Chapter 21: Blossoming Romance

Book:Her Mate Is The Playboy Professor Published:2024-6-4

Bella’s POV
I glanced at my wristwatch as the lecturer explained some topics. This was my last class for the day, and I was already getting tired. Glancing at my wristwatch, I realised that the time was almost six o’clock. The class should have ended thirty minutes ago, but this particular lecturer loved using extra hours and it was fucking frustrating.
I groaned in frustration as I returned my gaze to the professor who didn’t seem bothered by the angry and tired gazes of everyone in the lecture hall. Most of the people in the lecture hall were already tried, while others were angry and frustrated.
“That’ll be all for today,” the lecturer said as he finally ended the lecture.
“Thank goodness.” I muttered and let out a sigh of relief. I rose to my feet and began arranging my books inside my bag.
Sandra also rose to her feet, and she also begin to arrange her books inside her bag. She had an earpiece plugged in her ears, and she was listening to music. We hadn’t said a word to each other ever since the incident that occurred in professor Blake’s office earlier in the morning.
“Hey, Sandra,” I called her but she gave me no response.
“Sandra,” I tapped her, and she glanced at me before removing here earpiece from her ears.
“Yes?” She raised a questioning brow at me.
“Do you remember the party I told you about?” I asked, and she furrowed her brows in confusion.
“Which party?” She inquired.
“The party that professor Blake invited me to.” I replied.
“Yeah, I remember. What about it?” Sandra asked.
“Ummm… I was thinking we should go do some shopping this evening since the party will hold tomorrow evening.” I said, hoping she’d agree to come with me for shopping.
“I’d have love to follow you to do some… shopping, but I have other important things to do now, so I’m sorry, I won’t able to go with you.” Sandra replied, and she picked her fashion bag from the desk.
“Come on, Sandra. Going shopping without you is gonna be boring.” I said, trying to convince her to go shopping with me.
“I’m sorry, Bella, but I won’t be able to go with you.” Sandra replied, and she tried to walk away, but I held her hand.
“Sandra, are you still angry about what happened in professor Blake’s office in the morning?” I asked, and Sandra turned her face to me.
“Bella, I am not angry about anything. I just have lot of important things to do, so I won’t be able to follow you.” Sandra replied, and she released her hand from my grip before walking away.
I needed no one to tell me that Sandra was still angry about what happened in the morning. On a normal day, Sandra would have easily agreed to go shopping with me because shopping was one of her hobbies. But now that she disagreed to go shopping with me, I knew she was still angry at me.
Exiting the lecture hall, I stepped into the fading daylight, surrounded by the hustle of students scattering in different directions. My mind weighed with the unresolved tension with Sandra, creating a subtle heaviness in my steps.
Making my way to the parking lot, I noticed Professor Blake unlocking his car, bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun. Seizing the moment, I called out, “Professor Blake!”
He turned with a friendly smile, “Ah, Bella! What can I do for you?”
Approaching him, I greeted with a nod, “Just wrapped up the lecture. Are you heading home?”
Professor Blake nodded, “Yes, indeed. What about you? Any exciting plans?”
A small smile formed on my lips, “Actually, thinking of doing some shopping this evening.”
He raised an intrigued eyebrow, “Shopping, eh? Well, that sounds delightful. Need a ride?”
After a moment’s thought, I accepted with a grateful nod, “That would be wonderful, Professor. Thanks!”
We strolled toward his car, a comfortable camaraderie settling between us. I gracefully took the passenger seat as Professor Blake settled into the driver’s seat. The engine purred to life, and we set off on our journey.
“So, what’s on your shopping list?” Professor Blake inquired, a friendly glint in his eyes.
“Just a few things for your upcoming party,” I replied with a smile.
As we navigated through traffic, Professor Blake continued, “So, what time will you arrive for the party tomorrow?”
“Ummm… I’m not yet sure, but I’ll surely come.” I replied with my gaze fixed on his face.
“Alright,” he nodded, and then cleared his throat. “Are you coming with your friend… ummm… Sandra?”
I remained silent for a while, wondering why he asked that question, then I replied, “I haven’t told her about it, yet, but I will when I get back to our dormitory.”
“Alright.” Professor Blake said before returning his gaze back to the road.
I stared at him for a while before turning my head sideways to look out the window. The car became silent as professor Blake continued driving to the shopping mall. Throughout the drive, we said nothing to each other. The car was silent as fuck and I kinda hated it.
Upon reaching our destination, Professor Blake smoothly parked the car. I turned to him with a smile and said, “Thanks for the ride, professor Blake. I… really appreciate it.”
“No problem,” he replied with a smile.
The atmosphere became very awkward as we stared at each other in silence. I shifted my eyes to his lips, and I felt the urge to kiss him. I began leaning in and I shut my eyes as I placed my lips on his, then I began kissing him slowly and passionately.
I almost broke the kiss when he didn’t reciprocate the kiss, but I changed my mind when he deepened the kiss. I wrapped my arms around the neck and continued kissing him hungrily.
The kiss kept going, like a romantic dance that seemed to last forever. Our lips moved together, saying things that words couldn’t express. The car’s gentle hum and the distant sounds formed a background melody, wrapping us in a bubble of romance.
After five minutes, we slowly pulled away, both breathing heavily but in sync. Our eyes met, showing a mix of passion and surprise. Professor Blake’s fingers traced my cheek, silently acknowledging the deep moment we had just shared. As the reality of the lingering closeness settled, a shy smile appeared on my face.
Professor Blake, sensing the shift, broke the silence with a soft murmur, “That was unexpected but beautiful.”
I nodded, my gaze briefly lowered as shyness washed over me. The car, once a place for casual talks, now held the echoes of an unspoken truth that bound us together.
Lightening the mood, Professor Blake playfully asked, “Mind if I join you for some shopping? Seems like I need a few things too.”
A gentle smile formed on my lips as I replied, “Not necessary, but you’re more than welcome if you want to.”
Together, we stepped out of the car, entering the lively atmosphere of the shopping mall. Side by side, we ventured through the vibrant aisles. I led him to the dress section to select an outfit for tomorrow’s party. I gazed at the array of beautiful dresses.
“Which one should I choose?” I asked professor Blake who stood beside me.
“Ummm…” Professor Blake rubbed his chin as if he was thinking, then he pointed at a black gown which was decorated with diamond stones. “This looks really beautiful, and it will fit you perfectly.”
I picked the dress with a smile, but my smile vanished when I saw the price tag on the dress. Professor Blake seemed to notice the change in my expression and he stepped closer to me.
“What’s wrong? Don’t you like the dress?” Professor Blake asked.
“The dress is beautiful, but it’s… expensive.” I replied, and showed him the price tag on the dress.
He checked the price, and he smiled, “Do you like the dress?” He asked.
“Yeah, I love it, but it’s expensive.” I replied.
“Don’t worry about the price. I’ve got it covered.” He said, and my eyes widened in surprise.
“Seriously?” I asked with a surprised expression on my face.
“Yep,” he nodded with a smile. “Also pick any other dress of your choice. You can pick as many as you like.”
“Are you for real?” I asked in order to confirm whether I heard him correctly or not.
“Yeah.” He answered, maintaining his handsome smile.
I couldn’t help but blush as I began selecting some dresses. I found it hard to believe that this was happening. I had been dreaming of a moment like this; a moment when my mate would take me out for shopping and buy me stuffs. It felt so romantic that I blushed really hard as I continued selecting the dresses I found beautiful.
After selecting five dresses, I turned around to face professor Blake with a smile on my face.
“Are you done?” He asked with a smile.
“Yeah,” I nodded, reciprocating the smile.
“But there are still lots of dresses that’ll look really beautiful on you.” Professor Blake said.
“I know, but the dresses here are really expensiv, and I didn’t plan to buy more than five dresses.” I replied.
“Like I said earlier, Bella, you can pick as many dresses as you want, I’ll pay for them.”
“Shhh…” professor Blake hushed and placed a finger on my lips as I tried to decline. “You are my mate, Bella, and I have every right to buy you anything you want. So, pick more dresses if you want. You can also select some shoes if you want.”
“Thanks, professor.” I said and lowered my head as my cheeks turned red.
I quickly turned around and began selecting more dresses without checking the price tags. I continued blushing as I recalled the way professor Blake called me his mate. The way he said it was just too romantic, and I just couldn’t stop blushing.
After selecting enough dresses, I stopped and decided to select some high-heels. Walking to the heels section, I was awed by the beauty of the heels I saw. They were of different sizes, shapes, colours and designs.
As I explored the heels section, captivated by the variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and designs, Professor Blake followed along, his presence casting a warm glow over the whole shopping experience.
“These are stunning,” I exclaimed, running my fingers over the elegant heels displayed before me.
Professor Blake, wearing a fond smile, responded, “Pick whatever you like. It’s my treat.”
Feeling a mixture of excitement and gratitude, I selected a few pairs that caught my eye. The thought of having someone willing to indulge my preferences felt surreal and wonderfully romantic.
After finalizing my choices, I turned to Professor Blake with a grateful smile. “Thank you so much for all this. It means a lot to me.”
He returned the smile, his eyes reflecting a genuine pleasure in making this unexpected shopping spree a special experience. “You deserve it, Bella. Now, let’s head to the checkout, and we can grab a bite to eat afterward.”
We strolled towards the checkout counter, our arms lightly brushing against each other. The air was filled with a comfortable silence, punctuated by the soft rustle of shopping bags.
At the counter, Professor Blake effortlessly handled the transactions, taking care of the purchases. Once we completed our shopping spree, we stepped out of the mall, each of us holding shopping bags, and headed towards Professor Blake’s car.
Settling into the passenger seat, I fastened my seatbelt and stole a glance at Professor Blake, who was comfortably behind the wheel.
“Which restaurant should we go to for dinner?” he inquired, starting the car.
“I’m okay with any restaurant,” I replied, offering a smile.
“Alright, then. I have the perfect restaurant in mind,” Professor Blake announced, initiating the car and smoothly driving away.
As we journeyed towards the chosen restaurant, I couldn’t help but gaze at Professor Blake with admiration. Lost in thought, I found myself appreciating not just the unexpected shopping spree but also the company of someone who had turned an ordinary day into an extraordinary adventure. At that moment, I felt really lucky to have a mate as charming and generous as professor Blake.
