Chapter 407: Sweet CP

Book:Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife Published:2024-6-4

“Let’s go downstairs to eat together,” Louis said.
The porridge Louis made was soft and glutinous, easy to digest for dinner, but it was just right to eat until half full.
Elisa had slept through the night without knowing what had happened online. Now, the whole world knew that Louis liked Elisa, but only Elisa herself was still in the dark.
In matters of love, Elisa was somewhat slow-witted in this lifetime. However, even with her tardiness, she could sense that Louis was different towards her. Nevertheless, neither of them had broached the subject.
Knowing that Elisa currently wanted to focus on her career and not on romantic relationships, Louis kept a safe distance, creating a comfortable space for Elisa, ensuring that she would not feel pressured.
During this period, Elisa would not be online. Once the heat had died down, the words he had posted would also disappear without a trace.
“Iris has already been brought to Bankshire,” Louis said as he finished the porridge, carrying the bowls into the kitchen.
Elisa followed him in, intending to help, but froze at Louis’s words.
“Where is she?” she asked.
“Do you want to see her now?” Louis asked.
Looking outside the window, Elisa inquired, “When was she brought by your people?”
“At five in the afternoon,” Louis replied, placing the bowls in the sink and turning on the water. By the time Elisa had reacted, he was already washing them.
Elisa reached out, and Louis immediately understood, turning the faucet to let her wash her hands.
While washing her hands, Elisa asked, “Why didn’t you wake me up?”
Louis explained, “You had just fallen asleep at the time, and I couldn’t bear to wake you. If you want to see her now, I’ll take you to her.”
“Where is she?”
“She’s not here, but not far. It’s a ten-minute drive from here. I’ve had someone watching her; she’s locked in the utility room.”
The weather wasn’t cold even though it was evening, so being locked in the utility room wasn’t much of a torment.
After washing her hands, Elisa naturally took the clean bowl from Louis, dried it with a towel, and placed it in the cupboard. The two of them worked together in the kitchen with remarkable harmony.
“Let’s go tomorrow morning. Rest well tonight, and you’re not allowed to stay up anymore.”
It was her affair, but Louis ended up busier than her. Although she had said she wanted to handle it on her own, he unwittingly did a lot for her.
What if she became used to relying on him and couldn’t do without him?
Whenever Elisa gazed at Louis’s face absentmindedly, she couldn’t help but look at his lips.
Louis nodded in agreement, bid Elisa goodnight, and returned to the bedroom to freshen up and rest.
He had thought that after enduring for so long without sleep, he would easily doze off once in bed. However, he tossed and turned without falling asleep.
Normally, he hardly ever checked Twitter. Today, however, he logged in several times, clicking on the post he had made.
Would such a “confession” be too heavy a burden for Elisa?
While he wanted Elisa to see the tweet, he also didn’t want her to see it. Some emotions couldn’t withstand any disturbances, and he feared that Elisa might distance herself from him to avoid suspicion.
Unable to sleep and constantly tossing and turning, he clicked on Elisa’s activity on Twitter numerous times. Eventually, a trending topic caught his attention.
“ElsaWhite CP Super Topic”
He clicked into it and instantly found a new world. It documented every little detail about him and Elisa, some of which he hadn’t even noticed.
Brushing past each other, casual glances, a photo of the two of them together (even though it was photoshopped). This super topic had 520, 000 followers, ranking first, and everyone here was trying to pair him with Elisa, with no objections or arguments.
Louis browsed through and couldn’t help but smile, and involuntarily clicked the follow button.
This follow was naturally noticed by others. The CP fans who had been prepared to go to bed at such a late hour were instantly energized by Louis’s follow, unable to sleep. They tossed and turned, continuing to engage.
“Please, Master, stay away from the fan life, okay?”
“My CP universe’s number one is truly the sweetest, and the master personally follows!”
“I don’t want to ship anymore. My master won’t pry open my mouth to feed me sugar.”
“Do you have to keep us awake in the middle of the night? I know you two are being sweet, right?”
That night, they gained another fifty thousand fans, reaching a million CP fans.
Louis, feeling satisfied, looked at the time, and finally fell asleep with his phone in hand at three in the morning. He woke up before six the next day to make breakfast.
Elisa also woke up at the same time and noticed the lingering dark circles under his eyes and the bloodshot eyes. “Did you not sleep last night?”
“I-I slept… I did sleep,” he stammered, clearly having some problems.
“If you slept, then why do you look so tired? You have dark circles and bloodshot eyes,” she remarked.
“Maybe a few more days of sleep will make them go away. I really did sleep last night,” he replied, although he hadn’t slept for very long.
Elisa didn’t press further, and they made breakfast together, enjoying pancakes and soy milk.
After finishing breakfast and tidying up before seven, Louis grabbed the car keys. “I’ll take you to see Iris.”
