Blake’s p. o. v
Emily got up and made her way to the front of the class. On her way she picks up a guitar and goes over to the microphone. She looked around the class and then finally talked into the microphone. “I will be singing the song ‘White horse’ by Taylor Swift”
She started playing the guitar and when she started singing, the whole class was gobsmacked by her angelic voice.
“Say you’re sorry
That face of an angel
Comes out just when you need it to
As I paced back and forth all this time
Cause I honestly believed in you
Holding on
The days drag on
Stupid girl,
I should have known, I should have known
That I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain’t Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it’s too late for you
And your white horse, to come around
Maybe I was naive,
Got lost in your eyes
And never really had a chance
My mistake I didn’t know to be in love
You had to fight to have the upper hand
I had so many dreams
About you and me
Happy endings
Now I know
I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairy tale
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain’t Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it’s too late for you
And your white horse, to come around
And there you are on your knees,
Begging for forgiveness, begging for me
Just like I always wanted but I’m so sorry
‘Cause I’m not your princess, this ain’t a fairytale
I’m gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well
This is a big world, that was a small town
There in my rear view mirror disappearing now
And its too late for you and your white horse
Now its too late for you and your white horse, to catch me now
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Try and catch me now
Oh, it’s too late
To catch me now”
By the time she was finished the room was dead silent. Then the class erupted it to applause and cheers. She thanked us, put the guitar back and went to her seat again.
I got one of our tech guys in the gang to put me in all of Emily’s classes with Alex and made sure at least one of the other boys from our group was in some of her classes as well so they all have at least one class with their ‘Boss Lady’
The teacher walked to the front of the class and cleared her throat, snapping me out of my thoughts.
“That was a lovely performance, thank you Emily. Today we will be focusing on our vocals so we are going to be doing a bit of karaoke. You will tell me what song you want to sing and I will play the instrumental version threw the speakers so you can sing along. But that is not all. You need to sing a song that you can relate to the most at this point in your life. Sarah your first tell me what song you want to sing and then go up to the microphone.”‘

After about 6 people had gone it was Blake’s turn. He whispered something to the teacher and she just nodded her head. I wonder what that was about. Then the teacher called Alex up and gave him a spare microphone. So that is what it was, they wanted to sing their song together. I was shocked though when Blake started singing ‘Nice to meet ya’ by Niall Horan
“I like the way you talk, I like the things you wear
I want your number tattooed on my arm in ink, I swear
‘Cause when the morning comes, I know you won’t be there
Every time I turn around, you disappear
I wanna blow your mind, just come with me, I swear
I’m gonna take you somewhere warm, you know j’adore la mer
‘Cause when the morning comes, I know you won’t be there
Every time I turn around, you disappear
Nice to meet ya
(I got love for you)
(I got love for you)
Nice to meet ya, what’s your name?
Let me treat ya to a drink
I like the way you talk, I like the things you wear
I want your number tattooed on my arm in ink, I swear
‘Cause when the morning comes, I know you won’t be there
Every time I turn around, you disappear
Nice to meet ya
(I got love for you)
(I got love for you)
One minute, you’re there, the next one, you’re gone
Been waiting for you all night, so come on
You know what I need, you know what I want
You know what I need now, you know what I need now
Nice to meet ya, what’s your name?
Let me treat ya to a drink
Nice to meet ya
(I got love for you)
Where ya been?
(I got love for you)
Let me treat ya
(I got love for you)
To a drink
(I got love for you)
Nice to meet ya”
When he was done, I was absolutely shocked and amazed, but above all, curious. Who was he signing about?
“Emily” The teacher called, interrupting my train of thoughts. “Yes?” I replied trying to hide my slight irritation at her interruption. “It’s your turn” I got up and made my way to the teacher, gave her the name of my song and stood behind the microphone and waited for the music to start. The song I was singing was “Cold” by The Veronicas.
I chose this song because it reminds me off my ex. His betrayal shattered me and though it has been over a year, the thought of him still makes me feel numb and cold. I truly loved him, and he broke me.
“Cause I’m dying here
You were lying
It was you and I forever
But now you make me shiver in the light
And I’m dying here
And I’m crying for the you that I remember
But now you make me shiver you’re so…
Am I meant to sit here and just take this
When you promised me
I would be the one that
You would never leave
Can’t believe I felt for what you said
Does it make you feel good to make me feel like less than I am?
Does it make you feel strong?
Like you’re a bigger man?
What did I do to deserve you to shut me out?
Did I love too much?
Is that what this is about?
I used to thank god every morning for having you in my life
And now I’m praying just to forget you
And you know why
Cause I’m dying here
You were lying
It was you and I forever
But now you make me shiver in the light
And I’m dying here
And I’m crying for the you that I remember
But now you make me shiver you’re so…
Cold
Cold
Cold
And if you were gonna lie
At least be a man and lie to my face
So you can watch my tears turn to blood as I tear myself apart
Wondering why
Why I ever fell for you
Put myself though hell for you
Fuck you, I hate you
I love you, I need you
I want to run
I want to run
I want to run, But I don’t wanna run if you’re not gonna find me
So we should just pretend to be friends, right?
And fake our way to the bitter end
Cause I’m dying here
You were lying
It was you and I forever
But now you make me shiver in the light
And I’m dying here
And I’m crying for the you that I remember
But now you make me shiver you’re so…
Cold
Cold
Cold
And I’m dying here
And I’m crying for the you that I remember
But now you make me shiver you’re so…
Cold
Cold
Cold
Now you make me shiver in the light
And I’m crying here
And i’m crying
For the you that I remember
But Now you make me shiver you’re so…
Cold…”
Once again, the class erupted into claps as I made my way back to my seat with tears threatening to escape my eyes. I watched as the next person went up to sing. But I found it difficult to concentrate with the burning gaze on the side of my head, daring me to meet its gaze.
I couldn’t resist anymore and I turned my head to the side, locking eyes on Blake who stared right back at me. Just then the bell rang, startlingly me. I started to pack my stuff up when Blake came up to me.
“Hey, do you want to sit with us for lunch. You can bring your other friend too if you want, where is he anyway?” Dylan is on a business trip for the gang and he won’t be back for a couple of days. But I can’t tell Blake that.
“Dylan is on a camping trip with his family and I don’t think it would be a very good idea to sit with you. Sorry.”
Truth is, I want to sit with him but I can’t. I can’t risk getting too attached to these boys. It will end up with at least one person hurt. I mean their group name is the badboy players. I mean what a dumb name. My groups name is the lethal legends.
I almost thought I saw a hint of hurt in Blake’s eyes when I refused his offer, but it soon morphed into a look of determination so I just walked out of the room and headed towards the cafeteria.
I got my lunch and went to one of the empty tables at the back of the cafeteria room. A few minutes later I was surrounded and the badboy players had occupied the seats that were previously empty.
I only look up from my phone when I felt an arm snake around my waist. Sitting right next to me with his arm around my waist was the leader of the badboy players himself. Blake. And he has the biggest smirk on, acting as if he won the lottery. Ughhhhh
