She was from the family of Anderson Robert! In fact, Stacy was his niece!
Anderson Robert was a business man and his business was gradually progressing. Everyone in his family believed in his business, they saw it as a major growth in the family. It was looked up to as what would be the family business in the near future. The family thought they would strike gold with that. Meanwhile, Anderson was dating a certain young lady, Lily. All who knew them looked forward to their marriage. They were the perfect and exemplary couple. But one day changed everything. This perfect couple broke up and called off the relationship for reasons best known to them. It wasn’t made public. A year later, Anderson travelled to Italy. His family members believed he travelled to get back himself after the breakup, leaving behind the family business. Some even claimed that Lily had come to see him a few months ago and that was why he had to run away, to escape her. But this was all said inside the safety of their homes. No one dared to be in Landers’ bad books. A few months later, his corpse was brought home to his family. They all blamed Lily for everything that happened. They assumed a lot of things, said all sorts of things about her and swore to deal with her. Anderson’s greedy relations capitalized on the fact that he had no child and mismanaged the business. Millions of dollars were looted and this company that was supposed to leave a mark in the sands of time crumbled overnight. That was how the dream of the family business closed down, leaving them in the same financial state till the present time.
Had Stacy heard the story and come to revenge? Was she sent there by her family members so that they can get back to the Landers for what happened to their family business? He called Daisy and asked her to come over. When he showed her the information he received, she agreed that Stacy was a potential threat to them
“Evil lies in seemingly quiet ones! You don’t know what plans she has in that heart of hers. She’s only threading cautiously and will swoop down on us one day. Get rid of her!” Few minutes later, she was sacked from the company. She pleaded but there was no one to listen to her. She was only sent out of the company for no reason. She figured out it might be the question she asked Ivan earlier that morning. The only good thing Ivan did was that he made sure her salary was paid in full even if she had worked for just a few days that month. Then he deposited some money into her account.
“So my dad was a wealthy man and mum had to murder him. I’m sure that family doesn’t know he died by mum’s sword.”
“They don’t. Grandfather didn’t let the news spread.”
“I see,” she said even when she didn’t see anything.
“Why do you think they broke up?”
“Maybe she told him she was pregnant for me or something. Let’s get grandfather to tell us what we need to know. I’m curious about my roots.”
Speak of the devil, Ivan’s phone rang and it was grandfather.
“How far have you come with Jace group?”
“Very far. I followed your counsel and we are almost even. We will need to apply a few more measures and forces and it will be yours. I’m working on the oppositions in the company.”
“That’s lovely. You are a true son of your father,” Easton praised. Daisy nudged Ivan and mouthed,
“Ask him. Tell him we want to know.”
“Emm, grandfather, please, will you be free this evening?”
“Sure. Is there a problem?”
“No, we just want to find out something that’s been bothering us.”
“We? Who are the we?”
“Daisy and I. We will appreciate it if you spare us only a few minutes of your time.”
“Common son. You don’t have to be too formal. I’ll be expecting you both.”
He sent for the personnel manager and said to him,
“Go through the list of the candidates that qualified for the position of my secretary in the last interview. Get the second person to come and work for me. And be fast about it.”
The man returned some minutes later to report that this lady was employed in another firm.
“I see that you are tired of working in vintage group. You can resign if you want.”
“No sir. I’m eager to work here sir. I’ll do everything to get her to work with us.”
How silly of him. Who in the world wouldn’t give up anything to work at Vintage? Or stay close to this young and handsome CEO? He only needed to bring the offer to the lady, and she would be tendering her resignation in few seconds. The salary at Vintage couldn’t be compared to the one she received at her current place of work. In fact, she received peanuts at her place of work compared to what she was offered at Vintage.
“Sir, I’ve informed her. She’s to resume tomorrow, sir,” the manager said grinning from ear to ear. He had just saved his job by doing something brilliant. He couldn’t imagine going back to the labour market to job hunt!
Daisy and Ivan went home together at the close of work but that was after they had something to eat at a very classy and notable restaurant in the area. They got home at approximately the same time with Katty. She was just coming down from her car when their car drove in. She hurried to Ivan’s side of the car and hugged him as soon as he stepped down.
“Hi brother. It’s been a while. How are you?”
“Very well. Thank you. You look adorable!” he complimented.
“Awww. You can say that again,” she smiled. She turned to Daisy and rolled her eyes at her.
“It’s good you are home. I’m glad to see you. Let’s go in.”
She held his hands and made to pull him away. Ivan turned and held Daisy with his other free hand. That way, he had solved the problem and wouldn’t have any of them complaining to him about partial treatment.
Easton was waiting for them at the garden. He invited them to eat but they declined, saying they had eaten.
“Fine. I’m all ears. What is it that you want to find out from me?”
