Chapter 711 Waiting for Finn’s Retribution

She was very beautiful, but the scar on her face diminished some of her beauty.
In the eyes of a lover, the current situation before them would probably resemble a beauty with inner grace, as beauty lies in bone rather than skin. Even with a scar on her face, Aoife remained attractive, so much so that Finn couldn’t take his eyes off her.
“Hey, are you mesmerized?” The designer walked over to Finn and nudged him with his elbow.
He snapped out of his reverie. “Change it.”
“Why? Isn’t this dress beautiful?”
“It is, but she’s pregnant and it’s inconvenient for her to move.”
“True.” The designer nodded, understanding that even a beautiful dress must be chosen according to practical considerations.
“How much is this dress? I’ll buy it, she can’t wear it now but she can wear it later.”
This dress was not cheap. On ordinary days, people who came to try on the dress would be scared off by the price tag. But for wealthy people like Finn, this amount of money was just a blink of an eye.
Finn was a regular here, often needing custom-made dresses, and he was friends with the designer.
The designer suddenly asked curiously, “You and Miss Powell are not married yet, and now she’s pregnant. Is this considered a shotgun wedding?”
“She is an accident in my life, and the child is a surprise in that accident. What you said is true, it is indeed a shotgun wedding, but more accurately, I want to use the child to keep her…”
The designer frowned, not quite understanding. Any woman would care about not having a formal status, and Aoife had been with Finn for so long, she’s pregnant now, isn’t he planning to divorce her?
The designer glanced at Aoife, who was smiling dumbly while holding the hem of her skirt. “Ethan, do you think I look good?”
Aoife calling Finn “Ethan” made the designer snap out of it and understand what was going on.
The fool Aoife mistook Finn for someone named “Ethan,” and Finn was enjoying it.
Aoife wanted to marry the “Ethan” person, not Finn. Finn wanted to use the child to keep Aoife.
But did he consider what would happen if one day Aoife woke up? Would he still be able to smile?
This relationship was like a fish and water. Aoife was the water, Finn was the fish. Without water, the fish would die, and without the fish, the water would become clearer.
Would the fish willingly jump ashore and die for the water?
Aoife changed into a simple dress and that night at the banquet, Finn appeared with Aoife at the Burns family.
Aoife curiously looked around, it was beautiful, but she clearly felt out of place here. After glancing around a few times, she dared not stare anymore, clutching Finn’s hand tightly as she followed behind him.
Sensing the cold sweat in her palm, Finn leaned down slightly to her ear, “Don’t be afraid, we’ll be back home soon after going in for a while. There are delicious cakes and drinks inside.”
“Can I eat?” Since becoming pregnant, Aoife’s diet had been strictly regulated. Foods she loved, like sugar, were allowed but in small quantities. It had been a long time since she had eaten cake.
“You can, but don’t eat too much, or your stomach will feel uncomfortable.”
“Okay, I’ll be good and not eat too much.” Aoife nodded in agreement.
Finn led Aoife to a corner, and not long after they entered, Atonal arrived, saying that Old Burns inside wanted to see him.
Finn left his assistant to look after Aoife while she sat and ate cake. He crouched in front of her, “Aoife, I’ll be back in a moment. You wait here obediently for me, don’t wander around, understand?”
His tone was gentle and patient, as if coaxing a child.
Although Aoife was as silly as a child, she was more obedient than most children. If asked not to wander, she would wait there obediently.
Finn took great effort and patience to teach her many things, such as not eating random things off the floor, not picking up things that fell on the ground, not digging in the trash, not eating things from strangers, not leaving his sight…
Aoife learned very seriously, even though she would forget the next day, as long as Finn was by her side, she would continue to be obedient. What he said was law.
After watching Finn leave, Aoife obediently ate her cake, eating slowly and carefully, afraid to get cake on the new dress she had bought.

Finn followed the butler to a room on the second floor, and upon entering, he found an unexpected guest along with Old Burns, Lily was also there.
Since learning that Lily had spread that video, he had been suppressing the Dankworth family, even arranging a minor car accident as a “warning.”
With Old Burns protecting her, he couldn’t retaliate too harshly. Lily was scared, and after staying at home for a month after the incident, she no longer dared to do anything shady. The video incident was resolved in this way.
Finn looked at Lily with an unpleasant expression. “What are you doing here?”
“I have an invitation from Old Burns, why can’t I come?” It was impossible for her not to hate Finn, she didn’t have that capacity.
He ran away on their engagement day to go abroad for a fling, causing her to lose face. So a little payback from her side, what’s wrong with that? Unbeknownst to Finn, she had been in a minor car accident arranged by him, almost causing her death.
If Finn had told her when they first met that he had feelings for someone else, she wouldn’t have minded. They could have parted ways amicably, for there’s not just one man in this world.
But he used her feelings, and afterwards left her like trash. How could she not hate him?
Out of love, hatred is born. Now, as Lily looked at Finn, her eyes burned with icy coldness.
Old Burns cleared his throat and looked at Finn. “Have you decided to be with that woman?”
“Yes.”
“Have you really thought it through?”
“I’ve thought it through a long time ago. I can’t let her fall into a state of being a nameless mistress like my mother, right?”
The engagement between the Burns and Dankworth families had long been cancelled, and Lily, although still harboring some resentment, could only let go. She couldn’t keep fighting Finn, especially since he was reckless. She could never repay him for all the damage he had caused.
There’s an old saying, betraying someone will always come back to bite you. Finn had hurt many people, and she was waiting to see his comeuppance.
“I don’t care whether you regret it or not, I just hope you won’t disturb my life now.”
Lily pursed her lips, her eyes downcast. Despite some lingering resentment, what could she do? The man she liked didn’t like her back, and he not only didn’t like her, he also manipulated her feelings, leaving her feeling like trash.
She never expected that the first time she earnestly liked someone would turn out to be a fraud.
Old Burns spoke up, “Since you’ve made up your mind, I won’t say much anymore, except for one thing, you will marry her after I die, I don’t want to see her, but I can see the child she gives birth to.”
Finn mockingly replied, “Let’s see if you can live to see the child being born.”
Old Burns chuckled, not bothered by his words. “The shareholders meeting is the day after tomorrow.”
Finn didn’t respond, he just turned and left the room. He had been out for long enough, and he needed to get back to Aoife’s side.
“Ah–”
As soon as he descended the stairs, he heard a scream.
