Louis asked the flight attendant for a cup of iced coffee. The flight attendant recognized him at a glance, her excited face turning red as she brought the coffee over and enthusiastically added several sugar packets. Louis liked coffee but couldn’t stand it bitter, a fact well-known to his fans. He murmured a “thank you” in a lazy, deep voice, slightly hoarse, like a quiet current flowing into the ears.
The flight attendant blushed. If she hadn’t been on duty, she would have definitely asked Louis for his autograph.
After drinking half of the iced coffee, Louis set it aside and opened his phone to check Twitter. His agent casually glanced at his phone and immediately frowned. Unable to hold back, he asked, “Why are you still looking at this person’s trending topics?”
The trending topic Louis was looking at was related to “Elisa.” He didn’t know why he was concerned about this name, to the extent of creating a separate Twitter account just to follow her.
“Could it be that you’re interested in her?” The agent’s expression turned to terror. It was not surprising that he would think so, especially since Louis had never shown interest in any female celebrities, let alone such a fervent interest!
Louis always gave off an air of indifference, like a monk in a temple, not interested in anything except work. He had starred in three movies, none of which had anything to do with romance, and he couldn’t even stir up a rumor.
In the entertainment industry, he was seen as pure and clean, an idol that fans could trust entirely.
But now, he had intentionally applied for an account to follow Elisa, and since yesterday, he had been constantly checking the tweets about her.
As for Elisa, there’s no need for a detailed introduction. If Louis was like the pure white clouds in the sky, then Elisa was the lowly mud. There was no connection between the two.
Louis glanced at him, his expression deep and meaningful. The silence was more terrifying than any reply he could have given, and any sarcastic remark was forcibly held back.
After a moment of silence, Louis said, “Her name sounds nice.”
The atmosphere became somewhat tense at this point. At that moment, the flight attendant brought over blankets, giving one to Louis and the other to a woman sitting in front of him.
The woman also turned suddenly, and their gazes coincidentally met in mid-air, both freezing in place.
They had never met in person, but Elisa recognized Louis at first sight. He was wearing sunglasses, but his slightly upturned lips revealed his prominent canines.
Louis had only seen a few photos of Elisa on Twitter, and last night, he had stayed up late to watch a TV series she starred in. He enjoyed watching others’ acting skills, and while Elisa’s performance in the series was average, for some reason, he found himself constantly lost in thought while looking at her face. He had watched a 24-episode TV series, entirely focused on Elisa.
The series had been released a year ago, and in that year, Elisa had undergone significant changes, starting to heavily use makeup. What once aligned with her pure image had ultimately transformed into a provocative and cheap appearance.
Not only had her image changed, but her life had also undergone a drastic transformation. It all began with her being involved in a “casting couch” scandal for a role, resulting in her being vilified across the internet. Then, from time to time, reports would surface about her seducing various male celebrities.
She had become a public scapegoat, with everyone condemning her. Even breathing seemed to become a mistake.
Louis had been busy with filming for the past two years, and his free time was spent traveling. If it hadn’t been for a recent chance to participate in a variety show and stumbling upon Elisa’s name on Twitter, he might have never known her for the rest of his life.
Elisa, her name sounded beautiful, like a gentle breeze blowing through his dreams, echoing countless times.
During their eye contact, nothing could be seen beyond their eyes. But Louis was certain that she was Elisa. Her eyes were different in person compared to the photos online, more distinctive, and once her beautiful pupils locked on, they were like magnets, making it impossible to look away.
Her everyday attire was very ordinary, a shirt and jeans, her hair flowing gently over her shoulders. A mask covered half of her face, but it did not hinder Louis from picturing her features in his mind.
Since last night, he had been imagining various scenes of meeting Elisa, perhaps passing by each other on the street or catching a glimpse of her on stage. But he never imagined that he would see her so soon. At that moment, he felt nervous, with a dry mouth and a pounding heart, emotions that burst forth like a floodgate, breaking through his usually calm demeanor.
After three seconds of locking eyes, Elisa turned away, and Louis’s disappointment became visible on his face. His agent noticed something was wrong. How could Louis’s mood shift so drastically in just a few seconds? It seemed like he was acting in a movie. As Louis continued to gaze in the direction where Elisa sat, his agent followed his line of sight.
“Who is that?”
Louis suddenly stood up. “Let’s move. Change seats,” he said, wanting to sit closer to Elisa.
The agent, bewildered, found himself inexplicably relocated. Normally, Louis would be engrossed in his own affairs as soon as he boarded a plane. When did he become so interested in the outside world?
Something was off. It was too off.
The agent glanced at the spot Louis had been staring at and realized that it was Elisa, who had been trending on social media in the past week.
The agent was now not just worried that Louis might have developed feelings for her, but rather, he was absolutely certain.
“Isn’t that… Elisa?” he asked.
Louis murmured a low “yes,” his eyes fixed in Elisa’s direction, not moving an inch.
The agent’s expression twisted awkwardly. He had been with Louis for two years and believed he knew him well.
Louis had a face that seemed as though it had been crafted by the heavens, stunning and captivating. Both men and women would go weak in the knees upon seeing him. He appeared indifferent, seemingly uninterested in anything, but once he set his sights on something, no matter how challenging, he would obtain it.
Louis had a secret that no one knew: the more he liked someone, the more he wanted to be close to them, like a piece of adhesive, and sometimes, he would act contrary to his aloof persona. Like a child, he would suddenly get angry or stubborn, and he would enjoy it when the person he liked would fawn over him.
