Chapter 764: Extra Story 36

Book:Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife Published:2024-6-4

Harry wanted Hattie to remember pain. People naturally fear pain, and forgetting the lesson only means the pain wasn’t enough. He wanted Hattie to be afraid of him, preferably terrified, so she would never do such things again.
But Hattie wasn’t afraid of him. Along with his torment, she only felt hatred: “Harry, I hate you. You’re nothing but a despicable piece of trash. Why don’t you just die?”
Hattie’s voice was hoarse from the torment, as if there were clots of blood stuck in her throat. Despite her lack of strength, she mustered the last bit of energy to curse Harry.
Because of the hatred in her eyes, Harry momentarily lost focus. After a moment, a cold smile appeared on his lips. “Hate me. Hate me with all your heart. It’s even better if you hate me for the rest of your life.” The deeper the hatred, the more she would remember. He wanted Hattie to never forget him.
The depth of hatred also implies care. Though they were strangers at headquarters, Harry had gone mad. He didn’t even know what he was doing; he just wanted to break Hattie’s will, just like training a hawk.
Harry had a thought in his mind, an excuse for his behavior. He wanted Hattie to remember the heart-wrenching pain. Whether she resented or hated him, whether she hit him, cursed him, or wanted to kill him, it didn’t matter. She must never harm or degrade herself.
The only one who could hurt her was him, not even herself.
Her lower abdomen throbbed with pain, as if it had been shredded by a meat grinder. Her whole body felt icy cold, covered in cold sweat. Hattie bit her lower lip forcefully, and blood oozed through the gaps between her teeth, filling her mouth.
Afterward, Harry released Hattie’s hand and gently wiped away the blood from the corner of her mouth. But it wasn’t enough; he leaned in and kissed her.
Hattie spat in his mouth, but her strength was weak, and the saliva splattered everywhere, missing its mark.
Harry ignored her behavior. He had already kissed her, so he didn’t mind her spitting on him.
He reached out to straighten Hattie’s clothes and cursed, “Hattie, you’ll never escape me in this lifetime. Even in death, we’ll be buried together, as a ghost couple underground.”
“Dream on, go to hell with your couple.” Hattie’s trembling lips mocked him. “Don’t you even ask if Fiona agrees or not?”
“I’m canceling my wedding with her right now. I’ve come to my senses. I won’t marry her; I’ll marry you. Does that move you?”
“Move my ass!”
“Hush.” Harry covered Hattie’s mouth with his hand. “My mother is already dead, you know that. Actually, my mother was very pleased with you. She would have been happy to have you as her daughter-in-law.”
Madman!
Just by looking into Hattie’s eyes, Harry knew she must be cursing him in her heart. He had become numb to the pain on his body and had grown used to it. Regardless of how Hattie insulted him or what she thought, it didn’t matter to him.
Harry lifted the blanket and covered Hattie, just as he used to when she was a child. He touched her forehead and brushed aside her damp hair. “Rest well, I’ll make sure someone takes care of you.”
Not just taking care, but also keeping an eye on her. Hattie sighed and looked at Harry, asking, “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to seek revenge for you. Didn’t you say that if you and Fiona fell into the water together, who would I save? I saved you, but I also hope you spare her life. After all, I owe her,” Harry replied, without looking back. He turned and opened the door, closing it behind him.
Harry hadn’t been out of the hospital for long when he felt a strange sweetness in his throat. He leaned against the nearby wall, calming his emotions before leaving.
Hattie’s strength instantly drained from her body, like a deflated balloon punctured suddenly. Harry had roughly cleaned her up, but she still felt the dampness beneath her.
Hattie was in excruciating pain. The price she paid this time was too high, but did she regret it? She had already done it, and besides, she didn’t have time to regret now. She pressed the nurse call button. She was in a private room, a VIP ward, equipped with everything, and the nurses paid special attention to her.
Anywhere could be VIP with money, enjoying the best services. That was true.
Hattie pressed the call button for a while, and soon the nurse rushed over. At this point, Hattie couldn’t be bothered to observe the curious gazes and expressions of others.
Actually, what happened in this ward just now, even if Hattie spoke softly, there were still some noises. Despite the soundproofing, it carried a bit of commotion, so the passing nurse heard it.
The nurse heard but didn’t dare to ask too much. After all, they knew the people in here were not to be messed with. They could just ignore it, as they still needed to make a living.
“Miss Mason, are you feeling unwell?” the nurse asked.
Hattie shook her head. “I can’t find my phone. Can I borrow yours to make a call?”
Hattie’s current appearance was heart-wrenching. She was thin, her face as pale as paper, and even her lips had lost their color.
She had just miscarried, experiencing the pain of losing a child, and now she was being forced by a man, causing further damage to her body and mind. The nurse didn’t ask further and directly took out her phone from her pocket, handing it to Hattie.
“Here you go. Feel free to make your call. You can talk for as long as you need,” the nurse said, thinking she would call her family. But Hattie had no family, and calling her friends at this moment would only worry them. So she needed to call the police. Someone had poisoned her, intentionally trying to kill her.
