Chapter 147 Shocking Revelation

The sound of shattering tempered glass filled the air as thousands of small pieces rained down like hail on the ground.
“Trash!” Flynn landed steadily and gave Ismael a cold glance before walking away without looking back.
Meanwhile, Ismael remained standing in his spot. Behind him, the shattered glass continued to make noise as he stared blankly ahead with dead eyes. Tears of shame even flowed from them.
The entire arena was silent for over ten seconds due to this incredible dunk. Some people were so shocked that they dropped their phones without realizing it.
A few rich kids who had been shouting insults just moments ago now had mouths agape and looked dumbfounded with only shock in their eyes.
“What the f***! This guy just posterized Mr. Cox and shattered the backboard!”
“This is a disgrace! A complete disgrace! Mr. Cox was dunked on by some nobody!”
“The ultimate humiliation! This move is most damaging to one’s self-esteem, especially for someone like Mr. Cox who practices martial arts. It will probably leave him with a lifelong shadow!”
Even Rose, who was usually an iceberg, sat up straight in her seat when she saw this scene unfold before her eyes and deeply admired Flynn for what he did.
“Brother-in-law, you’re amazing!” Scarlet cheered excitedly with shining eyes while Madeline shook her head without praise but only endless concern written all over her face.
“To hell with basketball!” One rich kid suffered such a blow that he kicked his basketball away and left directly from the court because he couldn’t bear seeing his good friend Ismael being humiliated like this by someone nameless who had just come out of prison recently.
Why?
Why should this trash win?
It appeared that this bullfighting match was initially supposed to be between two individuals settling their grudges against each other, but everyone present at first participated in it too – all stood on Ismael’s side constantly humiliating Flynn throughout the game.
Therefore, this match had already escalated into one where Flynn fought against everyone else alone.
Except for Scarlet and Rose, no one wanted Flynn to win.
However, throughout the entire game, Flynn remained calm as if playing a video game or something similar.
He started off by blocking two shots from Ismael, then upgraded himself into an action hero mode: slapping Ismael twice across his face; breaking his ribs with an elbow strike; crushing his hand underfoot…
In round three, things got even more insane when he made Ismael stumble twice becoming known as “the ankle breaker.”
Finally, he jumped from the free-throw line, leaped over Ismael’s head and completed an incredible dunk that shattered the backboard!
Not only did it embarrass Ismael, but it also humiliated everyone else on the court!
“Brother-in-law, you’re amazing!” Scarlet grabbed Flynn’s arm and shook it while saying to Rose, “Ms. Sharp, did you see his dunk? It was so cool!”
Shock, admiration, joy and revenge all came together.
Scarlet’s eyes curved into crescents.
Rose smiled faintly and looked into the distance. She noticed Braiden had disappeared without a trace. Her face flashed with coldness.
“Is your leg okay?” Flynn asked Madeline.
Madeline didn’t feel relieved that Flynn won the game. Instead she frowned and said, “You’ve won against Mr. Cox on the court. He will definitely retaliate hard.”
“You’re too stubborn. Why is it so hard for you to be submissive?”
“Leave room for yourself in case you meet again in future. Don’t you understand this principle?”
After speaking these words with a sigh of relief, she left the basketball court.
Flynn furrowed his brows deeply but soon became calm again.
Scarlet and Rose glanced at each other without saying much more about what had happened earlier.
“That bastard!” Ismael watched Flynn leave with clenched fists as he said fiercely, “Don’t think that having some strength means you can act recklessly!”
“My family has many experts like me who are as common as dirt. Besides, since you have no power or influence whatsoever, crushing you would be easy!”
“This matter is not over yet!”
The four people left the basketball court behind them.
“EasyAuctions auction house is holding Timothy Houghton Masterpiece Tour Exhibition at Niarak’s Pacific Tide Hotel this afternoon.”
“The exhibition starts at six o’clock in evening. I’ll go check it out,” Rose told Flynn.
Flynn had mentioned yesterday that if she planned to attend any events during night time, then she should inform him beforehand.
“Timothy Houghton?” Flynn was taken aback for a moment before nodding his agreement.
Timothy Houghton was just a pen name thought up by himself.
He never imagined his paintings would become so popular – even those drawn casually were selling like hotcakes both domestically and internationally thanks largely due to Easy Auctions’ exceptional marketing skills.
“I have some work-related matters to attend to now. I’ll leave first.”
Rose bid farewell before heading towards the parking lot.
Inside banquet hall…
At this point, it was already past noon and the delicious food on the long table was displayed in an enticing manner.
Flynn leisurely wandered around the table while Scarlet followed him like a shadow, insisting that he take her to see the art exhibition at Pacific Tide Hotel in the afternoon. However, Flynn refused to agree and this made Scarlet so angry that she hit him a few times.
Madeline’s leg was hurting but she didn’t want to miss any opportunity to expand her network. Unfortunately, after making several rounds, she realized that things weren’t going as well as she had hoped. Some people politely exchanged a few words with her but others didn’t even bother looking at her.
Madeline believed that it was because Flynn was hogging all of the attention. Seeing how carefree and nonchalant he was being made Madeline’s anger boil over inside of her until it exploded like fireworks. She picked up her bag and left the hall without saying anything.
“Hey! Are you leaving?” Scarlet pushed Flynn anxiously and said, “The Pearce family has prepared one hundred sets of Givenchy makeup kits as gifts for their guests.”
“In ten minutes we can get them,” Scarlet continued persuading Madeline, “Can’t you wait a little longer?”
Flynn saw how Madeline limped away from them with difficulty so he frowned and said, “I have some Chanel suits at home. You can come pick them up another day.”
“Since Madeline is having trouble walking, let’s walk together,” suggested Scarlet who had become quite irritable by now, “This is my gift exchange with Miss Pearce. It has great sentimental value!”
“You guys go wait in the parking lot for twenty minutes while I go get my set!” Seeing how stubborn Scarlet was being about this matter, Flynn could only chase after Madeline alone.
When they were almost at the parking lot, Madeline spoke up, “Flynn, can you please stop trying to show off? These people are all important figures in Niarak. We cannot afford to offend them!”
Flynn paused for a moment then bluntly replied, “Are you talking about what happened on the field?”
“He made you take your clothes off publicly then said so many nasty things… do we really have to just put up with it?”
“It’s not just what happened on the field. Everything else before that too… you’re too rough.” replied Madeline shaking her head disapprovingly.
“They are influential figures in Niarak. If we offend them there will be consequences! It might even implicate my family!”
“I don’t have any connections or background,” Flynn said coldly, with a hint of indifference. “Because I am my own biggest connection and background!”
