Chapter 184 Noah’s Place?

Listening to the derogatory remarks about Evelyn, the two bodyguards who had followed her into the underground market couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. However, aware of Noah’s dislike for Evelyn, they exchanged a glance and chose to remain silent.
At that moment, the door suddenly swung open, revealing Henry and Evelyn standing at the entrance. The stark contrast between Henry’s gloomy expression and the sweet smile on the girl’s lips was striking.
“What a coincidence, not a single one missing,” Evelyn said indifferently, scanning the bodyguards in the room, inexplicably making a statement.
The bodyguards were unsure if Evelyn had heard the previous conversation and couldn’t help but nervously lower their heads.
Noah stood up, asked Henry, “Aren’t you busy with projects recently? How come you have time to come here?”
“Just bored.”
Anyone could feel bored, but Henry, who had been serious since childhood, never knew what boredom was. Looking at the hands held together by the two, disdain flashed in his eyes.
A woman who could be scared in an underground trading market dared to come to his training ground? Ridiculous.
“The East Zone…” Henry was about to speak as he looked at the divided training ground, but Noah stopped him.
“The East Zone is closed,” Noah said without looking at Henry, “Henry, do you plan to keep her in a greenhouse for the rest of her life?”
Henry’s eyes darkened, suddenly remembering the still-healing wound on his ribs. If possible, he would prefer to provide a greenhouse for the girl, ensuring she lived a worry-free life forever. But what if he couldn’t live that long? His girl must have the ability to lead ‘Shadowguard’ or other forces…
Evelyn had never been to this training ground in her previous life but had heard about the distinction between the East and West Zones. The East Zone was for amusement, while the West Zone was specifically set up by Noah for live-fire exercises.
Evelyn suddenly grabbed Henry’s arm, “The equipment in the East Zone is too ordinary, not fun at all. Let’s go check out the West Zone first, okay?”
At her words, the last hint of hesitation in Henry’s eyes disappeared. He nodded, “Lead the way.”
Noah sneered and walked ahead. The two followed.
The West Zone’s training ground was quite large, and Evelyn’s attention was immediately drawn to the nearby horse arena as soon as she entered.
What she didn’t expect was that they could have horse racing indoors.
“Do you want to try?” Henry noticed her gaze, asking softly while already choosing a horse for Evelyn in the stable.
In her previous life, Evelyn never missed any opportunity to indulge in recreational activities, and horse racing was definitely within her realm of interest. She rubbed her hands together, feeling a bit tempted.
In the eyes of the bodyguards, however, her posture seemed like hesitance, and they couldn’t help but disdain this woman even more.
Noah’s expression darkened as he found it even more incomprehensible that Henry had actually married such an inept woman.
“I’ll wait for you at the finish line.” With that, Noah directly led a horse and galloped towards the nearby racetrack. This statement was clearly directed at Henry.
But what about Evelyn? Left stranded here?
Clearly, that was Noah’s intention.
Evelyn’s fighting spirit was instantly ignited. She immediately mounted the horse Henry had selected for her and raced towards the direction of the finish line.
Though not wearing riding attire, she still exuded a sense of elegance and confidence. The rosy lips, sparkling eyes, and flying hair…
Henry admired Evelyn, completely oblivious to the red mark on the neck of the horse he had chosen.
“Is that… a newly arrived horse?” One of the bodyguards exclaimed.
“Oh no, that horse hasn’t been trained yet. Being ridden forcibly might easily frighten it.”
Hearing this, Henry quickly selected another horse and and began chasing them.
Halfway through the race, Noah, listening to the sound of approaching hooves, curled his lips. “Henry, after all this time, your speed is still impressive.”
Despite Noah starting first, he was quickly caught up by Henry.
“Heh!” Evelyn sneered, “You’re just too slow.”
Noah realized it was her and turned abruptly. In an instant, Evelyn’s horse passed by him.
Seeing the shock and clear defeat on Noah’s face, Evelyn felt an indescribable satisfaction.
Noah caught the sight of mockery in Evelyn’s eyes, gritted his teeth, and immediately increased his speed.
The horses raced faster and faster, with neither giving in.
Just as Evelyn was about to reach the finish line, the front hooves of the horse she was riding suddenly lifted uncontrollably.
The group of bodyguards immediately exclaimed, “Oh no! The horse is startled!”
Henry swiftly whipped the reins, pushing the horse to its limits.
Noah frowned and increased his speed as well. However, a frightened horse couldn’t be measured by normal speed.
