“I’ll go open the door; I’m closer,” Mr. Barlowe said.
Mr. Barlowe got up and opened the door, facing a man standing outside, dressed casually with a hat and a face mask, just like Elisa’s previous attire, but the only difference was that he was holding a cup of milk tea.
“Hello, hello,” Mr. Barlowe greeted warmly, nodding, “Miss Powell is inside. Please come in.”
Mr. Barlowe stepped aside, eyeing the man who entered. He was tall, with well-built arms and probably had an eight-pack, which would be great for shirtless scenes on camera. The only remaining question was about his facial features.
Unfortunately, his face wasn’t visible at the moment, but judging by his head shape, he probably had a good jawline too.
“Uh, thanks,” the man replied.
Mr. Barlowe furrowed his brow. The voice was too familiar, definitely heard somewhere before. Just hearing this voice made him somewhat excited, but he couldn’t remember where he had heard it before.
Mr. Barlowe followed them, watching the man walk quickly to Elisa as soon as he entered.
“Why did it take you so long? Did you encounter something on the way?” Elisa asked, concerned.
“I didn’t encounter anything, just found the milk tea you like on the way, and I couldn’t resist getting in line. You didn’t have breakfast this morning, and you don’t like Japanese food, so have the milk tea first, and later I’ll take you to eat something delicious,” Louis said as he handed over the milk tea.
The milk tea was still hot, and as soon as the straw was inserted, a strong floral fragrance mixed with the milky aroma filled the air. This milk tea shop usually had a long queue, so getting a cup was not easy.
“You still dare to queue up. Aren’t you afraid of being recognized by fans?” Elisa asked.
Louis boldly stated, “I’m not afraid. Have a sip and see if it’s the taste you like.”
Louis bought a large cup of milk tea with extra toppings. The bottle was quite large, and Elisa usually couldn’t finish it, so Louis would eagerly drink the rest, and they would share the same straw.
Elisa held the milk tea, brought the straw to her mouth, and took a sip. It contained chewy red beans, and the milk tea had the original floral and sweet milky flavor, not feeling cloying.
Elisa took a big sip, slightly bulging her cheeks, looking as cute as a hamster secretly nibbling away. Her eyes lit up as she said, “Delicious, this is the taste.”
The two men on the side felt like they were superfluous, wishing they could have an invisibility cloak to hide themselves. However, they were also curious about Elisa’s relationship with this man.
The relationship seemed so naturally intimate; they were clearly a couple.
From the conversation, it was evident that this man had fans, and judging by his attire, he was clearly disguising himself to avoid being recognized by fans. Encountering fans on the street meant he must be quite famous.
Mr. Rook and Mr. Barlowe glanced at each other, then both looked at Elisa, unable to resist interrupting their private space.
“Miss Powell, who is this?” Mr. Rook inquired.
“Let me introduce you. This is Mr. Rook and Director He, both of whom you know and have chatted with before,” Elisa replied.
Chatted before? When? How come they didn’t know?
Louis took off his face mask and extended his hand: “Hello, directors. I’m Louis, playing the male lead in this role.”
Clang! Mr. Rook tripped over his own legs, almost falling, but Mr. Barlowe caught him in time.
If they were shocked when they saw Elisa, they were dumbfounded and speechless when they saw Louis, with a mix of being starstruck.
They never imagined that their small, low-budget film crew would one day have the opportunity to collaborate with the popular superstar Louis. It was like they had incredible luck in this life, unexpectedly receiving such a huge opportunity.
The two quickly reached out to shake hands with Louis. “Louis, we… we’re big fans of yours,” they stuttered.
It was clear that these two were indeed Louis’s fans, stumbling over their words when speaking to the real person.
“Miss Powell, is this the male lead you’ve invited?” Mr. Rook asked.
Elisa raised an eyebrow slightly. “Why? Not satisfied?”
“No, I just feel like I’m dreaming,” Mr. Rook sighed.
They originally thought it was just a low-budget film, but suddenly it had been elevated several notches. Anything associated with Louis was bound to be high-quality. With such a great script and excellent equipment, they had a premonition that this film would definitely be a hit. Moreover, it was said that each of Louis’s movies surpassed the last in box office sales. His last film reached 5. 8 billion, and with Elisa in this one, it might even surpass 6 billion.
Eighty million was mainly spent on special effects, sound effects, and makeup.
The auspicious day for the start of filming had already been set, but the two directors were eager to start shooting as soon as possible, even as early as tomorrow.
Usually, a film needed a period of adjustment during shooting, but they had a complete filming team, and the supporting actors were all familiar faces. The synergy between Elisa and Louis didn’t need any adjustment at all.
Elisa and Louis had already read through the contract, and they had even drafted most of it themselves. They just had Mr. Rook arrange the text and then took it to the court department to get it stamped.
However, just to be safe, Elisa quickly glanced over it to make sure everything was correct before signing it.
As Elisa and Louis earnestly signed the document, Mr. Rook and Mr. Barlowe suddenly noticed that the two of them were wearing matching wristwatches.
