Olivia had been pregnant for eight months.
Meanwhile, her spirits were getting worse and worse. She often slept all day and when she opened her eyes, she would see several doctors discussing her condition outside the ward.
Olivia’s hair had fallen out. Her face was pale and her entire person looked very weak.
She really did not like to look in the mirror now. Whenever she did so, she always felt like the one in the mirror was another woman.
She wanted to be alive. As the child in her belly got bigger and bigger, she could more and more feel his presence.
She was reluctant to leave him alone in this world.
She tried hard to cooperate with the doctor’s various requests just for the sake of this child. Jacob and Owen saw all this and they could only utter a prayer to God, hoping that God could help her.
Finally, when the baby in her belly matured, the doctor suggested having a caesarean section. In this way, Olivia would have enough time to recover.
Listening to the sounds of the pointer ticking by, as worries of Jacob and Owen in their mind who were standing outside the delivery room reached the peak, the door of the delivery room was opened. The nurse came out with a smile on her face while carrying a tiny child, “It’s a princess!”
She would be the most precious princess of the Cooper family.
Owen carried the child and smiled. He did not notice Jacob’s worries in his eyes.
“How is my daughter?”
“Her body is very weak so she is still resting.”
…
After making sure that Olivia was fine, Jacob pulled Owen to the corner and said with a serious face, “Lucas is crazy.”
…
Lucas was crazy. Ever since Olivia disappeared from his world, he lost the ability that could control his emotions. He worked hard and developed the Foster Group very well. However, some of his tactics made people shudder.
For example, he treated Isabella who had followed him for many years in a way in which he shut out her from having any chance, made her addicted to drugs and threw her to the underclass to let her struggle. Each of his fair-weather friends around him was under his special care…
He was now a mad dog that would bite people whenever he saw someone.
What gave Jacob a headache was that Lucas appeared in the Cooper family from time to time and appeared by his side. His intention was self-evident. He wanted to see Olivia.
How could this be?
It was a very critical moment for Olivia now. Jacob absolutely did not want his daughter to be stimulated in any way!
What was more, if Lucas knew that Olivia had given birth to their child, would he be willing to let that child follow Olivia’s surname and abandon the surname as Foster?
What could be done to let Lucas give up on Olivia?
This was a problem that Jacob and Owen thought about for many days. One late afternoon, Lucas waited outside the Coopers’ Mansion and blocked Jacob.
“Where is Olivia? Where is she?”
Lucas had lost a lot of weight. His eyes narrowed and when he looked at Jacob, his aura was so severe that Jacob could not help but feel that his heart was throbbing with fear.
He was getting more and more dangerous.
Jacob gritted his teeth and asked, “What for you look for her? Haven’t you harmed her enough?”
Lucas pursed his lips and his face looked serious, “Give me a chance to make amends.”
He had thought a lot during this time but he still could not let go of that woman. He decided to spend his lifetime to atone for his sins to that woman as long as she was willing to give him a chance.
Jacob looked at him and snorted coldly, “Make amends, what can you do to make amends? Lucas, what you owe Olivia can never be repaid!”
Lucas was stunned. Before he could understand what these words meant, he had already been pushed away by others. But after a few days, he fully understood the meaning of these words.
The Cooper family held a small memorial service for Olivia. The attendees were very less and they were all Olivia’s closest friends and relatives. The number of people could be counted using two hands. But, Lucas still got to know about this matter from someone.
He did not believe it.
He seemingly went crazy as he rushed to the Cooper family to ask for clarification but Jacob refused to see him.
White funeral banners were hung on the door of the Cooper family.
Lucas refused to believe that this was true. He believed that Olivia was still alive. It was only after a few months, how was it possible that she would be gone?
Keith found him in his and Olivia’s house.
Since Olivia left, Lucas returned to stay here. He hired someone to clean the house but they could not touch the things in the house. So, it looked exactly the same as when Olivia was still here.
When Keith came, Lucas was eating. There were two sets of bowls and chopsticks on the dining table.
