Chapter 162 Hustle and Bustle

River lay on the ground, convulsing.
“Someone fainted!” Everyone rushed over, frightened by the sudden turn of events.
“Kimber, let’s go!” Lilia glanced at River and left the exhibition hall without a second thought.
Kimber cast a cold glance at River’s convulsing body before leaving as well.
Although she had a sharp tongue and questionable character, Kimber still had some principles to abide by. She looked down upon someone like River who was always indecisive and she would not bother with his life or death.
“Do you want to help him?” Rose asked with an icy expression.
Flynn looked at River’s purple face indifferently and said, “I only treat people, not animals.”
River suffered from liver positive energy hyperactivity due to excessive anger which caused stagnation of energy and blood in his body. Although he was not in danger of dying immediately, if he continued to hold onto his anger, it could lead to stroke or even paralysis – it was just karma catching up with him.
Even if River died right then and there, Flynn would not have given him another look nor attempted any treatment for him.
Rose didn’t say anything but walked straight towards the hotel parking lot where Flynn followed her silently.
“From now on don’t spend money recklessly anymore but thank you anyway.” A softness appeared on Rose’s stunning face as she spoke these words while looking into Flynn’s eyes.
“You mean about switching positions?” Flynn smiled bitterly when he saw that Rose was smiling towards something far away so he followed her gaze.
Micah and Augustine stood respectfully outside the Pacific Tide Hotel with beaming smiles on their faces.
Flynn nodded slightly before they both turned around heading back inside when suddenly Rose frowned, “What’s wrong?”
Flynn asked curiously while watching her movements closely.
“I just feel like something is off about Master Timothy Houghton; he doesn’t seem quite like what I imagined.”
“I need to confirm Bone-Cleansing Pill’s clinical efficacy again so I’m leaving first!”
She closed the car door behind her then drove out of the parking lot without looking back once leaving Flynn behind muttering under his breath, “This woman… I helped her so much yet she couldn’t even give me a ride!”
Looking in the direction where Rose disappeared from view driving an X5 BMW car made him shake his head ruefully, “Rose may appear cold-hearted but deep down she is actually very soft-hearted; she just hides this side of herself very well.”
“If not for that moment after getting ‘Phoenix Emerges from Vast Sea’ painting where she smiled like a little girl.”
“Tinley committed suicide; Kevin went to jail; her family fell apart due to conflicts over interests – they no longer have any contact.”
“These things can change a woman’s heart, making her unwilling to have too much contact with anyone and living a tired life…”
Flynn shook his head and took a taxi back to Plenilune Mountain. As soon as he entered the gates of Thodell Mansion, he was stunned.
In front of the magnificent villa, there was a clothesline with clothes hanging on it.
Scarlet was collecting the laundry and waved at Flynn when she saw him return. “What are you standing there for? Come help me!”
She had just taken a shower and was wearing a semi-transparent chiffon nightgown with lace trim that covered her thighs perfectly.
Her fair and smooth legs were exposed in the air without any extra fat, as if they were the most perfect masterpiece in the world.
Flynn touched his nose and went over to help. He didn’t expect Scarlet would be helping with laundry or even brushing shoes!
Wow! She even washed his underwear that he changed out of before going to the exhibition!
“Hand-washed? Why not use a washing machine?” Flynn smelled soap fragrance on the clothes and felt warm inside.
“Hand-washing is cleaner!” Scarlet threw him the last piece of clothing into his arms before hurriedly calling out, “Oh no, I’m still cooking! It should be almost done!”
She ran into the villa quickly while Flynn put away all of their laundry in their bedroom before heading towards kitchen. Scarlet had transformed into little chef running around barefooted inside.
Beside steaming hot pot were four plates of dishes – minced meat stir-fry, braised shrimp in oil sauce, chicken chunks stir-fried with green bamboo shoots and spicy braised pig trotters.
Flynn picked up some chicken meat pieces and tasted them; they looked good, smelled good and tasted good so he nodded approvingly. After Adrianna passed away, this was first time he felt warmth again, which made him feel calm inside.
“Help me serve these dishes!” Scarlet kicked Flynn lightly on foot while holding steamed dumplings then headed towards the living room.
“It looks pretty close to what we used to eat,” said Flynn after drinking wine together side by side.
As soon as Flynn poured wine for them both, Scarlet stuffed peeled shrimp into his mouth saying, “Try my cooking!” Her eyes wide open full anticipation.
While chewing food slowly, Flynn nodded, “Hmm… not bad.”
“If you like it, then eat more; don’t waste it,” Scarlet gave him another piece of pig tendon saying, “How about the art exhibition? I saw Timothy Houghton Master came personally from news reports. Did you get chance meet him?”
“Hmm? You seem unhappy whenever I mention the art exhibition. Did something happen again?”
She looked like a praised child, with two shallow dimples appearing on her face and her eyes curved into crescents.
Seeing Flynn frown, she became worried again.
“Yeah! I ran into Lilia Hussain and slapped her in the face,” Flynn said casually after taking a sip of beer.
“What? You hit Lilia’s face?” Scarlet was slightly shocked.
“No, just made her lose face.”
This statement made Scarlet even more concerned, “Lilia is on the same level as Braiden. Although she may not have as much energy as Layla, she’s still a big shot.”
“She’s now in Niarak with Braiden and Layla. By making her lose face right away, you’re putting even more pressure on Rose!”
Flynn had offended all three families and it was inevitable that there would be some sort of conflict in the future.
“Big shot?” Flynn sneered disdainfully, “I’m really scared!”
“It would be better if we took them all down at once instead of having to deal with them one by one!”
Even if he picked someone randomly from Demon Island A Prison Area, they would still be world-class big shots. In the end, he could easily take care of them all anyway!
Scarlet knew that Flynn was being sarcastic when he spoke like this. Seeing his indifferent expression only made him seem even more extraordinary to her.
“He might actually have what it takes to go against the Hussain family,” Scarlet thought to herself before deciding not to bring up any business-related matters anymore.
The two continued drinking and chatting for a while longer until there were over ten empty beer bottles lying around them.
Scarlet’s cheeks were flushed from alcohol as she couldn’t help but ask, “Flynn, who do you think is better between me and Madeline?”
Flynn didn’t respond immediately upon seeing how flustered she looked; instead he took another swig of his drink without saying anything.
“Hey! I asked you a question!” Scarlet punched him playfully with her small fists which almost caused her to fall over.
Flynn frowned slightly before saying calmly, “You’re different from Madeline so it’s hard for me to compare.”
“What?!” Scarlet felt disappointed upon hearing this response; tears started welling up in her eyes.
If she can’t even compare herself with Madeline then what was she?
