“Mr. Connor is seeking an investment of eight hundred thousand, and YR Company can offer you one million and five hundred thousand.”
“One million and five hundred thousand!” Connor’s expression briefly lost control, “But…” He looked somewhat troubled, glancing at Jasper.
Mia bit her lip, “Evelyn, even though you’ve always liked to compete with me since childhood, I don’t think YR Company’s financial situation allows you to come up with so much money. Don’t act impulsively, so you won’t harm innocent people.”
Connor frowned upon hearing this.
“Mia,” Evelyn’s gaze darkened, “Are you YR Company’s accountant, or did you plant a spy in YR Company? How come you know the financial situation so well?”
“I… it was Jasper who found out,” Mia explained.
“And what does that matter?” Evelyn took out a bank card, “I can invest personally. Mr. Connor, if you don’t believe it, I can transfer the full amount to you directly.”
Connor became increasingly tempted.
Seeing he was about to agree, Mia anxiously raised the bid, “One million six hundred thousand.”
Evelyn countered, “Two million.”
“Three million.” Mia gritted her teeth. She consulted an advanced investment advisor, estimating the profitability of Connor’s project. Three million, although not making a profit, wouldn’t result in a loss. As long as she could beat Evelyn, she didn’t mind.
Jasper frowned slightly upon seeing this.
Obviously, if Evelyn raised the bid again, he wouldn’t add more.
Evelyn was adept at reading the room. She shrugged and said, “Since you’re so eager, I’ll let you have it.”
Mia, with a joyful expression, signed the contract in front of Evelyn. However, before Mia could put away her pen, Evelyn turned to Connor with a smiling expression.
“Congratulations, Mr. Connor. Your project has fetched a good price. No need to thank me too much!”
Connor stood there in astonishment.
Mia’s face turned extremely ugly.
This cunning woman dared to play her like this!
At this moment, Glen approached with his proposal, turning to Jasper.
“Mr. Reid, would you consider the ‘Glory’ project? Give me three million, and I’ll only ask for one percent of the shares.”
Jasper, a loyal fan of ‘Glory’ ten years ago, had looked into Glen’s proposal before attending the investment event. Three million was nothing for The Reid family, so he was willing to entertain the idea. Just as he was about to speak, Mia interrupted, “Mr. Glen, our company has run out of funds for project investments. Why don’t you ask Miss Taylor here? She seems very interested in your project.”
Although Glen had already guessed that The Reid family wouldn’t be interested in his small project, he still looked disappointed. He glanced at Evelyn, not harboring much hope.
Within just half an hour, he had approached fifty-two people. Those people even refused to look at his proposal.
Seeing Evelyn genuinely considering it, Mia felt an immense sense of joy.
The advanced investment advisor had mentioned that the ‘Glory’ project topped the list of losses on the investment event. As long as Evelyn invested in “Glory,” YR Company would be completely finished.
Hesitating for a moment, Glen turned to Evelyn.
However, before he could speak, Zane shook his head, “Evelyn, even I know about this project. Investing in it is a sure way to lose money.”
Yancy nodded in agreement, “Boss, if we move another three million out of the company’s funds, all the employees will be unemployed.”
Glen tightened his grip on the proposal, and his eyes completely dimmed. In that moment, his back slightly bent, and his shoulders slumped. There was no glimmer of hope for Evelyn to see on him.
“Heh.” Evelyn chuckled softly. “I already said earlier, I will personally invest in it.”
“Mr. Glen, I can leave you with ten percent of the shares,” Evelyn said.
Glen’s hands trembled, “Miss Taylor, are you really willing to invest in the ‘Glory’ project?”
Ten percent of the shares were his ideal expectation.
Considering for a moment, Glen conceded in a low voice, “If it’s inconvenient, I can settle for an investment of only two million.”
Evelyn shook her head. Two million would be far from enough to lift ‘Glory’.
This headshake inadvertently made Glen feel a chill. However, finding someone willing to invest, he accepted it. He bit his lip, preparing to lower the investment further when a new card appeared in front of him.
“Here is five million. And I will continue to add funds,” Evelyn whispered, “You just need to focus on improving the user experience and freshness of ‘Glory.'”
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone was astonished.
People nearby couldn’t help but start whispering.
“Is this woman foolish, or does she have a mental problem? Investing five million in a clearly losing project?”
“She must be really foolish. Didn’t you hear her say she would add more funds later?”
