Chapter Seventeen

So, well, after debating with myself for a short while, together with Vicki’s persuasion, I had agreed to go on a walk with Ryan. However, there was no big deal in walking with him. And, between, it was a good idea. The streets were usually very silent at night, which meant people wouldn’t have to see us together. I didn’t want anyone from Twinkle Stars to see us, and think there was really a thing between us.
Noticing he was in casual denim jeans pants, grey-colored hoodie sweater, and a canvas shoe, I knew he hadn’t come here just after he had left the office. Okay, it was time to say something to him. I was tired of biting my lip, feeling shy. My heart had to stop beating this hard.
“So, you didn’t go to work today?” I started, shortly after clearing my throat.
He glanced at me, smiled. “I did. Raymond got on my nerves, so I left there by three.”
“So, who did the work around there?” I asked further.
“I’ve got a new secretary. She’s an intern,” he informed me.
“Oh.” I nodded to denote I had understood what he had said.
Again, there was silence. Gosh, what was stopping me from speaking? Was all this because of the kiss from last night?
“About last night…” He said.
I swallowed hard, lowered my head, intertwined my fingers in each other, bit my lip, praying for him to keep quiet. I didn’t want him to say anything about it.
I managed to create some confidence, then looked at him. He stopped walking, and I did the same. He faced me, and of course, I faced him as well. Since the street was very silent, I guessed it was the perfect time for him to say something about our kiss. No, his kiss.
Breath in girl, breath out, I thought to myself.
He scratched the back of his neck, laughed weirdly. “Well, you see, I get possessed by shitty things sometimes. I’m sorry about it.”
“Is there a reason you did it?” I almost regretted asking that. Was I expecting him to say something?
He pursed his lips, nodded gently. Gosh, he had kissed me for a reason? Oh, boy! What reason?
“I… thought I’d miss you. So, I decided to kiss you,” he said.
Okay. I was disappointed. He had kissed me because he had missed me? What was I? A toy? I knew he was up to no good! What a cow he was.
“So, you just kiss anyone you think you miss?” I raised an eyebrow at him. Oh, well, I wouldn’t let him know I was abruptly annoyed. I guessed I had to try to control my words.
He chortled. “No. Come on, that can’t be done. It was nothing but a friendly kiss. Trust me.”
“Then don’t do it again.” I linked my arms on my chest, wearing the this-is-not-funny look. “I’m not a toy, okay? If I need a friendly kiss, I’d ask my mom or dad to peck me. As easy as that.”
“I’m sorry if it makes you angry.” He shrugged.
I scoffed. “Gosh. How can you be this reluctant, after doing a crazy thing? You kissed a lady randomly, and then, you tell her it’s a friendly kiss. Isn’t that irresponsible and crazy?”
“Serene.” He raised his hands to his chest region, gesturing I should calm down. He furrowed his eyebrows, seeming confused. “I’m sorry, okay? It’s happened already. And, I’d thought you were fine with it. I’m sorry.”
“Oh, I get it now!” I retorted. I snapped my fingers in the air, unable to control my anger. “Tell me, what was with the desire that was running in your eyes? Does this mean you were planning to kiss me, then move on to something crazier?”
“No, no.” He widened his eyes, shaking his head swiftly. “I swear, I didn’t intend to do that. See, don’t see it the wrong way. I was just— See, I’m sorry. It won’t happen again, I promise.”
“Uh-huh.” I nodded like an insane person. “And, in case you wanna do it again, try doing it with Sherri. She’s yearning to have you.”
“Agreed,” he spat out immediately.
To be honest, something was wrong with me. What was with this bitter emotion that was running through me? Even when he had kissed me, I hadn’t felt this bad. I had kind of blushed. Had I really expected the reason behind his kiss to be something different? Oh, shit, I was being an idiot.
We continued to stroll. Obviously, I had ruined the calmness which had been moving around us. Sometimes, I wondered why my parents named me “Serene”. My lifestyle contrasted that. I was pretty erratic, and could sometimes get angry for the tiniest things.
“Hey.” Feeling quite bad, I grabbed Ryan’s arm. He turned to me, his eyebrows cocked at me. I sighed. “I’m sorry, Mr. Arthur. Being frank, last night, I was fine with the kiss. I was only surprised. So, complaining about it makes me feel like a hypocrite. I truly wasn’t angry.”
He smiled. He took a step close, pinched my cheek. “First, since I’m no longer your boss, you can call me by my first name. Second, it’s fine. I’m used to the way girls get angry for almost everything. So, it’s fine.”
I bit my smile. “Okay. Good then. You aren’t such an asshole after all, Ryan.”
He smiled. “Yep.”
We walked to the bench which was close to an ice cream shop that had been closed. Getting there, we sat on it, staring at the sky.
“Is there a reason you came over to see me? For a second time,” I marked out.
“Hm…” He sucked his teeth, his hand tugging on the back of his neck. “Well, since Raymond pissed me off, I needed to cool my senses for a while. So I decided to come here.”
“Kk.” I nodded.
Clutching my legs together, I rolled my hands in a fist as I placed them on my lap, clenching my upper teeth against my lower lip. I squeezed my face, seeming so much like I was about to cry. Well, nothing very crazy was wrong with me. All I needed to do was to pee.
“Are you okay?” Ryan asked.
I looked at him, laughed nervously, blinking as if I was confused. “N-No. I mean, yeah. It’s just that—”
“Do you need some water?” He cut into me.
I swallowed hard. “No. Um, do you have a tissue paper with you?”
He cocked an eyebrow at me. “You don’t expect me to go around with a tissue, right?”
“Gosh, I’m gonna pee on my body.” I stood up, scrolling my eyes around. “Alright, is there a restroom around here? I wanna pee.”
He chuckled. “Don’t think so. Guess you’ll have to pee on your body. Don’t worry, I won’t say it to anyone.”
“This isn’t funny!” I cried.
“Alright, alright.” He sighed, then stood up. “There’s a bush behind us. Go there, and pee on the ground.”
“Isn’t that illegal?”
He snorted. “No one’s gonna find out. Only if I call the police on you.”
“You won’t dare.” I narrowed my eyes at him.
He chuckled. “Go now. Will wait here.”
“Thanks,” I said.
Jogging out of his sight, I made my way into the small bush. This was really crazy, but seriously, I could pee on my body in no time. I twirled my neck around, ensuring no one was around. Well, good for me, no one in his right sense should be staying in a bush.
In a rush, I unzipped my jean pants, pulled my panty downwards, then crouched. Trying as much as possible to be careful, I began to pee. Finally.
Okay, this peeing-mission started out great and refreshing, until something growled behind me. I had been so pressed earlier, so it felt like my bladder was suspending a whole lot of urine. I was spending so much time already.
With widened eyes, a racing heart, cold fingers, weak knees, a hopeless mind, I squirmed my neck around, only for me to see a big, fat, dirty, wretched-looking boerboel dog growling at me.
I gasped for air, breathed hard, my heart racing even faster. “H-Hey, doggie? You need something?”
And then, it began to bark, though it remained in its position. I knew I was supposed to do something, but if I ran, it would run after me. Also, I wasn’t done peeing. My urine got stuck, and it wasn’t willing to be excreted, although I was still so pressed.
Good Lord, who or what would help me out of this?
It kept barking, and even seemed like it would come close.
“Oh my gosh! Ryan!” I cried at the top of my voice, and stood up immediately. Not even being able to pull up my panty and pant, I began to run. “Help me! Ryan, come here!”
Only God could help me out of this. Wait, what if Ryan had to see me without my pants on?
