Javier quickly shifted his gaze to find Elvis looking back at him as soon as Olivia mentioned the word ‘pregnant’. Elvis subtly gestured for him to stay calm by shaking his head, and Javier nodded in response.
Turning just in time, he caught Natalie giving him a sly smile, making him wonder about her intentions.
Natalie couldn’t believe the drama unfolding in front of her, as she find it interesting.
Elvis wondered, ‘Who is she trying to set up?’ as he
faced Olivia with a disdain look in his eyes.
Olivia stood tall, relishing the attention she was receiving. She hadn’t anticipated Javier backing out at the last minute, especially after agreeing to all the engagement arrangements. Despite feeling slighted, she refused to let him see her defeated.
If Javier intended to embarrass her in front of everyone, she vowed to bring his entire family down with her. The malicious thought brought a smirk to her lips as the crowd buzzed with questions.
“Who could be responsible?”
“Could it be that Javier got her pregnant and planned to leave her on their engagement day?”
“Javier is heartless. How could he abandon his pregnant fiancée on such an important day?”
Alverdo turned and started walking towards his daughter, his heart racing with excitement. He was incredibly proud of Olivia, silently congratulating her on her clever move.
Standing in front of her, a smile spread across his face. “Are you really pregnant?” he asked, his eyes shining with excitement as he gently took her hands in his.
Olivia nodded, smiling through tears. “Yes, Daddy,” she replied.
“I’m so proud of you,” he whispered, smiling warmly.
Suddenly, Helen burst in and confronted Olivia, slapping her across the face, “My son can’t stoop too low to what you are accusing him of.” Angrily denying the accusations against her son. Olivia stood her ground, only serving to further enrage Helen.
Reyes hurried to stand in front of Helen and grasped her hand, attempting to force a fake smile as the cameras focused on them. “Let’s try to resolve this calmly, dear,” Reyes whispered to Helen, who was shooting a fierce look at Olivia, who rolled her eyes.
“Reyes, can’t you see she’s….”
“Helen, he needs to face the consequences of his actions. Stop shielding him,” Zoe interjected, cutting off Helen before she could protest. She approached Helen with a taunting smile.
Zoe wouldn’t lose this golden opportunity to rid herself of Helen’s mockery, as Helen always brags effortlessly about how perfect her son is to everyone. She constantly throws it in Zoe’s face that Javier is better than Carlo. Now Zoe sees it as payback time, to taunt Helen for all the embarrassment she has caused her.
“Do you think my son is a cheap male whore like your son? Javier would never do what she’s accusing him of. Javier hates her!” Helen retorted screaming, quickly grasping Zoe’s insinuation.
Zoe burst into a loud, nervous laughter. “There she goes again, boasting about her flawless son,” Zoe said, managing to calm her laughter. “Don’t tell me you taught your son to use women and then dump them, and evade his responsibilities. It’s disgraceful, especially coming from someone like you,” she said, with a look of disgust.
Helen was taken aback by Zoe’s words, prompting her to question herself. She was unsure where she had gone wrong, as she could swear on her life that Javier was not irresponsible. From the very beginning, Javier had disliked Olivia and always treated her with disdain. She turned to look at Javier, who met her gaze with an emotionless expression, adding to her confusion.
“Zoe, please stop.” Reyes begged Zoe to cease her harsh words.
Alverdo suddenly burst into laughter. “You publicly rejected my daughter, yet you sleep with her in private. Now the evidence is here for all to see.” He said, circling Javier, who remained unfazed by the situation. He turned to his daughter with a smile, “Olivia, tell the world who is responsible for your pregnancy.” He encouraged Olivia to speak out loud, with everyone recording the scene.
Reyes ran and stood in front of Alverdo, placing his hands on his shoulders. “We don’t have to do this in front of everyone. Let’s resolve this peacefully.” He urged in a calm voice, then turned to Elvis, signaling him to dismiss the onlookers.
Elvis understood the message and tried to walk past Zoe, but she held onto his arms firmly. “No one is leaving. The world needs to see Javier’s true colors.” She shouted for all to hear.
Marcus quickly grabbed her hand, turning her to face him with a puzzled expression. “Javier is your family, why are you doing this?” he inquired.
Zoe smiled at him and firmly pushed her husband’s hand away, positioning herself in front of Olivia. “Don’t worry, I’m here to support you. Tell them the truth,” she whispered reassuringly.
Olivia remained composed, exhaling in relief as she felt grateful that her father and another member of the Reyes family were standing by her side every step of the way.
After a brief moment of silence, with everyone eagerly awaiting her response, Olivia carefully considered her words. She was aware that Javier would stop at nothing to prove her wrong, possibly even resorting to surveillance. Despite this, she was determined to stand her ground and ultimately achieve her goal of staying in the Reyes mansion. In order to accomplish this, she must make Carlo the scapegoat.
“Don’t worry, we’re here for you,” her father said, gently patting her shoulder to reassure her.
Olivia nodded at her father’s words. “Carlo is the one who got me pregnant!” Olivia shouted for all to hear.
Zoe trembled, but Marcus quickly caught her arms to keep her from falling. She was stunned by Olivia’s words, and suddenly regained herself. “You’re lying, what did you just say?” Zoe yelled, then charged at Olivia like an enraged lion.
