“Mr. Kaur, all my money was earned through legal means,” Flynn said calmly.
“Maybe it’s not illegal, but it’s certainly not entirely legitimate!” Charlotte sneered. “I bet that money is just from your father’s deep pockets.”
Charlotte fixed her gaze on Flynn and taunted him further. “Didn’t you say you wouldn’t accept any favors from the Clark family? Yet here you are, taking their money.”
Flynn’s face darkened and he responded coldly, “I have never taken a single penny from the Clark family before or after this incident.”
“I hope you won’t mention them in front of me again. Otherwise, I won’t give you another chance to speak,” he added with a menacing look.
The storm brewed in his eyes while Charlotte shrank back and closed her mouth involuntarily.
Madeline shook her head slightly. It seemed that Charlotte had guessed correctly; Flynn was angry because he couldn’t hide his guilt.
“Enough! Let’s get down to business,” Frank interjected sternly as he glanced at Flynn.
“Flynn has bought out the contract and resolved the crisis for the Kaur family,” he announced firmly.
“And Madeline will repay the loan tomorrow with over 4 million dollars still remaining in our company account.”
“I heard that Rhinowares Group recently outsourced a project, and the price is very good!” The old man said, and everyone started discussing it.
“Rhinowares Group… that’s a famous leading enterprise in Niarak. It’s as difficult to get this project!”
“Yes… I heard that the boss of Rhinowares has close relationships with some leaders in the city. He relies on these connections to thrive and always looks down on small businesses like us. It’s not easy to deal with him!”
“This project involves billions of dollars in funding flow. If we can win it, the Kaur’s Group can earn at least 30 million dollars. Unfortunately, it’s too difficult…”
Madeline also frowned deeply.
This project was too big for the Kaur family, there were many companies bidding for it, and their strength was above the Kaur’s Group.
They won’t pay attention to them.
And Rhinowares’s boss was too domineering; he was not easy to deal with!
Charlotte saw Madeline struggling and smiled mischievously at Frank, “Grandpa, you’re old now; enjoy your retirement!”
“Leave this to Madeline; I believe she can fulfill her duties as CEO and lead us one step further!” The senior executives of the group nodded repeatedly; they all wanted to throw this hot potato away.
Flynn sneered, “If everything needs the CEO to do it, what does the business department manager do? What about you guys?”
“A group of blood-sucking parasites!” He couldn’t stand the sight of these people anymore. Madeline worked tirelessly for the company, and the Kaur family always pushed their problems onto her.
They sat back and enjoyed the benefits when things went well, but shamelessly blamed everything on her when things went wrong!
The business manager was taken aback by this statement and retorted, “Do you really think a big company like that would be interested in hiring me as a mere business manager? Ms. Kaur might not even get through the door!”
“Sending Ms. Kaur is a sign of respect! It will increase our chances of success!”
Charlotte sneered, “The Kaur’s Group has fallen to its current state all because of Madeline!”
“As CEO, shouldn’t she be responsible for solving the company’s problems?”
“And what about you? You call us parasites? You’re just a freeloader!”
“What’s the point in arguing here?”
“If you can do it better, then why don’t you go with her and help secure this project? We’ll respect her if she succeeds.”
Flynn spoke coldly, “But let’s be clear – no one can guarantee that this investment will succeed. We can’t expect everyone to share in our profits if we win but leave Madeline alone to shoulder all losses.”
After speaking his mind, he turned to Frank and said, “I’ll accompany her.”
“But let me make it clear first – if we secure this project, Ms. Kaur’s family must receive half of its profits.”
Let Orion say hello to Rhinowares Group, no problem.
Madeline was shocked and stunned, turning to Flynn with a hint of anger on her face.
“This guy is talking nonsense again! He never stops!”
Facing Rhinowares Group, a company worth billions of dollars, the Kaur’s Group had no bright spots at all. Madeline wasn’t sure if she could win such a big project.
The others looked disdainful. “He hasn’t even done anything yet and he’s already asking for things. He talks as if he can easily win the project. How naive!”
“If you were still the heir of the Clark family, it would be different. But now? You’re just a son-in-law living under someone else’s roof. What ability do you have to win this project?”
“I suggest we kick out this clown who only seeks attention and doesn’t care about Charlotte’s reputation anymore.”
After hearing Flynn’s request, Frank turned black in the face and asked Madeline, “What do you think?”
“Grandpa, I think…” Before Madeline could finish speaking, Flynn interrupted loudly, “Madeline has this ability; I just don’t know if Grandpa agrees or not!”
If it weren’t for Matteo, he wouldn’t bother with these trivial matters concerning the Kaur family.
Frank thought for a moment before nodding, “Okay then; if you can get Rhinowares’s project done successfully then your family will take half of its profits!”
After hearing Flynn’s proposal, Madeline felt a chill in her heart and glared at him fiercely. She whispered, “What are you doing? I can’t handle this project. In the end, I’ll just become Charlotte’s laughingstock!”
Flynn furrowed his brows slightly and said, “Haven’t you always wanted to be like Layla? If it were her, what do you think she would do?”
This question left Madeline at a loss for words.
“Don’t worry,” Flynn reassured her. “I’ll go with you and we’ll get the project.”
After saying that, he left the Kaur’s Group without looking back.
Once the meeting was over, Paulina pulled Madeline aside and asked her why she had gone to the hotel in the morning but ended up receiving an apology from Asco Entertainment instead.
Everyone else looked puzzled as well; something seemed fishy about this situation.
Madeline gave them a vague explanation before someone mentioned that Flynn had saved Teddy while he was in prison. This revelation surprised everyone; they didn’t realize there was such a connection between them.
“What does it matter?” one person scoffed. “Didn’t Madeline say that he helped us out this time? That should be enough.”
“That Clark guy is really useless,” another person chimed in. “He has such great connections but doesn’t know how to use them properly.”
As Madeline looked down at the apology letter on the table, she thought to herself, “Flynn… thank you for helping me secure this contract.”
“But don’t think that just because you helped me once means I’m going to fall head over heels for you or anything like that. We can only be friends.”
