Evelyn paused for a moment, then the sound of her eating could be heard, somewhat muffled, “Darling, I’ve had a terrible day and I’m replenishing my energy. I’ll tell you when I get back.”
Henry squinted, seemingly assessing the environment on her end.
After a while, he chuckled and replied, “Take your time eating, I’ll have David come pick you up.”
Evelyn nodded almost without hesitation, providing her address, “Make sure he hurries, I’m so tired.”
“Alright, wait there,” Henry said before ending the call.
He then looked at David beside him and instructed, “Go ask if she’s been back today.”
David’s eyes widened, “Boss, are you suspecting madam of…”
Before he could finish, Alexander burst into laughter, “Henry, don’t joke with me like that.”
“Suspecting her of being V God?” He continued, laughing even more exaggeratedly.
Henry’s face darkened, but he remained silent.
David simply glanced at him before turning to head downstairs. After a short while, he returned.
“Boss, Eleanor said madam hasn’t returned since this morning.”
“Go pick her up,” Henry leaned back in his chair. His gaze was sharp and shrewd, as if considering the credibility of Eleanor’s words.
Meanwhile, Evelyn, standing in the street, took another bite of her cake before glancing down at the message from Eleanor.
[David did come to ask. I’ve told him exactly as you instructed.]
Evelyn felt fortunate that there was only Eleanor in the mansion today, which allowed her to avoid the crisis of being exposed.
Her current location wasn’t far from the mansion, and David arrived after twenty minutes.
As they headed back to the mansion, Alexander had already left. Eleanor had also gone back to rest, leaving only Henry sitting alone on the sofa.
Evelyn pushed open the door, looking weary. She walked over to Henry, shoulders slumped, and sank into his embrace.
“Darling, my shoulders ache, my hands ache, my feet ache, everywhere hurts.”
Henry, who had harbored suspicions moments ago, instantly forgot everything and nervously looked at her.
“Shall I call Frank to come take a look?”
“No,” Evelyn shook her head, “That guy would love to see me in trouble. I just had a really unlucky day.”
She retold the events of the day, omitting the part about the research institute and the gun, and excitedly recounted them to Henry.
Seeing his darkened expression, she quickly reached out and rubbed Henry’s face.
“Fortunately, I am a clever woman, or you would have lost me.”
Henry remained silent.
“Let’s go. Upstairs, take a shower, and sleep,” she said innocently, but Henry’s eyes gradually grew darker.
He lifted her up without a word. Evelyn, unaware of the danger, hummed a tune along the way, seeming more… alluring.
After taking a shower, Evelyn rolled around the big bed, and a large hand suddenly landed on her calf, squeezing it gently.
“Mm…” Henry’s hand seemed to possess magical powers, easing the muscles that had been in pain.
She closed her eyes and enjoyed the sensation. However, in her daze, she didn’t realize that this soothing massage was taking a different turn.
Evelyn’s body was abruptly turned over.
“Mm… darling,” her protest was instantly silenced by a rough kiss.
A cold shiver spread through her body and her eyes went wide open as the kiss came unexpectedly. Henry’s hands snaked into her pyjamas and cupped her breast.
His kiss was extremely aggressive, causing her to reciprocate to the kiss while his strong hand kneaded her breast.
He trailed down kisses from her lips, down to her neck and she tossed her chest forward while her head fell back to give him more access. She moaned and grasped his head and began to caress his hair while he nibbled on her neck.
“Ah…”. She gasped out as his wet tongue flicked her nipples, her eyes rolled as she fisted his hair.
“Ah… Henry… “. He began stroking her right nipple between his thumb while he suckled on her other nipple. She moaned in pleasure.
“Ohh gosh…”. She wanted to speak but she couldn’t as she couldn’t concentrate due to the pleasurable touch.
“Do you want me?”

At the research institute, Ryan had been in jail for over a dozen days, and Spencer had been avoiding showing.
Caleb’s experiment with the nutrient packets was also going smoothly.
One day, Harper was conducting the final experiment when a large hand suddenly grasped her.
“Ah!” Harper exclaimed in alarm, quickly backing away. When she saw Spencer’s face, her body trembled.
“What are you doing, Spencer?”
Spencer grinned at Harper, “Harper, don’t be so afraid. I just want to help you, you know?”
“Why are you always so cold to me?” he continued.
With that, he approached her, trapping Harper in a corner.
Harper could clearly smell the stench from his mouth, but she forced herself not to gag.
While everyone in the research department knew Spencer was domineering, only Harper knew that he was not only domineering but also disgustingly lecherous.
In the past, although he would often find reasons to harass her in the lab, he had never been so brazen as he was today.
Harper didn’t have the courage to throw sulfuric acid at him like Evelyn, she was terrified.
“Harper, why are you trembling? Could it be that you’re as excited as I am?” Spencer asked cheerfully.
“No, stop it. This is in the laboratory,” Harper yelled.
“What are you afraid of? It’s lunchtime now, and there’s only the two of us on this floor. As long as you keep your voice down, no one will…”
“Ah!” It was too disgusting.
Harper pushed him away, unable to bear the thought of that scene, and gagged into the trash can.
Her actions directly angered Spencer.
“How dare you reject me? Do you know my position in this research department?” he seethed.
“Didn’t you notice how bold I was this time? Do you want to know why?” he continued.
“Minister Caleb handed over the nutrient packet project to me. Do you understand how much importance the government attaches to this matter? As long as I submit the research results in a couple of days, I’ll be second only to Caleb in the research department. By then, whether someone stays or leaves, it’s all up to me.”
“Harper, it must have been tough for you to get into the research institute, right?”
Seeing Harper’s increasingly unpleasant expression, Spencer softened his tone, “Don’t worry, I like you so much, how could I bear to drive you away?”
“As long as you behave, not only can you stay, but in the research department, no one will dare to oppose you.”
These conditions were very tempting, but Harper didn’t want to succumb.
She turned around to run, but he grabbed her by the collar.
Spencer kissed Harper’s ear, causing her face to turn pale with fright.
“Harper, you’re even more fragrant than I imagined,” Spencer remarked with a grin.
Harper’s eyes filled with despair, the world around her seemed to turn dark. She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t see any light, and everything was cast in shadow. She was finished, completely finished, and no one could save her.
As Spencer began to undo her buttons, there was a creak from the doorway.
“Am I interrupting something?” Evelyn leaned against the doorframe, her gaze sharp like a dagger that could cut Spencer into pieces.
Hearing Evelyn’s misunderstanding, Harper quickly shook her head. Tears welled up in her eyes as she wanted to ask for help but dared not speak up.
Evelyn was her team leader, but Harper had never cooperated. What right did she have to ask for help?
Spencer had long forgotten about Ryan’s situation and now faced Evelyn with confidence.
“Anyone with eyes would know to stay away at this time. Do I need to remind you?” he retorted.
“Oh?” Evelyn feigned innocence, “Should I apologize to you?”
“No need, just get lost,” Spencer lost patience and waved her away. “Right now.”
Seeing this, Evelyn didn’t get angry. She simply turned around and left, appearing very cooperative.
Spencer thought Evelyn had received some inside information and knew she had to flatter him everywhere in the future, so she left in frustration. He began to lift Harper’s face with his hand.
“See that? Even she doesn’t dare to challenge me now. Do you still want to defy me?” Spencer sneered.
Harper’s face was already wet with tears.
She didn’t want anything to do with Spencer, this disgusting man, nor did she want to lose her job at the research institute.
Is there really no hope left?
Seeing the last glimmer of light fade from Harper’s eyes, Spencer knew it was time to act.
His hand was just about to touch Harper’s button when there was another bang from behind him. The glass door of the lab exploded.
Glass shards flew onto Spencer, leaving behind gruesome wounds.
Ignoring the pain, Spencer turned back in anger, “Who the hell interrupted me…”
Before he could finish his sentence, another kick landed on his neck.
Caught off guard, Spencer stumbled forward, falling flat on the ground.
As he struggled to turn his head, he saw Evelyn stepping closer, her foot mercilessly pressing down on his chest.
“Spencer, I’m such a kind person. Why do you always force me to beat you up?” Evelyn furrowed, looking distressed.
