all his lies have been exposed and he doesn’t even blush or skip a beat! He must be a habitual offender!”
The scene erupted into thunderous laughter.
Madeline couldn’t help but turn red. Two days ago at Fish Dragon Villa, Flynn was showing off with his car.
When she asked Flynn for the registration papers, he couldn’t produce them and even argued that the car was given to him by someone else.
After being taught a lesson last time, Flynn didn’t change his ways and became a repeat offender?!
“Hey everyone, why are you laughing so happily?” A middle-aged man appeared at the door with a brocade box in his hand.
“Mr. Simpson!” Matteo quickly stood up.
This person was Cameron whom Flynn met on his first day in Niarak at the Kaur family’s house.
He was a well-known collector in Niarak and also managed a real estate company.
Madeline bought fake painting which was discovered by Flynn.
Alan took advantage of their absence when they went to get their marriage certificate from city hall and claimed it as his own work of art which he then presented to Cameron as gift.
Cameron pointed at Matteo pretending to be angry, “You still remember me as your friend? You didn’t even inform me about your wife’s birthday!”
As he spoke, he opened the brocade box revealing an antique white jade double dragon earthenware bottle inside it.
“I came here this morning for breakfast and saw the Kaur family gathering here. I found out that it’s your wife’s birthday so I went home and brought back my jade collection.”
Matteo felt a bit embarrassed when Cameron approached.
After all, they had agreed to the project, but Madeline, swayed by Alan, flaked out again. Matteo felt awkward reaching out to Cameron after that.
“Mr. Simpson is the president of Niarak Jade Association; any jade that passes through him cannot go wrong! This jade must not be cheap either!”
“The presence of two big shots today is truly an honor for the Kaur family.”
“This jade is very rare and expensive too; I think this gift has been around for quite some time now so it should be worth quite some money too. Mr. Simpson spent quite generously.”
Cameron wasn’t bothered though since Timothy Houghton’s genuine artwork worth millions while this item only costed 600k which wasn’t worth mentioning!
He waved his hand casually saying, “It’s just something from my heart; talking about money would make things vulgar. I have guests waiting upstairs on seventh floor so I won’t stay long… hmm?”
As Cameron spoke, he caught a glimpse of the bracelet in front of Matteo and his face immediately showed shock.
“Oh my god! This is top-quality jade! I’ve been appreciating jade for decades and I’ve never seen such pure glass species. It’s worth millions!”
