Chapter 383 Lorelei Lila

Book:Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife Published:2024-6-4

If it were just Elisa’s script being edited, one might think that Elisa had offended the investors and had her scenes cut. But now, what’s been cut are the ambiguous scenes, which makes people have to think more.
“These two came early for you, not for Lorelei, isn’t that right? Why don’t you speak up?” Osvaldo sniffed out the gossip and, seeing Elisa ignoring him, eagerly grabbed her arm and shook it.
Suddenly, Elisa looked towards the door, her lips curling into a sinister smile.
This action was seen by Finn and Hamish.
Both of them didn’t look too good, almost wanting to chop off the hand that was grabbing Elisa’s arm.
The situation was tense over the script, and the atmosphere on set just wouldn’t lighten up, but thankfully Lorelei arrived.
The producer’s eyes lit up as if he had seen a savior.
“Lorelei, you’re here!” His loud shout attracted everyone’s attention.
Lorelei walked in, her face adorned with delicate makeup, gracefully dressed in costume.
The producer, preoccupied, didn’t notice the apprehensive look on Lorelei’s face at the moment.
Lorelei was afraid of both Hamish and Finn, a fear that had been deeply etched into her soul. Even after all these years, despite changing her name and identity, she hadn’t forgotten.
Especially Hamish, who locked her in a dog cage, leaving her with a dog for three days. She was extensively bitten and callously thrown into a small village.
If it weren’t for Hugo, she would have died long ago. Hugo took her for plastic surgery, changing her face, but her toes, bitten by the dog, could never fully recover.
As a result, she dared not wear skirts or expose her legs and feet, always shrouding them, afraid of letting others see her nauseating feet.
Lorelei hated Hamish’s cruelty. Despite accompanying him for so many years, she couldn’t compare to the night Elisa saved him.
Love is truly cheap.
Elisa died, burned alive. She deserved it! To have stomach cancer and still manage to survive for so many years, she was really lucky.
Hugo also had dog’s luck. After Elisa’s death, he lived in constant sorrow, suffering from mental illness and had no time to inquire about Lila, his mistress. He took over Lukas’s mess in Bankshire and became the boss of an underground gambling den, gaining more and more power, which made it easy for him to rescue Lila using a dead person.
After bringing Lila out, he took her abroad for plastic surgery and a name change. Without a second thought, he let her enter the entertainment industry.
It was thanks to Hugo that she was so successful in the entertainment industry all these years.
Lorelei hated Hamish, and hated Elisa even more, saying that Elisa was the instigator.
Although she was dead, hearing her name still affected Lorelei’s emotions.
When another person named Elisa appeared in the company, not only did her name match, but she also bore some resemblance to the past Elisa.
She directed all her hatred towards this Elisa.
First, she pretended to be her good friend, then tricked her into the director’s room and drugged her. Unfortunately, that night she didn’t take the drug, otherwise, being publicly condemned online wouldn’t have been so simple. After that, she did something to make the company blame everything on Elisa, forcing her to watch as everyone around her abandoned her, as fans deserted her, as everyone online was cursing her.
Lorelei thought, what could be more distressing than seeing one’s hopes dissipate?
She was no longer the old Lila, she was Lorelei. She thought she could step on this “Elisa” for the rest of her life, to see her suffer and commit suicide, disappearing like a speck of dust in the universe.
The turning point came on the day of the audition for “Revenge and Love.” Lorelei intended to deliver a final blow to Elisa, but instead, the blow struck herself.
At first, Lorelei thought Elisa was just lucky for a moment, that her triumph wouldn’t last long. Who would have thought that Elisa seemed to have changed, and despite ruining her reputation, Elisa easily salvaged it by participating in a variety show.
The more Lorelei thought about it, the more she hated it. Upon entering, she found Elisa’s location and glared at her like a cold, venomous snake.
When she saw Elisa look her way, Lorelei quickly shifted her gaze, but even after looking away, she could still feel the coldness emanating from that direction, like an evil spirit.
Lorelei was already guilty, and now she was even more afraid to lift her head.
She was “invited” over, with no idea whatwas going to happen next.
That day at the opening banquet, she made a speech under the influence of alcohol. If one were to scrutinize it, nothing conclusive could be deduced, after all, she didn’t admit to anything. Furthermore, she also stated that the “no” and “don’t know” were just the speculations of the people present at the scene, and the rumors were just their own fabrications, what did it have to do with her?
Lorelei should never have gotten involved with these two, she should have known better. But she couldn’t control her vanity, and on top of that, Finn and Hamish were both busy people in their work. They invested in industries, but they couldn’t oversee every single one, usually delegating to others, let alone investing in a film crew.
Therefore, Lorelei never expected Finn and Hamish to visit the set.
Seeing these two at the set, all that was left in her was fear, apart from feeling guilty.
