After a refreshing shower with the delectable Miss Manroe, I finally head down stairs for breakfast. The table is already set and the food has been covered to keep it warm. Very thoughtful! I also had no idea I was going to spend that much time in the bedroom. All for good reasons… The huge grin on my face tells it all. I have been grinning a lot this weekend. It was such an enjoyable night, and morning. Aria really knows how to amaze me.
She heads down the stairs, the black dress hugging her curves perfectly. I make a mental note to give Cassandra credit for the good choice of clothes. Perhaps she could select for me other clothes for Aria. Am I overshooting on this? Just because she accepted to come over to my house and spend the night with me doesn’t mean that she will always accept. This is so alien to me. I have never brought a woman into my house. I am always alone in my house, I hardly ever come here. Actually, my hotel room is more of a home to me because I spend there much more time than here. If it hadn’t been for Aria, I doubt that I would be here anyway. She is quite the destruction I needed this weekend.
“Hi you. You look gorgeous,” I say as she walks past me.
“Thank you, for the dress,” she tells me.
“You are welcome. It looks so good on you. A perfect fit,” I say while running my hand down her waist. I can’t get my hands off her. She gives me a sweet smile and takes a sit beside me. I open the dishes and serve her. I like this. It feels normal. I could get used to this.
“Oh, wow! Tastes good,” she moans. I watch as she devours her food. I must have wasted away all her energy. The last food she ate was at the shore. Sure it must have wasted away. I try to concentrate on my food but I can stop myself from taking glances at her at some point during the meal.
“Is it usually this quiet?” she asks while sipping on her coffee.
“Yes, all the time, unless grandma is around. The staff hardly find it necessary to fill the silence with unnecessarily loud chatter,” I respond.
“I see. Does your grandmother come by often?” she asks.
“She used to. She would even stay around for a week or two, but not often these days. I prefer to visit her at her place. Its better for her health not to travel much. Besides, I am hardly ever here. She would be bored here on her own,” I reply.
“She must be very proud of you. She is lucky to have such a hard-working grandson like you,” she says.
“I am not sure about that. I was so much trouble when I was younger. After loosing my parents, I nearly lost my mind. My grandmother and I weren’t so close. I hardly visited her as a child, so it was hard to get accustomed to living with her. I wasn’t used to the environment. I missed my parents. I was a rowdy teenager. So much trouble for an old woman,” I say, my thoughts running back to those days. I was looking for a society where I could fit. I almost got lost… lost to where I could not be found.
“Grandma is a strong woman. I try hard to make it up to her, but no amount of everything is enough to change those hard times. I owe my life to her,” I say.
“But you turned out great. You are a responsible man who owns this heavy business that can’t be run by just anyone. I am sure she is proud of you. It doesn’t matter what happened in the past. As long as you managed to reach where you are,” she says, trying to comfort me. Aria, you have no idea. I was almost transforming into a beast. But as she said, I managed to get where I am. The past is behind me. It hardened me to become the man I am.
“I hope so,” I mumble and take a sip on my coffee.
We finish our meal and clear the table. Aria offers to do the dishes but I stop her. They will be taken care of.
“What do you want to do? We still have some time before we head back,” I tell her.
“Oh, I had almost forgotten I have work tomorrow,” she says with an giggle.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want,” I say with a shrug.
“Come on! It is the first real job I have had in my life. I want to do it well,” she says.
“It is a part-time job,” I tell her.
“It is still a job though,” she defends.
“I could talk to Mr Hendricks about it. I am sure we could figure out a working solution,” I suggest. She gasps and then narrows her eyes at me.
“You wouldn’t!” she squeaks in disbelief. She threatens, but her voice is not anywhere near intended.
“Actually, I would,” I tell her.
“That wouldn’t be an appropriate thing to do!” she asserts, but her voice is tremulous and soft. She doesn’t sound mad at all.
“Wouldn’t it, Miss Manroe? That would be one of the least things I would do to have you,” I say, my eyes narrowed at her. I watch with a smirk as her pupils dilate and cheeks flush. She pulls her lower lip between her teeth and gnaws on it. I gaze at her, treasuring her flushed face and shining eyes.
“Don’t you have work to do?” she inquires, trying to change the spotlight from her.
“I do, ofcourse, but I can work from here. I can delegate the practical stuff to my capable staff,” I respond.
“Ofcourse you can, but I prefer to do my work on my own since I don’t have anyone to delegate it to. I have to work for a living,” she asserts.
“Why so? I also work for a living, Aria,” I tell her and she rolls her eyes.
“Yours is a totally different case from mine, Mr. Carter,” she responds.
“You seem very determined. Have you gone ahead to apply for an intern job?” I ask her.
“No, not yet. I think I will go ahead and first ask Mr Hendricks for me a full-time job,” she replies.
“Oh, okay. Take your time. There is nothing to rush about,” I say.
“Why do I feel like there is something I should be worried about that piece of advice? I have bills to pay. I need a more stable job,” she says.
“I can understand your situation. Go ahead and do your thing. Your future is in your hands. It’s up to you to make it shine,” I tell her
“Now that sounds more like it!” she cheers and then goes silent, looking around suspiciously.
“This really is a quiet place. Is there anyone else in here?” she asks.
“Yes, but they keep their distance from the main wing, where I spend most of my time,” I respond.
“But you hardly spend any time here,” she says.
“Exactly. That’s why it is a little bit ghostly. It’s only your presence that makes it come to life,” I tell her, and she blushes.
“Is that what you say to all the girls you bring here?” she asks me.
“What girls?” I inquire with a raised eyebrow.
“The girls that you bring here to your house, and give them the night to remember,” she replies. I can’t stop the laugh that escapes my lips. She frowns and folds her arms infront of her chest.
“First of all, I have never brought a girl to my house. You are the first one to bring here, and give a night to remember,” I say, using her words to make my point clear. A shy smile spreads on her lips and she stares into my eyes.
“Why did you bring me here? Your suite was there,” she asks me. Why so many questions, Miss Manroe? Very inquisitive! What does she want to here.
“I don’t know. I just want to spend to spend the weekend with you. You are a better reason to go home than check on how it is running,” I respond.
“If you want to go to my hotel suite, I can arrange for that. I will be there all week,” I say, shocking myself as well. Another time. Since when do I want another time? I don’t understand myself, but perhaps I don’t need to think much about it. For once in my life, there is a woman I want to look forward to another time with. Grandma would be proud. This is so out of my world yet it feels so right in every way.
“Okay,” she responds.
“Are you sure?” I ask, just to confirm.
“Yes. I would like to have another night to remember,” she replies her cheeks turning rosey red. She gives me a sweet smile, and I smile back. I would also love to take her again. She must be sore after last night and this moaning, but my evil mind tells me that she shouldn’t be able to walk after next time. An devilish grin spreads on my face, as I start to plan what we could do, what I could do to her…. Another time… The thought is unfamiliar in my head but it is is always good to try new things, I guess.
