Bruce looked at Evelyn and quickly begged for mercy, “Boss, it was my mistake. I failed to recognize you earlier. Please, forgive me this time. I promise I won’t appear in front of you again.”
Seeing Bruce admitting his fault, the boss and the blond-haired guy also knelt down behind Bruce.
“We know we were wrong. You’re a big shot. Forgive us this time, please.”
Evelyn smiled, “Originally, I wasn’t planning to deal with you. But my mood doesn’t seem to be too good right now.”
“You know, having annoying people constantly in front of you can be quite irritating, don’t you?”
She hinted, glancing towards Tessa.
The blond-haired guy was taken aback.
Seeing this, the boss kicked him angrily and rebuked, “What are you dawdling for? Hurry up and help this young lady resolve the trouble.”
The blond-haired guy immediately nodded, walked forward, and slapped Tessa.
Caught off guard, Tessa fell to the ground. She covered her face, wearing a look of disbelief.
“What are you doing?” She couldn’t help but scream, “I’m the one who paid you. One million, no, I can offer you three million. Three million, how about that? Help me kill that bitch.”
Three million was indeed a substantial amount for them. But what was the point of earning money if they risked their lives?
“Are you fucking trying to get me killed?” The blond-haired guy roared and gave Tessa another hard slap. The force was so great that it knocked her out.
He kicked her to make sure Tessa showed no signs of response, “Boss, this person can’t handle a beating, she’s already unconscious.”
Evelyn glanced at them and whispered, “Throw her out.”
Then she turned back to face the bar’s owner.
The owner’s hand was still bleeding, but as soon as he saw Evelyn’s eyes, he obediently grabbed a pen, swiftly signed the transfer contract, and stamped it.
Evelyn put away the contract, then stood up, saying, “Let’s go, to the next one.”
With an extremely bloody start, the acquisition of the next dozen bars went incredibly smoothly for Evelyn.
So that at the end of the day, the entire bar street was buzzing with her deeds.

The Wilson Group Building.
David wore a gloomy expression as he shook his head secretly outside Henry’s office.
Madam just went out and did such a major thing. If boss found out that Madam got into a fight and violently snatched someone’s bars, would he rush back to lock her up?
David felt he might suffer along with her.
After lingering outside the door for a while, David finally pushed open the door.
“What’s the matter?” Henry looked up from a stack of files.
“It’s Madam. She…” David gritted his teeth and reported the incident to Henry.
“Boss, please don’t be angry. Madam has already returned to the mansion, and she is not injured.”
Henry remained silent.
After a while, he put down his pen, “Investigate the responsible persons of those bars. Also, have someone handle the accounts and the mess.”
David instinctively nodded. “Um… yes.”
When he turned to leave, he suddenly realized something was off.
What’s going on? Boss didn’t get angry, and he even asked him to clean up the mess for Madam?
David hadn’t fully recovered from his surprise when he saw his boss silently taking out his phone, opening an app that shouldn’t even be on his phone, carefully selecting a few items, and ordering a small cake.
David: “…”
For Madam, boss even learned to use a food delivery app?
Was this still the boss he knew?
At this moment, Henry, having completed all his tasks, slowly raised his head, “Do you have anything else want to say?”
“Nothing, nothing…” David quickly regained his composure and exited the office.

After returning to the mansion, Evelyn began to indulge herself. She grabbed a bag of snacks and lazily sprawled on the sofa. The TV was playing the latest idol drama. Perhaps in a good mood, she watched it attentively, so much so that she didn’t even notice Henry coming back.
The air was filled with a sweet aroma.
“So sweet.”
“Eleanor, did you make a cake?” She struggled to get up, ready to the kitchen, but her waist was grabbed by a pair of large hands.
“Where are you going?” Henry’s magnetic voice echoed in her ear.
The small cake had been opened at some point. As Henry sat down, he discreetly dabbed cream on Evelyn’s nose and lips.
“Um…” Evelyn turned her head, “My grandma said, don’t waste food. Cakes are meant to be eaten, not played with.”
Henry looked at her serious expression and obediently responded, “Okay, you’re right.”
“Admitting mistakes and making improvements is the greatest virtue. Considering your sincerity, I forgive you for now.”
“Thank you for your generosity.” Suddenly, Henry leaned down, getting close to Evelyn’s lips, “These should not be wasted either.”
He suddenly lowered his head, imprinting his lips on Evelyn’s nose and the corners of her mouth. After cleaning off the cream, his lips lingered on hers.
Evelyn felt her whole body heating up, and her cheeks turned red.
“Darling, you… you…”
Before she could finish her sentence, a frantic knocking on the door interrupted her.
Observing Henry’s visibly displeased mood, Evelyn chuckled, “Honey, Eleanor is in the kitchen, and the other servants are off today. Go and answer the door.”
Evelyn shrugged with a mischievous expression, “If you want to blame someone, blame the one knocking on the door.”
Henry stood up, gazing at Evelyn with eyes filled with resentment. After hesitating for a moment, he walked towards the door.
At this moment, Alexander, standing outside the door, was about to knock harder when the door suddenly opened.
Meeting Henry’s gaze, Alexander shrank back, “Uh… Henry, you’re here.” He silently flipped through his cell phone’s call log and explained in a whisper, “I called you and you didn’t answer.”
“If there’s nothing else, you can leave.”
Seeing Henry about to close the door, Alexander stepped forward, squeezing half of his body inside, “I have something urgent. Let me in first.”
Henry hesitated for a moment but eventually let go.
Alexander, who applied too much force, took a couple of steps forward. Just as he was about to regain his balance, he seemed to be kicked by someone and landed on the ground in a rather ungraceful posture.
Seeing him, Evelyn, who was nibbling on a small cake, paused, “Why are you coming here at this time?”
She remembered that in her previous life, Alexander had married a woman with the last name Thompson, which should be Tessa. In this life, Sophia reappeared in Alexander’s life because of her, and Evelyn wasn’t sure if Alexander would still marry Tessa.
If he did, she and Alexander would be on opposite sides, and there was no need for any extra cordiality.
Alexander, feeling guilty under Evelyn’s scrutinizing gaze, quietly sat down in the furthest spot from her.
“I don’t think I’ve offended you, have I?”
Evelyn clearly disagreed with his statement. Besides Tessa’s matters, allowing Henry to kiss the ‘masked woman’ last time was enough that she wanted to choke him.
“I apologize if I unintentionally offended you. I’ll come to make amends another day. Now, could you please tell me where Sophia is?”
Evelyn gave him a disdainful look, “No comment.”
“You have to save me. If I can’t find Sophia, my parents will kill me.”
Listening to his words, Evelyn’s expression darkened even more, “So, you’re searching for Sophia because of your parents’ orders?”
“No, I…” Alexander was about to explain but was cut off by Evelyn’s stern words.
“Alexander, a woman carrying your child for four months without terminating the pregnancy indicates her willingness to bear your child. And how have you responded?”
“Do you understand what it’s like to be pregnant for ten months? Do you know the feeling of morning sickness? Do you realize the pain of childbirth?”
“Alexander, you should know Sophia’s personality, right?”
Sophia had considered everything that Evelyn could think of. Yet, even so, she accepted it all.
“I’m sorry,” Alexander said apologetically.
Evelyn turned her head, not wanting to look at him anymore, “The one you should apologize to isn’t me.”
“Henry, throw him out.”
Alexander didn’t have time to react before he was dragged out of the villa. He sat on the ground, looking forlornly at the closed door.
He just wanted to know where Sophia was.
Henry walked back to Evelyn and hesitated for a moment before saying, “You haven’t eaten the cake.”
“The cake isn’t sweet at all,” Evelyn replied, keeping her head down.
Henry turned her around, and a tear dropped onto his fingertips… His hand moved to Evelyn’s head, gently soothing her.
Evelyn nestled into his arms. “Henry, no woman can bear to give up her child.”
It wasn’t clear if she was talking about Sophia or herself from the previous life. Back then, even though she didn’t know she liked Henry, even though she cared about William’s dissatisfaction, she never thought of giving up that child.
Unfortunately…
