Aoife’s consciousness had long vanished from this body. She willingly let Elisa take over, because through Elisa, she achieved her dreams. With Elisa, she no longer faced internet trolls, and the company that had exploited her in the past received its comeuppance. Additionally, because of Elisa, her vampire family and Finn were all filled with remorse and guilt.
She was content with her current state after death, just as she had once said. “Once gone, there’s no returning.”
She had made it clear to Finn that once something is given away, it doesn’t return. So how could she come back just because of his repentance and these tactics?
Finn seemed to have realized the reality. He held the drenched Elisa in his arms, calling out Aoife’s name.
“Sorry, Aoife, I hurt your body. I’m sorry… I just wanted you to come back.”
After a strong electric shock, the body tingles, the brain becomes dizzy like a concussion, and Elisa was being held by Finn in a wheelchair.
Dizzy, nauseous, eyes swollen, chest heaving, unable to suppress the urge to vomit, Elisa was held by Finn, and she couldn’t help but throw up.
Having eaten very little for lunch, and several hours having passed since, her stomach had already digested most of it. What came out was all acidic water, all thrown up on Finn.
Finn, disabled in the wheelchair, held her tightly, unable to dodge in time, and was thus covered in vomit from his chest to his abdomen.
This was no longer a matter of cleanliness or hygiene. It was something no one could endure. Finn remained composed, asking calmly, “Was that intentional?”
Elisa was still retching, albeit dry heaves. After throwing up, her chest felt better, but her head throbbed even more painfully. In her ears, amidst the ringing, she vaguely heard Finn say, “intentional?”
“Intentional?” Her throat moved as she shivered, asking, “Would I not vomit if you didn’t torture me with electric shocks?” She couldn’t help but mock Finn.
“If I had really intended it, I would have eaten more before coming, so I could throw up on your face.”
That image was a bit too much, and Finn furrowed his brow. Only Elisa would be so outspoken. Even if she were kidnapped, she wouldn’t hide her pride. As for Aoife, forget about vomiting on him, she wouldn’t even dare speak loudly; she’d be as gentle as a newborn kitten.
“Elisa, it was your unpleasant nature that led to Hamish abusing you to death.”
Elisa hoarsely replied, “What’s unpleasant depends on the person. If it’s towards you and Hamish, it’s not unpleasant, it’s despicable!”
An assistant handed tissues to Finn to wipe off the vomit. Finn held Elisa with one hand; she had no strength and relied entirely on Finn to support her. If he loosened his grip even slightly, she would roll off him.
Finn lowered his gaze to Elisa’s pale face, her jet-black eyelashes hanging down, casting a silhouette in her eye sockets. Involuntarily, he reached out and touched Elisa’s cheek, from her eyebrows to her nose.
Apparently, when the soul changes, the person changes as well, even though these eyes and this nose are the same…
“Don’t touch me,” Elisa’s eyes revealed undisguised disgust. So disgusted that words that should have been psychological slipped out without restraint, “Disgusting.”
“I didn’t touch you, I touched Aoife.”
Elisa couldn’t reason with someone like Finn, who was full of twisted logic. She managed to move slightly and, with a twist, managed to free herself from Finn’s grasp. However, she was in no state to withstand the impact of falling to the ground, hitting the back of her head, making her already dizzy mind even more confused.
The assistant reached out to help Elisa up, but Finn stopped him. Elisa couldn’t move for now, and lying on the ground, at most, she could move her hands. There was no need to fear her running away.
Sitting in the wheelchair, Finn looked at the curled-up Elisa on the ground and said, “Aoife is mine, and her body is mine after she dies.”
“So what?” Elisa questioned.
“Give me the box,” Finn reached out and took the box handed to him. Upon opening it, he found red liquid and a syringe inside.
This color clearly indicated it wasn’t anything good.
Elisa glanced at the box, with no fear on her face, just coldly stating, “Finn, can’t your methods be more original? Besides these, what else do you have? And… didn’t you say you wouldn’t harm Aoife’s body? Whatare you doing with these?”
“Injecting this into your body won’t cause you pain,” Finn slowly took out a vial of red liquid from the box, the liquid shimmering eerily in the light.
“Do you know about infectious diseases? This is similar to that, it can be transmitted through blood, saliva… It spreads, and when you die, it will be quiet, without much pain, and it will keep your body in the best condition.”
“You’re a pervert!” Even the usually calm and composed Elisa couldn’t help but curse at this moment. Tears of anger filled her eyes. She couldn’t bear the thought of this substance being injected into her body, separating her from Louis for the rest of their lives. She had finally found Louis after all her efforts, recognizing him as the one who had carried her home all those years ago.
