Chapter 15

Book:My Alpha My Enemy Published:2024-5-1

After my father drove us to the house, he parked outside the lawn and we both stepped out and walked inside.

I took a quick shower while my Dad did the same. I went through my wardrobe and searched for something simple to wear. I fetched out a black leggings and a cardigan that oversized my body. After where I’ve been, I suddenly feel so cold.

I threw the clothes on and started walking towards my dresser table to get a rubber band as I started to pack my hair into a high messy bun on my head.

Just then, my eyes caught sight of Adam. He’s standing at his opened window, his eyes watching me. He was probably waiting for me to see him cause the moment my eyes met his, he smiled and waved a hand at me. I quickly smiled and waved back.

I remembered we were supposed to go out yesterday, Sunday and looking at him now, I didn’t know what to say. Not that I could say much from here.
He stopped waving, his smile unchanged before retreating back into his room.

I walked back, after making sure my hair was in a bun above my head, I wore my slippers and hurried out into the kitchen to make breakfast. I spent thirty minutes making scrambled eggs with some fries and Dad’s herbal tea. I made jasmine tea for myself.

After he got ready for work, Dad had a brief breakfast with me before driving out. After seeing him off, I walked back in and heard my phone make a dinging sound on my hoodie’s pocket. I picked it to see a header message from Millie.

Millie: hey girlfriend! Will be there in two hours! See you!

I smiled and put out my screen light while attempting to push it inside my pocket again but stopped when I got another message. This time it wasn’t from Millie or anyone I knew cause the number was unsaved.

I opened it and it read : Beautiful morning, beautiful. This is Adam. Just wanted to let you know that I was struck hard when I saw you from my window. Regardless of my hurt for ditching me yesterday.

My smile vanished after reading the last line. I started to type a reply but didn’t know what to say.

Then I decided to just apologise.

Me: I’m sorry, I couldn’t tell you yesterday. I left town with Dad.

Immediately, he replied: That’s okay. Do you agree that someone with a leg sprain should walk instantly after getting the injury?

I smiled, knowing exactly where he was going.

I replied : well. . . . . From my field, I wouldn’t advice that immediately after getting it treated.

Him: well I’ve got a leg sprain. Would you mind coming over? I promise I don’t bite.

I found myself bitting hard on my lip to stop me from smiling. Then I made a quick thinking.
Visit him? Wouldn’t hurt a thing. Besides, Millie won’t be here until the next two hours. I’ll just check on him and be right back.

So I replied: okay. I’ll be there now.

I hurried into my room, careful not to go near the window so he doesn’t see me and whipped my face with a napkin, then put some hair oil in my hands and smoothened my falling hairs back up. I applied a little pink lipgloss in a very hard-to-notice way before contently walking out again.

With my hands tucked into my hoodie pockets due to the cold, I crossed the road over to his lawn and took the path to his footsteps. I pushed the door button and waited for him to walk out.

After a while, the door lock clicks and opens to reveal a light cappuccino complexioned slim girl. She’s tall with long curly coffee brown hair that she made into a high ponytail, her face resembling that of Adam’s in a feminine way, her lips a mixture of pink and dark brown. She looks like she was twelve to fifteen years old. I could put up this judgement due to the small sizes of her boobs but on another base, I could say she was older than that due to the wide size of her hips. But her face gave it out that she was nothing but a kid.

“Hello” I said with my biggest smile.

“Hi”

“Is Adam home?” I asked.

“Yes I am, Lexy” Adam replies as he appeared behind her. My eyes quickly moved from her to him, to see the smile he gave me.

“She’s your friend?” The girl questions him.

“Yes, Lizzy, she is” Adam replied, before pulling the door open and telling me to come in.

Lizzy steps away to allow me walk in. I walked into their sitting room and waited to Adam to walk back in. I noticed the large family painting abouve their TV. I could see the image of his parents and two boys, the older one looking like Adam but definitely not him because I could see Adam standing right next to him. He must be an older brother or something. Then there’s a baby girl on their mother’s arm. That’s definitely Lizzy.

“Are you our neighbor?” Lizzy asks as she appeared in front of me.

“Don’t question her, Lizzy” Adam grunted as he walked to us too.

“Yes, Lizzy, you know me?” I replied anyway.

“Yes. Adam looks at you alot from his window and he tells us you’re a doctor”

I found myself laughing voicelessly at her words, turning to look at Adam who seemed upset or so cause he was glaring at Lizzy.

“And if you don’t shut up, she’s going to pull your liver out with her hands”

Lizzy gasps and I laughed.

“Don’t worry, Lizzy, I’m not a bad doctor. I’m the good one, okay?”

She nods before walking away to sit on the couch.

I looked back at Adam who just stood there, his eyes fixed on me.

“Nice house” I complimented.

“Thanks. Come on” he beckons towards the stairs before turning around and walking up. I saw how he limped as he went. Looks like he wasn’t lying about his leg.

I followed him to his bedroom.
