Roxanne sighed to herself, still on her bed.
The room was dark, with only little radiation emanating from the window side. The ray of sunshine passed through the little slit that remained from the window’s covering, causing little illumination to fill a portion of the room.
“It’s morning already?” She muttered.
Smacking her lips, she removed the blankets which covered her body and proceeded to stand. Inserting her two feet into the flip floors by her bedside, Roxanne stood erect. She stretched her hands as she yawned, feeling more relieved as she did so.
The young girl slowly strutted to the bathroom in order to douse her face with water so she could feel more refreshed. She turned and gazed back on her bed. Roxanne was certainly still sleepy, but didn’t want to return to her sad little dream which seemed to be appearing more often than she desired.
The painful memories of the past, a sad memorandum of what could have been…
“Shit, Roxanne. Don’t start thinking about that now!” She snapped at herself, turning to face the bathroom.
“Ahhhhhh ” She moaned slightly as the water splashed on her face, dazzling across her skin. She could feel the cool trickle on her body as she gleaned brighter.
Suddenly feeling more alive, Roxanne decided to take her bath and freshen up, even though she knew she really didn’t have a reason for doing so.
There was nowhere else to go anyway.
After freshening up, she left the bathroom, shutting the door behind her slightly. After cleaning her wet body with her towel, she proceeded to wear her undergarments.
“Urh, this is always the issue!” Roxanne gave a frustrated sigh, trying to hook the straps of her bra in one place.
She never had this problem before, that is, until she returned from her little excursion in the woods.
Since these were her old clothes, was she already outgoing them? She had difficulty with her braziers, and even her shirts felt a little tight on her chest area. Was she growing bigger?
She glanced at her breasts and cupped them with her hands.
“They look the same to me though…” She muttered.
After one final struggle, she was finally able to hook the bra, causing her to stiffen a bit as she felt the contraption on her chest tighten.
“Maybe I should do some shopping?”
That would be a good idea. If she was outgrowing her clothes, all she had to do was get new ones. She also had enough money to spare. Besides… It would take her mind off Asher.
“Let’s go shopping then” Roxanne decided, heading to her wardrobe to pick the right outfit for the occasion.
[Moments Later]
Roxanne walked through the snowy path, trotting steadily on the sidewalk as she glanced around her. The buildings around her we’re still filled with lights and decorations. People wearing their winter jackets walked together with friends, families… Lovers. They were enjoying the season.
After all, it was only a day to the new year.
Rosanna sighed as she continued her solitary walk. She had no family, friends or lover by her side. She didn’t want to regret her decision, in fact, she didn’t. However, sometimes she still felt the pangs of loneliness.
This was one of those times.
She shrugged off her heavy thoughts and proceeded to the clothing store. The warm atmosphere of the place greeted her, as did the fresh aroma of new clothes. Roxanne took in the ambience of the place as she took a deep breath.
Being her first time in the place, she glanced around her. Her eyes darted to a lady sitting by the receptionist desk. The woman suddenly lifted her eyes from what she was doing and met Roxanne’s.
“Welcome ma’am… How may I help you?” The receptionist at the counter asked with a bright smile.
Roxanne smiled.
“If only you could….” She thought to herself.
“Oh, don’t mind me. I’ll just look around”
Quickly strutting deeper into the store, Roxanne avoided any further conversation with the woman.
“Let’s just get what I need and leave”
[Moments Later]
Finally back in her hotel room, Roxanne crashed on her bed, dropping the bags filled with new clothes. She spent more than expected, but it wasn’t really a problem for her. Still, she was surprised.
“Were clothes always this expensive?”
Perhaps it was because she never used her money to buy clothes, or due to the fact that she was always with her mom whenever she shopped. Roxanne felt needlessly tensed and itchy all over.
There was nothing left for her to do. She didn’t even spend very long shopping, and here she was, back where she came from.
She felt restless, not wanting to remain in her bed doing nothing. However, there was nothing else she could do. She had no friends to talk to, no family to spend time with, no lover to cuddle… She was all alone.
“Urgh, I can’t wait for the new year to begin!” Roxanne groaned.
At least then the underground wrestling grounds would reopen and she would continue her adventure as Black Cat. Her life wouldn’t be so boring anymore.
The thought of school also flashed in Roxanne’s head. She didn’t know what to do about that. Her break would soon be over, and she needed to start considering what to do about her academic life.
“Should I just quit…?” She asked herself.
Her thoughts were still shaky, so she didn’t want to make any decision on the matter yet.
Suddenly, her head sparked, rousing her from her bored state. She didn’t want to consider it before, but now that she was feeling pent up, there was one place she could go to.
“Will the coach let me in though?” She muttered to herself.
There was only one way to find out.
Roxanne hadn’t been there in a while, since the day she left in rage after her Coach decided not to aid her in wrestling. She eventually learned from her mother that she was the one who pressured him to stop helping Roxanne in her underground wrestling.
“He probably didn’t have a choice, uh?” She reasoned.
Roxanne rose up from her bed and began to remove her clothes. She needed to change into something more comfortable. She had just the thing among the clothes she just bought.
“I just hope I won’t run into anyone I know,” She sighed.
She contacted her mom the other day and told her she needed time on her own. After a long time going back and forth, Melissa agreed to give her daughter space.
Roxanne was an adult, and a Werewolf who had come of age… She deserved some degree of freedom.
However, she was still worried that if she saw her mother, she might somehow be forced to return home. Roxanne didn’t want that. She wasn’t ready just yet.
Brushing aside her thoughts once again, she dressed herself and got ready to leave.
Roxanne stood in front of the very familiar building. It had been about three weeks since she was last here, yet it seemed longer for some reason. The building still remained rickety looking, with peeling paint and an unattractive appearance.
The most significant feature of this sight was the banner in front. Roxanne couldn’t help but laugh as she saw the words. Perhaps it was out of habit, or just nostalgia, but Roxanne decided to say the words.
“Passion Of Life Gym”
She didn’t cringe this time.
She was feeling nervous though. The last time they talked, it wasn’t pretty, and Roxanne felt guilty for that. Coach Donald was like a second father to her.
“I should apologize too…” She reasoned.
Clenching her first in resolve, she moved closer to the entrance and entered the building. With the warmth of the heater embracing her, and the familiar smell which covered the entire atmosphere, Roxanne picked a whiff.
She recognized that scent.
“Coach!” She beamed.
With excitement and nervousness, Roxanne raced to the floor above her, ignoring the receptionist who was surprised to see her.
“Roxanne, it’s been a while-” The receptionist said in an awkward greeting, but Roxanne rushed past her and climbed the stairs hurriedly.
Perhaps meeting someone she once knew would help cure her of the loneliness which haunted her… And if she could engage him in a sparring session, then that would be the best.
She missed training with him, after all.
