Chapter 177 Visiting Again

“Niarak’s most expensive villa, the Thodell Mansion worth 300 million dollars, is where you live?” Rose confirmed again, incredulous.
“It’s just a house to live in. Why make such a big deal out of it?” Flynn waved his hand and looked at the Kaur family transfer contract with a not-so-good mood.
“Just a house? That’s more like a palace! Even when the Sharp Group was at its peak, I didn’t dare to buy such an expensive villa. Where did you get so much money from?” Rose couldn’t hide her surprise.
Even though she had seen many grand scenes before, after confirming that Flynn lived in Thodell Mansion, her beautiful eyes still stirred up quite some waves.
Flynn said calmly, “When you have experienced life and death situations and seen the brightest stars and climbed to the highest mountain peak…”
“You will find that it is nothing special.”
“I used to think that houses worth millions were very expensive and luxurious!”
“If I could live in such a house, my life would be successful!”
“But now looking back on it all… it’s really nothing special. A sweater knitted by your mother or porridge cooked by her can bring more joy.”
“This mansion for me is no different from an ordinary house; even my small room on Demon Island is more comfortable than this place!”
Rose couldn’t help but feel amazed; she increasingly felt that this guy was extraordinary with his sense of returning back to basics.
The two chatted aimlessly as they soon arrived at Plenilune Mountain. The BMW X5 slowly drove up to the top of the mountain and entered Thodell Mansion.
Rose parked the car on one side and stared blankly for a while.
This person who had seen everything was also not immune to being awed by this place!
Standing in front of this huge palace-like structure made her exclaim with admiration before heading off to use the bathroom.
The sound of flushing water echoed through as Rose walked out from inside; she glanced at the Givenchy lipstick on top of sink then said lightly, “Madeline came here?”
But soon realized her mistake then smiled, “Oh sorry! It must have been Scarlet!”
Last time at Fish Dragon Villa, she witnessed Madeline’s coldness towards Flynn while Scarlet seemed enamored with him – based solely on that observation Madeline probably didn’t know Flynn lived here!
“What do you want to drink? Lafite Castle wine!” Flynn didn’t respond but turned around and went into his wine cellar instead.
When he came back with the drinks, Rose was already seated on the sofa in the hall. Her slender legs were pressed together, slightly leaning to one side, and she spoke thoughtfully, “Dr. Garrett was invited to Niarak by Braiden, and I guess it’s related to the upcoming medical conference in two days.”
“With the financial strength of the Swanson family, it shouldn’t be a problem to invite a top-tier celebrity.”
“You’re fully in charge of promoting the Bone-Cleansing Pill. How do you plan to do it?”
Braiden, Layla, and Lilia, the heirs of three wealthy families, gathered in Niarak. The first round of competition was about to begin, and Energence Pharmaceuticals would face unprecedented pressure.
In this initial confrontation, the battle naturally revolved around the promotion of new drugs, where Energence Pharmaceuticals could not afford the slightest mistake.
Flynn calmly said, “I haven’t figured out the specifics yet. But I can assure you that this medical conference will elevate Energence Pharmaceuticals to new heights.”
“I know you’re eager to reclaim lost ground, but this matter cannot be rushed. Keep a calm mindset.”
“I’ve said that helping your family will definitely help you rise again, and it will shine ten times brighter than its peak.”
Rose shook her head and said, “Precisely because the opponent is too strong, things won’t be resolved overnight. That’s why I want to know your plan.”
“Approach this matter with caution; you shouldn’t be so confident.”
“Even if we can outperform the Swanson’s Group at the medical conference, it’s only a small victory. If you want a decisive battle, you need a massive amount of funds.”
“You can afford Thodell Mansion; your available funds should be considerable. How much can you contribute in the future?”
Financial resources had been her major concern in the last couple of days. The opponent’s combined cash flow exceeds tens of billion, and they can quickly raise another billion through family influence.
If she wanted to defend against short-selling through stocks and futures, she won’t last even ten days.
Short-selling involves borrowing stocks, selling them to obtain cash, and buying them back at a lower price to return. To withstand various tactics of lowering the company’s stock price, a substantial amount of funds was needed to safeguard the company or face bankruptcy.
However, Flynn’s next words poured cold water on her.
“The mansion was a gift from Cruz for curing his back injury.”
“I don’t have much capital on hand, just around 10 million.” Flynn thought for a moment, then continued, “But I can guarantee that when the opponent makes a move, the funds will be in place.”
Rose was once again shocked. She thought Cruz had bought Thodell Mansion and then sold it to Flynn.
She didn’t expect Cruz to be so generous and just give it away!
But Rose wasn’t too concerned about this. She thought Flynn had a lot of money, but he turned out to be just a skilled doctor.
It seemed that the Pearce family and Richardson family’s connections were gained through treating Callie.
Being a good doctor was great, but it didn’t necessarily mean having power.
The other three families knew many business tycoons and high-ranking officials in the other state governments. With some official means, Energence Pharmaceuticals would have to close its doors for good.
Rose didn’t doubt that Flynn had met some wealthy families through his medical skills, perhaps even bringing in billions of dollars more in funding.
But she didn’t believe he could bring in trillions of dollars. After all, people wouldn’t invest so much money just because someone asked them to do so with their mouth open wide like a fish out of water!
“It seems like this game doesn’t have too many chances for victory with only Flynn alone!” Rose thought gravely at this point.
“Ding Dong! Ding Dong!” The doorbell pulled her back from her thoughts. “Do we have guests?” she asked.
Flynn frowned as he approached the monitor screen; almost cursing aloud, “This woman is really persistent! When will she stop bothering me?”
“Who is it?” Rose stood up and asked when she saw Flynn looking unhappy.
“Who else could it be? Layla!” Flynn looked displeased, “She came twice already just to see Cruz. I ignored her both times but today she came again!”
Rose calmly suggested, “Why don’t you go meet her once outside? Tell her that Cruz doesn’t live here anymore; then naturally she won’t come back.”
“You go tell her instead,” replied an irritated-looking Flynn who closed his monitor screen before lying down on the sofa directly.
“All right then,” said Rose as she got up from where they were sitting by opening the door herself without hesitation.
