Offering the computer to Evelyn, the screen displayed a edited video.
“No need,” Evelyn waved her hand.
Then, to Luke’s astonishment, she quickly accessed the code and made a series of modifications. After hitting ‘Enter’, the video’s duration increased by thirty minutes and nineteen seconds.
“It’s restored!” Luke couldn’t believe his eyes. Even the technicians from the research institute would take almost two hours, yet the director achieved it in less than three minutes.
It was like a miracle.
Luke, who held a decent position at the research institute, was initially dissatisfied with being assigned to work with Evelyn. Even though Gavin emphasized Evelyn’s capabilities, Luke doubted. But now, he truly admired her.
Evelyn’s eyes were fixed on the edited part of the video.
Soon, she saw a familiar face – Mia!
Her unreliable cousin blushed and looked awkward the moment Mia appeared. He readily accepted the drink from Colin, and in no time, he collapsed on the sofa.
Mia took Zane’s phone, returned it shortly after. If Evelyn remembered correctly, that phone contained several important design sketches by Zane…
After witnessing this scene, Luke inquired, “Director, should we report this to the police?”
“No need,” Evelyn replied. A short, unclear video could only prove that Mia touched the phone, it couldn’t serve as evidence that she stole the designed sketches.
Evelyn had never known that Zane had such feelings for Mia. If it was the same in her previous life, could Mia have been the one who drove her uncle’s family to a dead end?
Luke also caught on and didn’t press further on this topic. Instead, he brought out an invitation.
“The Fashion Creating Awards invited us to participate in the game innovation competition. Are you interested?” After a pause, he added, “Mia’s company will also be participating.”
The Fashion Creating Awards was a relatively new award that had gained much attention in recent years. Despite its strict and firm judging criteria, it had won a loyal fanbase and had a significant impact on the gaming industry.
Stealing Zane’s design to participate in the Fashion Creating Awards? Evelyn would never let Mia have her way.
“We’re not only going, but we’re also going to use this project to compete,” Evelyn declared.
Luke, realizing the potential clash of designs from two companies, hesitated for a moment. However, when he met Evelyn’s determined gaze, he regained confidence. He found a brief introduction to the current game, filled out the Fashion Creating Awards registration form, and submitted it.
When Mia received the news, she was sitting in the office, painting her nails. Across from her, a man was checking a few design sketches – Keith, who had been dismissed by Evelyn a few days ago.
“Unexpectedly, Zane still has some tricks up his sleeve,” Keith chuckled, “But what does that matter? It’s all ours now.”
In a cold tone, Mia asked, “Do you have confidence in crushing Evelyn?”
“Crushing her doesn’t require any effort from me,” Keith’s eyes were filled with malice. “Colin left people for her who can’t conduct normal game development. With only one month left, if she wants to complete the task, she has to abandon the high-difficulty levels.”
However, what’s the difference between a game without high difficulty levels and one that has lost its soul?
“So this time, they are destined to fail. If we add the accusation of plagiarism, Evelyn’s career will undoubtedly suffer a severe blow, with no chance of recovery.”
A spark of excitement flashed in Mia’s cold eyes.

The Fashion Creating Awards competition was scheduled in the downtown tech building. On the day of the competition, Mia deliberately waited at the entrance. When she saw Evelyn, she approached with a triumphant smile.
Without Yulianna and Layla present, there was no need for pretense. “Didn’t expect you would dare to participate in such a competition. Aren’t you afraid of crying when you lose?”
Evelyn glanced at her coldly, not dignifying her with a response. She just looked at Luke beside her and sarcastically remarked, “The Fashion Creating Awards still have room for improvement. How come anyone can just join the competition?”
There was not a single word mentioning Mia in her statement, but it struck Mia like a slap in the face.
Mia pointed at Evelyn with an unpleasant expression, but before the words choked in her throat could come out, Layla and Yulianna approached.
An artificial smile immediately appeared on Mia’s face.
Yulianna hadn’t forgotten the threat Evelyn posed last time. “You seem to be everywhere. Truly hard to get rid of.”
“Do you know where this is? The Fashion Creating Awards competition site. Mia pleaded with the Fashion Creating Awards editor for a long time to get this opportunity. Who do you think you are? You think you can just come in casually.”
