Chapter 35: Face the Reality

Book:Tell me you love me Published:2024-5-28

Manfred was completely disappointed with his son. He left the house while scolding.
However, Lucas was not low-spirited.
To everyone’s surprise, he successfully stood firm with lightning speed and by the time people realized it, he had already fully controlled the Foster Group.
A year later, he stood in front of the entrance of the Cooper family and placed the acquisition proposal in his hand in front of Jacob, “Tell me, where is her grave?”
He still did not believe that Olivia was already dead.
If she was not dead, they would not have prepared a grave, right?
So, he came to break the rumours to tell everyone that Olivia was not dead.
It was the first time that Jacob was threatened by someone like this. He was so angry that he called Manfred on the spot.
Manfred cursed and reprimanded him on the phone using the severance of the father-son relationship as a threat but Lucas said very calmly, “I have nothing to care about now. If you don’t want to see me destroy the Foster Group, don’t interfere in my affairs.”
He directly hung up the phone without waiting for Manfred to speak. Then, he looked at Jacob, “Now, can you tell me where is Olivia’s grave?”
There was clearly a provocation in his eyes.
He absolutely did not believe that Olivia was already dead.
Jacob looked at him with a darkened gaze and coldly snorted, “Fine, I’ll let you see her.”
Lucas’s entire body stiffened but he still followed Jacob. He was lying to him…he must be lying to him.
he stood in front of Olivia’s tomb.
Olivia’s bright smile was on the white tombstone. Her two shallow dimples were on the side of her cheeks and her eyebrows were with the ease and happiness that Lucas had never seen.
It seemed that…when she was with him, she had always been depressed and sad.
Lucas felt an excruciating pain in his heart as if it was stabbed forcefully by something.
He stared blankly at the tombstone in front of him and suddenly roared like a madman, “This is not her! You’re lying to me! You’re lying to me, right?”
Jacob was shocked. He pretended to look calm and said, “I didn’t lie to you! She’s right here! Lucas, face the reality!”
Dejected, Lucas slumped onto the ground.
What did it look like after a person died? Lucas had never thought about this question. Knowing that Olivia had lymphoma, the most he thought about was that she would be cured. He never thought that Olivia would die.
But, when her tombstone appeared in front of him, he could not say a word.
He opened his mouth but he did not say anything and just blankly gazed at the tombstone. Jacob felt very absurd for a moment. Could it be that Lucas really fell in love with Olivia?
How was it possible?
If he liked her, would he still divorce her after knowing that she was terminally ill?
He looked at Lucas for some time with a complicated gaze. Then, he coldly snorted, “You’ve already seen it, come with me then?”
Lucas did not move.
He sat silently in front of Olivia’s grave like a statue.
Jacob went forward to pull Lucas but he pushed him away. His tone was sad, “Let me…stay with her a little longer.”
Jacob froze. Now, he indeed felt sympathetic for him.
Even though Jacob did not like this man, looking at his expression, he really believed that he sincerely liked Olivia.
He had also been like this. His beloved had died but he lived alone. He understood such feelings. Lucas was experiencing what he had experienced in the past.
He withdrew his hand and did not say anything else. He just quietly stood for a while and then said, “I’ll go back first, you can accompany her a little longer.”
Being expressionless, Lucas did not say anything.
Jacob shook his head and turned around to go back to the car.
He worriedly looked at his watch. There was a meeting in the afternoon so he did not have time to accompany Lucas to play tricks. When he was about to let the driver start driving, he heard the driver’s frightened voice shouting, “Si…Sir…”
What?
He looked in the direction where the driver was looking and saw that Lucas was taking something to smash Olivia’s tombstone.
In the slightly cool autumn breeze, Lucas looked like a madman. His eyes were red and his teeth were tightly clenched, “Olivia, come back…”
Lucas went crazy.
Jacob took much effort to bring Lucas back to the Foster family. Afterwards, he did not allow him to step into the graveyard again.
Lucas had been in a dejected state for a long time. It was only until Lyndon was seriously ill so he personally went to the Foster family to see him. No one knew what they talked about. But once Lyndon passed away, Lucas seemingly had regained the motivation to live. He controlled the Foster Group firmly and after some time, the Foster Group surprisingly became the top group in this city.
