“3 million contract, sold for 1 million?” Flynn was taken aback, his eyebrows furrowed.
That was 32 acres of land that could potentially be worth at least 500, 000 dollars per acre in the future. The Kaur family sold it for only 1 million?”
Paulina didn’t seem to care and said impatiently, “1 million is not bad. That piece of land can only generate a rental income of 20 thousand a year. We will never recover their costs!”
“You should sell the lands you purchased as well. Whatever you get back from selling them should go towards supporting Madeline’s business!”
Flynn didn’t want to waste any more time here and left the Kaur family immediately.
The CEO of Rhinowares Group had also learned about the secret behind Ponocord Bay through other channels and saw that Madeline had acquired some land there. He bought it back from her at a low price.
Flynn soon arrived at Rhinowares Group headquarters where he bumped into Blaze and Madeline as they were entering.
“Mr. Head, thank you so much for giving us this project and helping us with our contract acquisition,” Madeline expressed her gratitude by shaking hands with Blaze.
Blaze waved his hand generously while grinning slyly, “It’s not really helping out. I bought Ponocord Bay because I wanted to start an aquaculture business.”
“Don’t underestimate that piece of barren land; aquaculture can still make money.”
“Your family doesn’t have plans for this kind of venture so I bought it instead – both sides benefit without anyone helping anyone else!”
“Go ahead and persuade your husband to sell me his contract too! With 5 million dollars, I can build a large-scale aquaculture base!”
Madeline nodded in agreement while walking towards the office, “My family doesn’t have that kind of financial power nor do they have your intelligence.”
“Don’t worry though. I’ll talk to him about it later on behalf of him thanking you.”
She couldn’t help but marvel at Blaze’s ambition – he had already made such great strides in real estate development but now wanted to venture into aquaculture too? His commercial empire would surely expand even further!
“When I pull the family out from its slump, we will develop comprehensively just like Layla did before becoming Niarak’s most prominent figure! Our difficulties are temporary – Rose managed to bounce back with millions invested in them so why shouldn’t we be able too?”
“Madeline, keep going! You got this!” Her heart was filled with hope as she thought about all the possibilities ahead.
“My lands won’t be sold – neither will yours!” Flynn put away his car keys calmly before walking over with an impassive expression on his face.
Blaze’s smile froze, and he frowned. “Ms. Kaur, is this your husband?”
Madeline nodded awkwardly and then scowled at Flynn. “What did you say? Mr. Head was kind enough to help us out, so don’t be ungrateful!”
“$5 million for the purchase may cause you to lose over $10 million, but it’s still better than losing everything,” Blaze said with a laugh.
“Friend, do you think $5 million is too little? We can negotiate the price; there’s always room for discussion.”
“I know you bought that land at a high price just to help Ms. Kaur out of kindness, but Ponocord Bay isn’t worth $17 million.”
“How about this: You name your price, and I’ll consider it,” Blaze suggested.
Madeline chimed in as well, “$5 million is already quite generous! If it weren’t for Mr. Head wanting to raise livestock there, we wouldn’t have stumbled upon such good fortune!”
“Raising livestock?” Flynn snorted disdainfully. “I think Mr. Head wants to raise money instead!”
“You’re quite savvy in business! You know that Ponocord Bay will increase in value several times over in the future.”
“It’s one thing if you tricked Madeline into selling it cheaply; now you won’t even pay full price? How greedy can one get?”
The contract Madeline held would be worth at least $100 million in the future.
Using Madeline’s eagerness to sell quickly as leverage, Blaze tried his best as a shrewd businessman by offering only $1 million while aiming for a return of $100 million.
Blaze was taken aback when he heard Flynn speak up, “Young man, you must have heard some rumors saying that Ponocord Bay will be developed soon!”
“I can tell you seriously that those rumors are false and not trustworthy!”
“To be honest with you all, if I amn’t raising livestock on this piece of land, I wouldn’t spend even one penny on it!”
“Did everyone hear what he just said?” Madeline asked coldly while looking directly at Flynn. “Mr. Head knows many city leaders. Surely his words should carry weight.”
“Only someone like yourself would believe hearsay without verifying its accuracy first.”
However, Flynn ignored them both and looked straight ahead at Blaze impatiently, “Didn’t hear what I just said earlier? Do we need keep repeating ourselves endlessly here?”
“That piece of land isn’t for sale!”
With that being said, Flynn grabbed Madeline’s hand firmly before walking away.
Blaze’s face changed repeatedly, and he spoke sternly, “Are you trying play tough guy here right now?”
Over ten bodyguards rushed forward instantly towards them both.
Seeing how angry Blaze had become, Madeline also became flustered. She shook off Flynn’s hand suddenly before shouting loudly, “Flynn, if you don’t want to sell the contract, then keep it. I won’t persuade you anymore.”
“But if you come here to cause trouble and try to stop me from selling the land, then please leave!”
“Mr. Head is a benefactor of my family. Not only did he give us contracts, but he also helped us solve our bad debts. I won’t allow you to be rude here!”
She was extremely dissatisfied with Flynn.
It was hard enough for the Kaur family to get this project from the Rhinowares Group and make a profit of 10 million dollars.
If Flynn continued acting crazy like this, not only would they not be able to sell the land, but their contract with the Rhinowares would also be revoked!
Flynn shook his head and said, “Madeline, that piece of land will earn ten times more than your project profits from Rhinowares Group in the future!”
“Blaze is just a small person. Don’t be afraid of offending him. Even if we don’t take on this project, we should still keep this piece of land!”
Madeline was stunned after hearing this and angrily said, “Flynn, are you crazy? Do you know who we’re dealing with?”
“If it weren’t for Mr. Head’s face-saving gesture towards me, if you spoke like that again in front of him earlier on… you’d have died eight times over by now!”
“Mr. Head, this guy is stubborn-minded. You must…”
Blaze waved his hand and stared at Flynn coldly.
“No matter what else happens, no one dares break their promise once they’ve agreed with me.”
“I understand why you wouldn’t want to sell your land,” Blaze continued, “but Madeline has already promised me that she’ll sign the contract and sell it.”
“This is my bottom line; my reputation depends on it.”
After saying this, he clapped his hands, and the bodyguards brought over two boxes, placing them on the ground and opening them to reveal neatly stacked bills.
“Here is 1 million. After the contract is transferred, take the money and leave. I’ll still consider the Kaur family as a business partner.”
“Otherwise, don’t even think about getting a penny. The acquisition contract still needs to be signed!”
Upon seeing all these events unfold, Madeline became increasingly furious inside her heart.
The two sides had originally reached an agreement, and Blaze had always been polite throughout. However, Flynn came along causing everything change around completely.
This guy was nothing more than a jinx; with him around nothing good could ever happen!
“Flynn,” Madeline almost begged, “Mr. Head cares about his reputation. Please don’t say anything else.”
After thinking for a moment, Flynn calmly replied back, “Alright, since Mr. Head cares so much about his reputation, I’ll accept these 1 million dollars then.”
Blaze couldn’t help but pause for a moment before laughing out loud saying, “That’s right! No one dares to break my appointment, no one dares to disrespect me!”
The bodyguards looked disdainful. After all, he was just a small fry who got scared easily.
“You’ve misunderstood.” Flynn shook his head calmly and said, “I’m doing this for Madeline’s sake. Consider this 1million as your apology fee for showing your teeth and gums.”
“I still won’t sell the land!”
