Chapter 153: Betrayed by the Closest Person

“Wait until you’re willing.” Lukas smiled and refilled his glass, instructing his subordinates, “Take her to the room.”
Elisa remained silent, lowering her gaze to conceal her emotions in her eyes. Subconsciously, she reached into her coat pocket.
When Elisa was lifted up, she couldn’t focus on determining the direction anymore. Asking for help was out of the question, as this was Lukas’s territory, filled with his people.
If she asked for help, not only would she fail to escape, but she would also anger Lukas.
Thrown onto the bed, Elisa’s bag was confiscated. She felt aching all over, and she immediately vomited, either from the alcohol or from the blood in her stomach.
It hurt… This pain was not only physical but also deeper, hurting her heart. Physical pain could be healed, but the pain in her heart was unbearable even to think about; it was incurable.
Actually, there was nothing to feel so bad about, Elisa reassured herself. After all, it wasn’t the first time she had been betrayed.
Now she could decisively sever ties with Ivan. Without Ivan burdening her, she wouldn’t have to endure Hamish’s coercion anymore.
If she could survive tonight, she would definitely divorce Hamish.
Elisa took out a small fruit knife from the inner pocket of her clothes, gripping it tightly in her hand.
This small knife could save her life or end it in critical moments.
Afraid of losing consciousness, Elisa bit down hard on the bedsheet and forcefully stabbed the knife into her thigh. The intense pain brought her back to a slight state of clarity.
Elisa clenched her teeth, her eyes filled with anger, and sweat covered her forehead.
She propped herself up, intending to get off the bed, but she overestimated her physical condition. Before her feet could touch the ground, her body completely lost control and rolled onto the floor.
Fortunately, there was a carpet on the floor, so the fall wasn’t painful. Elisa realized her physical limitations; she couldn’t walk out of there.
Elisa moved to the water dispenser and pressed the cold water button, immediately drinking it and simultaneously gagging, which was harmful to her stomach. But she had no other choice; it was the only way to dilute the effects of the drugs.
After drinking a few sips of cold water, her mind became clearer, but her stomach also became more painful.
There was a commotion at the door, and Elisa immediately tensed up, raising her gaze to look.
The door handle rattled, and Lukas walked in. Seeing her sitting in front of the water dispenser with a puddle of water on the floor, he quickly understood the situation.
“If you have difficulty moving, you can wait for me to feed you water. He appeared concerned on the surface, but his eyes hid a cold gleam.
“No need for Mr. Bell to trouble himself,” Elisa spoke more clearly than before. She sat leaning against the water dispenser, locking eyes with Lukas for two seconds before silently laughing.
“Mr. Bell, I really don’t advise you to touch me. You may not understand Hamish. Although he has no emotional attachment to me, he is possessive. Once he has used something, he won’t give it to anyone else, even if he throws it away.”
“Mr. Bell, you’re also a businessman. I don’t believe you don’t know the pros and cons. Offending Hamish for just one night is not worth it.”
Lukas hadn’t interacted with Hamish and only had bits of information about him, but he trusted only twenty percent of what Elisa said.
On the other hand, he knew Elisa to a much greater extent. Many people had said that this woman was very intelligent.
Today, he had witnessed it himself-she remained calm in the face of danger, even when being brought to the bed, she was still looking for opportunities to negotiate and escape.
“Whether it’s worth it or not, it’s not for you to decide, Elisa. If you are brought to me, I won’t let you go.”
