Chapter 633: Better Off Beating Me to Death

Book:Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife Published:2024-6-4

“You dare!” Finn saw through Aoife’s timid personality, and while he spoke harshly, did she truly dare to resist him?
If she had thoughts of marrying someone else, he would release those videos to see which man would dare to want her.
Finn clenched his teeth tightly, the pain in his jaw didn’t make him loosen up, although he knew Aoife was just talking, the possibility of it happening in the future made his heart feel like a raging fire and icy water at the same time, the impact causing a searing pain to spread from his chest, almost consuming him, he desperately held back, his eyes still trembling uncontrollably.
Caught by the neck, Aoife had difficulty breathing for a moment, she gasped, endured the pain, and said, “Finn… Do you… want me to end up like your mother… to become a mistress, pushed step by step to my death?”
In Finn’s eyes, keeping her here was his biggest concession, but in Aoife’s eyes, it was just charity, an insult. He not only treated her as a plaything but also as a beggar.
His mother had always been Finn’s taboo, only he could mention her, no one else could utter half a word.
Finn’s face contorted, the veins on his neck bulging.
Finn himself was a person with a bad temper, usually able to hide and suppress it, occasionally doing things to vent, but when facing Aoife, his emotions were already well-controlled.
If he treated her as he did Elisa in the past, Aoife would have suffered countless times by now.
Finn was already in a bad mood today, coupled with alcohol, he was getting drunk, and Aoife’s provocative words further fueled his anger, making his chest about to explode.
“After giving you two days of freedom, have you forgotten what you are?” Finn kicked over the coffee table, making a loud noise.
He threw Aoife to the ground, with a carpet to cushion the fall, it wasn’t too painful, but Aoife was afraid of this Finn.
“If I don’t give you a lesson, you’d almost forget your last name!”
He could tolerate Aoife’s “small rebellions” but once she had the idea of escaping from him, he would be angry and want to teach her a lesson.
But Aoife was too fragile, not used to being hit; a fragile person like a porcelain doll, as if she would break with just one hit. If she fell apart, where could he find someone more resilient and familiar?
Aoife was not used to being hit, but she was scared. Finn believed that as long as Aoife was afraid of him, she wouldn’t think of leaving him, but he didn’t realize this would only push Aoife further away.
After being thrown to the ground, the strong will to survive made Aoife instinctively try to get back up.
Finn suddenly stepped on Aoife’s ankle, causing a sharp pain that made her unable to move. She let out a sob and looked into Finn’s bloodshot eyes.
“Finn, even if you don’t care about me, you should care about Lily. If you want to marry her, you should be responsible for her instead of entangling with someone like me. Please, let me go… If you can tolerate me, she won’t tolerate me…” She tried to awaken Finn’s conscience using Lily because in her view, marriage only happened between people who truly loved each other.
Aoife was too naive; many marriages in the world were not based on deep love; many people settled.
Finn married Lily purely for benefits.
Finn liked Aoife, but that affection wasn’t enough for him to give up what he wanted. He knew very well what he wanted, and he tightly held onto Aoife, not willing to let go.
Since Lily knew Aoife was his mistress, without confronting it, it meant she held an important place in Lily’s heart.
Not breaking up was merely to maintain this relationship. Since Lily didn’t mind, what did Aoife care about?
This time, she was just accidentally discovered by Lily. After learning the lesson, there wouldn’t be a next time, he would be more careful.
Finn had already planned his strategy; he would take Aoife abroad.
Unfamiliar surroundings, language barriers, Aoife couldn’t escape, and Lily couldn’t find her.
Suddenly, Finn remembered something; he stepped on Aoife’s foot, his face showing a cold smile, “You keep mentioning Lily, mentioning my marriage, are you jealous? Aoife, why are you so petty?”
“Pettiness?” Aoife’s nose tingled, tears immediately streamed down her face. It turns out that her dignity, her longing for freedom, were seen as pettiness in Finn’s eyes.
After a whole day of being “stabbed” out of numbness, she had almost lost all feeling.
Aoife closed her eyes in pain, “What am I to you? Leftover scraps, expired milk, rotten bananas, a free gift you casually throw away, or a withered plant on your balcony? In your eyes, I’m just something disposable, Finn, I don’t owe you anything.”
If she was disposable, why couldn’t he forget about her, let her go? How come his hands seemed glued to her, unable to let go?
“You’re intent on opposing me, aren’t you?”
“I just want freedom.”
“Freedom? I’ll break your legs, then you’ll know what freedom is.”
Listening to Finn’s harsh words, Aoife choked, “Then you might as well just beat me to death.”
