At that moment, Edwin got out of the back seat and looked towards the Chateau Hotel, his face showing a hint of surprise.
“I can’t understand it no matter how much I think about it. Doesn’t that fool know about Orion’s reputation in Niarak? Is he from out of town?”
Then, anger covered his round face in an instant.
“Orion, no matter where he’s from, daring to cause trouble today not only means he hit your face but also mine! Even if Miss Woods stands up for him, this matter cannot be overlooked!”
Orion was released from prison and Edwin personally went to the airport to pick him up as his friend. The two had a pleasant conversation on their way back and agreed to work together closely with great prospects.
The Gallagher and Kennedy families were already strong individually. With this joint venture, they would undoubtedly stand tall in Niarak with no one able to shake them.
They hadn’t even gotten out of the car when someone caused trouble. If they didn’t punish the troublemaker severely, where would their faces go?
“Don’t worry, Edwin. Whoever they are in Niarak, they will have to kneel before me!” Orion snorted coldly and strode towards the Chateau Hotel.
“Good! Today is your release day. We shouldn’t shed blood unnecessarily. Let me teach that short-lived guy a lesson!” Edwin said before turning around and going back into the car.
There was a baseball bat in Rolls-Royce’s trunk which Edwin intended on using against those causing trouble!
Swish!
The crowd immediately made way as Orion, like a black dragon with an air of superiority, entered the hall amidst greetings from those bowing to him.
“Looks like Orion isn’t planning on giving up easily,” Layla said with a hint of seriousness in her expression.
With Orion standing tall, Layla wasn’t entirely confident she could take him down.
“Miss Woods is right. Flynn, I’ll cover for you. Use this opportunity to escape through the back door!” Madeline stepped forward and faced off against Orion.
“Mr. Kennedy, my sisters and I came here to collect the 4 million owed by Mr. Read. He used his position to take advantage of us.”
“So my husband hit him. It wasn’t intentional on our part,” she explained.
Orion raised his hand slightly and interrupted Madeline’s defense with a frown. “Does it matter who’s right or wrong?”
Madeline was taken aback by his response.
Orion removed his sunglasses and revealed a pair of fierce eyes filled with killing intent as he leaned in closer to Madeline, exuding endless pressure while coldly laughing, “If someone hits me, then they’re in the wrong. Do you think I need your explanation?”
“I don’t give a damn!”
Madeline stumbled backwards two steps as her eyes turned lifeless grey.
“It’s been five years but Mr. Kennedy still has that domineering aura! We can never match such regal presence! Even if he were facing off against little Kaur family’s CEO himself, he’d still come out on top!”
“That’s right! Even if it really was Mr. Read’s fault – so what? He humiliated you Madeline because he respected you!”
“Mr. Kennedy is a man of action, seeking revenge for any wrongs done to him and fiercely protective of his own. The Kaur family has fallen, and they better watch out! Not only will their company go bankrupt, but every member of the Kaur family will be banished from Niarak forever!”
Orion’s response was not unexpected by those around him. They believed that such a reply was fitting for the leader of the Guild.
Madeline listened to the discussion around her and suddenly felt dizzy, falling backwards. In that moment, Flynn rushed over and caught her in his arms.
Giving Orion a sly smile, Flynn drawled lazily, “Cricket Kennedy, they say you’re the dragon king of Niarak. How about you make it rain?”
Boom!
As soon as Orion met Flynn’s gaze, it felt like lightning had struck him down from above. He coughed violently from inhaling too much smoke due to excitement.
His cigar fell out of his hand as he nearly collapsed on weak legs.
Edwin had just picked up a baseball bat when he saw Flynn standing in front of Orion at the entrance hall.
He furrowed his brows with confusion: “How did he get here?”
The bodyguard beside him was bewildered too, “Mr. Gallagher, this guy is the troublemaker! He’s way too arrogant!”
“Regardless of whether you know him or not, it seems unlikely that he can be saved. Mr. Kennedy will have to beat his brains out!”
Boom!
Edwin’s mind went blank.
Clang!
The baseball bat fell to the ground, and Edwin quickly jumped into his Rolls-Royce and locked the doors.
Trembling, he pulled out his phone and dialed Orion…
On the other end of the line.
“Flynn, you bastard!”
Layla was so angry at Flynn’s words to Orion that she almost vomited blood.
If she had known that Flynn would be so ungrateful, she wouldn’t have gotten involved in this mess!
Now that she had promised to help Flynn, she could only take a step forward and say, “Mr. Kennedy, he is an old friend of mine. Please give me face…”
Orion’s head buzzed with chaotic thoughts, filled with images of the great evil within the prison and the scene of people bowing down before Flynn.
He couldn’t listen to Layla’s words at all. Just as he was about to stop her, his phone rang.
“And I draw my gun, shaking heaven and earth, with one smile I break through the sky…”
After he pressed the answer button, Edwin’s trembling voice came through on the other end of the line.
“Quick, run!”
