Chapter 435: They are all unique

Even if Elisa lied to him, saying she didn’t remember Autumn, or had forgotten about this person, Louis would choose to believe her without reservation.
But Elisa didn’t lie; she earnestly told him that she wouldn’t forget this person.
No one could comprehend how afraid Louis was at this moment; he couldn’t control his jealousy. Just after finishing a fight, he couldn’t restrain his emotions.
Louis was afraid to face Elisa again. He knew his cold, sarcastic words would wear down her patience, causing her to completely abandon him.
Wiping away a tear, Louis regretted asking that question. How could a substitute ever compare to the original? Making Elisa choose was just asking for trouble.
He was too afraid to hear a rejection from Elisa. He handed her a photo. “You don’t have to answer me. I’m sorry for putting you in a difficult position. I need some time alone.”
Louis finished speaking and then turned and fled. Elisa clutched the old photo in her hand, watching the man’s frantic departure. She couldn’t even call out to him in time.
Right now, both she and Louis were too emotionally distraught. It was indeed unsuitable for them to stay together. But… Elisa mocked herself: “Fool, today I wanted you to accompany me to finish shooting.”
Elisa’s heart was in turmoil. She couldn’t forget her old feelings for the new ones. If she had to completely forget about Autumn in order to be with Louis, should she distance herself from him?
She was wrong. Perhaps she shouldn’t have gotten close to Louis in the first place; then she wouldn’t have caused him such distress.
As she looked at the worn photo in her hand, Autumn’s big smile with gleaming teeth seemed so much like Louis.
A tear fell onto the photo. Elisa reached out and gently wiped it away.
In a choked voice, she said, “Autumn, I’ve met someone who looks just like you. But he’s not you. Yet, he also sweetens me with candy. I’m no longer allergic to hawthorn berries, and I miss you a little… big brother.”
If even she forgot Autumn, who would remember the big brother who used to coax her home with candy haws when she was young, and who, as they grew up, would give her all his cookies in the orphanage?
From childhood to adulthood, even with intellectual challenges, Autumn never forgot her. How could she forget and let someone else take his place?
She never thought of letting anyone become his substitute because Autumn was unique and irreplaceable.
And Louis didn’t need to replace anyone because he was himself, and in this world, he was also unique.
Elisa wiped away a tear, carefully putting away the photo in her hand. She had hurried out without informing Patrick.
She took out her phone and sent a message to Patrick, letting him know she was on her way back, then went to find Louis to explain everything seriously.
Her confused mind had finally grasped the situation. Louis knew about Autumn, and his mistaken belief that he was a substitute was all because of Hamish and Finn.
They had done this to drive a wedge between her and Louis, to create a rift between them. She wouldn’t let them have their way.
Elisa was about to call Louis when, as she turned a corner, she saw a car parked by the roadside. Finn was sitting inside, the window open. He answered a call and, upon seeing Elisa emerge from the car, his sharp eyes narrowed slightly before he put down the phone.
Elisa’s face paled. She hadn’t expected to encounter Finn here. It was no coincidence; he had been following her from the beginning. Even after being beaten by Louis, he had people trailing them. He had sinister intentions!
Instinctively, Elisa turned to run, but she was stopped by Finn’s men after just a few steps.
She glanced around; there were seven or eight people. So many bodyguards had never shown up before. When Finn was beaten, they didn’t even make an appearance. It seemed they had intentionally lowered their guard.
“Miss Powell, please come this way,” one of them said to Elisa.
Elisa turned the ring on her finger and then turned to face Finn.
Finn smirked, giving a meaningful look to his men, who then opened the car door for him. He gestured for Elisa to get in.
“Finn, is this your idea of fun?”
“Fun? Oh, there’s going to be even more fun later. Will you get in by yourself, or do I have to tie you up? Honestly, I’d prefer not to get rough with a woman.”
Elisa retorted, “What you did wasn’t just being rough; it was outright brutality.”
Finn’s eyes were cold, but a trace of amusement played at the corner of his mouth. He half-smiled, “It seems you know everything.”
“Of course, I know. I haven’t forgotten how you shot bullets into Autumn’s chest.”
She had known it was Finn in her previous life, three years ago.
She had known since the day she regained her memory and made that call to Finn.
The video of her being kidnapped, Finn demanding the South Water Island data, and his voice – she would never forget the atrocities committed by the man wearing the Ghost King mask that day. She would never forget the murder.
If there was one regret from her previous life, it was not being able to exact revenge on Finn. But now that fate had given her this chance, she wouldn’t miss it!
“You want revenge, don’t you? But…” Finn paused. “You can never get your revenge if you stay away from me forever.”
