Chapter 232: Half-Brothers with Different Mothers

Book:Mr. Burns Is Killing His Wife Published:2024-6-4

When Elisa told Hamish that she was eating alone, it was because she didn’t want to have much to do with Finn, and she had intended to share a table with someone else. She didn’t see it as having a meal with others.
Yet the photos that appeared on Hamish’s phone now left her speechless, confirming what Finn had said. Hamish didn’t trust her.
All the way until they got home and went to bed, Elisa felt there was an element of gambling in her heart, but she hadn’t expected to lose so miserably.
Hamish didn’t even believe her explanation.
Her silence seemed like an admission of guilt to Hamish, which made him even angrier. He pinched Elisa’s chin, glaring down at her. “Even if you have amnesia, you wouldn’t forget how to lie and seduce others!”
“I didn’t seduce anyone,” Elisa said, looking at the frostiness covering Hamish’s face, her heart twisting. “What can these few photos prove? We just watched a movie and had a meal. Can’t I make friends?”
“Make friends?” Hamish sneered darkly. “Is this how you make friends? Elisa, I never thought you’d have the audacity. Have you forgotten that you are my wife? Dare to fabricate such lies to deceive me for another man.”
No matter what Elisa said, he didn’t believe her. Once the seed of suspicion was planted, it could never be completely removed.
Proud and arrogant, Hamish detested being deceived by those closest to him.
If Elisa had been honest from the beginning, he wouldn’t be so furious now.
Yet, a significant part of his anger stemmed from the fact that the person Elisa had met today was Finn.
Finn was his half-brother from another mother. Over a decade ago, their parents died in a car accident, and he was taken in by the Burns family. He had taken on his mother’s surname and had not changed it back since.
Thinking about the past, a wave of nausea rose in Hamish’s stomach.
“After having lunch together, you even brought back dessert. How unforgettable was that lunch? Are you planning to chat with your ‘good friend’ on Facebook behind my back?”
Elisa’s eyes reddened with anger. “Hamish, you jerk! I have never thought of such a thing!”
As soon as Elisa’s words fell, he reached out, grasping her chin, causing her some discomfort, and forced her to raise her head. Then, a scorching, punitive kiss landed on her lips.
After the kiss, he held her chin, forcing her to meet his eyes. Hamish’s gaze was dark and fierce, flashing with a cold light, “If you dare to think about it, I’ll lock you up and keep you away from everyone!”
The intensity of Hamish’s reaction caught Elisa off guard. Her impression of Hamish after her amnesia had always been gentle, and she had never expected him to lose his temper with her or to threaten to lock her up.
Was the only reason for this because she had lied to him? And who exactly was Finn, and what was his relationship with Hamish?
Seeing Elisa distracted beneath him only made Hamish angrier. He hadn’t expected his own reaction to be so strong, but the thought of Elisa and Finn watching a movie together, having a meal together, and possibly doing more, made him tremble with anger. He couldn’t quell the hostility within himself.
He and Finn were blood-related half-brothers, or rather, bitter enemies who always fought over the same things, with Finn stopping at nothing!
